Chapter 10
Sasuke's journey home was much quieter than his arrival in the Land of Fire. After parting with Sakura at the central village gates, he had ridden the rest of the way with his troops. As the Uchiha compound loomed in the distance, a strange mixture of anticipation and apprehension settled over him. His father's cold, authoritative presence had always cast a long shadow, and despite his accomplishments, Sasuke knew the expectations waiting for him upon his return.
Upon entering the compound, Sasuke noticed immediately that his father, Fugaku Uchiha, was absent. The clan leader had not come to greet him at the gates or even sent a word of welcome. It was typical of him—his father wasn't one for outward displays of affection, nor did he offer praise lightly. But still, the lack of acknowledgment stung.
Instead, it was his mother, Mikoto, who greeted him warmly. She rushed forward, her face lighting up as soon as she saw him. Her long, dark hair swayed as she embraced him tightly, pulling him close in a rare, tender display of maternal love.
"Sasuke, you've returned safely," she said softly, her voice full of relief as she held him for a few moments longer than necessary. "I've missed you very much."
Sasuke allowed himself to relax, if only for a moment, in her embrace. "It's good to be home, Mother."
Stepping back, Mikoto smiled up at him, her eyes reflecting the pride she held for both of her sons. "Your brother's waiting for you inside."
Sasuke nodded, knowing that his mother, while doting, had sensed there were things he needed to discuss with Itachi—things that went beyond the usual family pleasantries. As he walked toward the house, he felt his brother's eyes on him before he even entered.
Itachi stood just inside the entrance, his calm, composed demeanor as impenetrable as ever. But there was warmth in his dark eyes, a soft smile pulling at his lips.
"It's good to see you, Sasuke," Itachi greeted him. His voice, though calm, held an undercurrent of emotion that he rarely displayed.
"You too, brother," Sasuke replied, his own voice steady, though his mind was racing. He had much to discuss with Itachi, and they both knew it. But those words could wait until they were alone.
After the initial reunion with their mother, the brothers retreated to the garden at the back of the house, where they could talk without interruption. The garden had always been their place for quiet conversations, a sanctuary away from the pressures of the clan.
Itachi glanced at Sasuke, his expression still calm but knowing. "You've been thinking about something," he said, as perceptive as ever. "Something important. What is it?"
Sasuke hesitated for only a moment before responding, knowing that his brother would understand. "We took care of the rogues," he began, watching as Itachi's eyes focused intently. "But there was something else we discovered, something… unexpected."
Itachi’s gaze sharpened, curiosity piqued. "Go on."
Sasuke lowered his voice, aware of the weight his next words would carry. "We found Kakashi Senju and Obito Uchiha. Over the years, we always believed Sakura was the Senju heir, but we were wrong. Kakashi is her brother—he’s the true heir."
Itachi’s brow furrowed slightly, the only visible sign of his surprise. "Kakashi?" Itachi paused, his voice calm yet perplexed. "and this man... was captured by Orochimaru?"
Sasuke nodded, his expression grave. "Yes. Orochimaru captured him just like he did with Obito. However with Sakura and I working together we were able to locate him and bring him back."
Itachi remained silent, processing the information. Orochimaru’s involvement added layers of complexity. "They must be happy."
Sasuke’s expression tightened. He could see it clearly—how the weight of Kakashi’s absence must have affected Sakura. "She was."
Itachi nodded, understanding the emotional depth beneath the surface. "This changes the political landscape. If Kakashi is the heir, Sakura may no longer hold the position we thought she did. But I doubt it will affect her standing. She’s already proven herself a leader."
Sasuke clenched his fists slightly, the conversation shifting his thoughts to Sakura. "Even if she’s not the heir, that doesn’t change what I feel for her."
Itachi turned his attention fully to his brother, his perceptive gaze cutting through any pretense. "And what exactly do you feel for her?"
Sasuke took a breath, the vulnerability in his voice barely noticeable. "I want to marry her."
For a moment, Itachi was silent, taking in his brother's words. There was no judgment in his eyes, only quiet contemplation. After all, the idea wasn't without merit—Sakura was not just any Senju. She was a rising figure of influence, and with Kakashi back, there were many questions about the future of the Senju leadership.
"It makes sense," Itachi said finally, a small smile tugging at his lips. "But have you considered what this marriage would mean for the Uchiha and the Senju?"
Sasuke nodded. "I have. With Kakashi back, Sakura might not be the heir anymore. But even if she's not, a marriage between us would still be a powerful symbol of unity. And if she remains the heir... then an Uchiha would be at the top of the Senju clan. Either way, it strengthens us."
Itachi leaned back slightly, his arms crossed, clearly intrigued by the proposal. "And you think Father will agree to this?"
Sasuke exhaled, feeling the weight of his father's influence. "I don't know. But I think... no, I know it's the right move. We could build something new between the two clans, perhaps even a new place between our lands where we could both rule. It would show the strength of the Uchiha, and if we handle this right, no one will question our power."
Itachi chuckled softly, impressed by his younger brother's thoughtfulness. "You've certainly thought this through."
"I have," Sasuke admitted, his expression serious. "And when I tell Father, I want you to support the idea. If you tell him it's a good plan, he'll be more likely to listen."
Itachi nodded, his gaze shifting to the garden beyond them. "I'll stand by you. This could be the beginning of something bigger than either of us."
Unbeknownst to the brothers, Fugaku had been listening from a distance, concealed just out of sight. As clan leader, it was his duty to know the inner workings of his family, especially when it came to decisions that could shape the future of the Uchiha. He had expected Sasuke to return with news of battle, perhaps some small victories. But this... this plan was something entirely different.
At first, Fugaku had been prepared to reprimand his son, assuming Sasuke was making some impulsive decision based on emotion. But the more he listened, the more he realized that Sasuke had thought through the consequences and the potential gains of such a union. A marriage between the Uchiha and the Senju—especially with Kakashi's return—could solidify their influence in ways Fugaku hadn't considered.
As Sasuke continued speaking with Itachi, his words became more personal. "Sakura was the reason I was able to get the Mangekyō Sharingan," he said quietly, his voice full of sincerity. "Without her... I wouldn't have been able to unlock its power."
Fugaku's eyes widened slightly from his hiding spot, his surprise clear. The Mangekyō Sharingan? Sasuke's achievement filled him with pride, though he kept his expression neutral. His son had grown not only in strength but in wisdom.
"I'm proud of you, Sasuke," Itachi said, his voice soft but full of meaning. "And I think Father will be, too."
Sasuke's expression softened. "I hope so. But I hope to propose this idea before anyone else does. If we can secure this alliance, it'll be on our terms."
Itachi nodded in agreement. "As a team, we'll go together and discuss this with them once Kakashi is settled."
With their plan set, the brothers began to leave the garden, unaware that their father had heard everything. Fugaku remained in his hiding place, contemplating what he had learned. He wasn't angry—not in the slightest. In fact, he felt a sense of admiration for his younger son. Sasuke had shown foresight, ambition, and a willingness to take on the responsibility of unifying the two greatest clans in the Land of Fire.
As they headed back toward the castle doors, Sasuke felt a sense of determination settle within him. The next steps were crucial, and while his father's approval was important, he was ready to act with or without it. This marriage, this alliance, wasn't just about love—it was about the future of their clan. And he was willing to do whatever it took to ensure that future was bright.
But as they neared the main hall, Itachi placed a hand on Sasuke's shoulder, his expression unreadable for a moment. "Are you sure, Sasuke?" he asked quietly. "About marrying her?"
Sasuke met his brother's gaze, his eyes full of certainty. "I'm sure. Sakura is the one I want by my side."
Itachi's lips curved into a small, approving smile. "Then let's make it happen."
Sasuke nodded, the weight of the future heavy on his shoulders, but he was ready. Together, they would present their plan to the Senju, and soon enough, they would face their father with the truth. Sasuke had no intention of backing down. This would be the dawn of a new era for the Uchiha, and he was resolved to shape it with Princess Sakura by his side. He only hoped that their journey wouldn't be delayed or halted for any longer than necessary.
A week had passed since Sasuke returned to the Uchiha compound, but he had not yet spoken to his father about his hopes and plans. Instead, he sought out his mother, Mikoto, while she was tending to the garden.
"Mother," he began, his voice soft but resolute, "I want to send a welcome-home gift to the Senju. Something to express our gratitude."
Mikoto glanced up from the herbs she was clipping, a knowing smile tugging at her lips. "A welcome-home gift, is it? For the Senju... or for a certain princess?" Her husband mentioned over hearing the boys but she herself wanted to test the waters.
When Sasuke stiffened slightly, Mikoto could only chuckle. "You should go yourself, Sasuke. But not alone." She straightened, brushing off her hands. "Shisui will go with you. It's more proper, after all."
Sasuke met his mother's gaze, gratitude evident in his eyes. "Thank you, Mother."
With that, the two men departed, bearing the gift and the silent understanding of what this visit truly meant. Upon arrival at the Senju compound, they were greeted by guards, who promptly fetched Kakashi.
Kakashi approached with his usual laid-back demeanor, though there was a sharp glint of knowing in his eye. "Thank you for the gift," he said smoothly, eyeing Sasuke, "but I suspect you're here for more than a simple greeting."
Sasuke's posture tensed, but Kakashi's next words caught him off guard. "I'm sorry to inform you, but my sister isn't here at the moment."
Shisui's eyes narrowed slightly. "Where is she?"
"Currently in battle," Kakashi explained, almost too casually. "Not against Orochimaru, if that's what you're wondering. She's leading about 800 of our people."
"Who is she fighting?" Sasuke asked, his voice betraying a mix of confusion and concern.
"Just some rogues," Kakashi answered, a hint of amusement in his tone. "Led by a man named Sasori, connected to the Akatsuki. Nothing Sakura can't handle."
Shisui raised an eyebrow, surprised. "If I may, why send her into battle? And with so few troops?"
Kakashi shrugged, unbothered. "My sister's stronger than most think. Even if I've been away for years, I know she can take care of herself."
Despite Kakashi's assurance, Sasuke's unease only grew. He wanted to rush in, but something held him back—perhaps it was the knowledge that Sakura wouldn't appreciate his interference. So, they waited.
Hours passed, and eventually, guards began to return. But with them came unsettling news: though 700 had returned, 100 remained, and Sakura was still out there.
Shisui stayed back with Kakashi, his calm demeanor unchanged, but Sasuke could wait no longer. He slipped away, following the trail of battle until he reached the outskirts, where the remnants of the Senju forces were still locked in combat.
Amidst the chaos, Sasuke's eyes scanned for Sakura—and finally, he spotted her. She was battling fiercely against a red-headed man, Sasori. Despite the intensity of the fight, it was clear to Sasuke that she didn't need help. She was every bit the warrior Kakashi had claimed.
He watched as Sakura expertly disarmed her opponent, slicing him into pieces with swift, precise movements. Her focus then shifted to her troops, checking on the wounded and ensuring the battle was well in hand.
Satisfied that she was safe, Sasuke approached. "You handled that well," he said as he joined her.
Sakura glanced up, surprised but not displeased to see him. "I didn't need help, you know."
"I know," Sasuke conceded, falling into step with her. "However, it's not appropriate for a gentleman to leave the woman he cares about walking home alone."
Sakura remained silent, her heart racing as she struggled to hide her growing feelings for Sasuke.
Back at the compound, Kakashi greeted them with a knowing smirk. "Told you she'd be fine," he teased lightly.
Shisui, standing beside him, eyed Sasuke with a smirk of his own. "Seems you got a little worked up, Your Highness."
Sasuke said nothing, but the sight of Sakura walking beside him, unharmed and as fierce as ever, was enough to soothe the worry that had been gnawing at him. Together, they made their way back, the weight of their unspoken bond growing stronger with each step.
The Uchiha compound had been unusually quiet over the past week, but the news had spread quickly—The Senju Princess had singlehandedly killed one of the rogue Akatsuki members in battle. The murmurs among the clan spoke of her strength, her prowess, and how this victory solidified her place as a powerful figure among the Senju.
Sasuke, however, had remained mostly silent, spending the past week in contemplation. He knew what he had to do, but for some reason, the weight of the moment had held him back.
Until today.
He stood in front of his father's chamber, his fist clenched as he prepared himself. There was no more room for hesitation. With a deep breath, he knocked.
"Enter," Fugaku's deep voice called from within.
Sasuke stepped inside, meeting his father's unreadable gaze. Fugaku sat behind his desk, papers scattered across the surface, but his attention was clearly on his son.
"Father," Sasuke began, his voice steady but tense, "I wish to request a formal meeting between our clan and the Senju."
Fugaku raised an eyebrow, his fingers steepled in front of him as he leaned back slightly in his chair. "A meeting? Why?"
Sasuke exhaled. This was it. He could feel his pulse quicken, but he kept his voice composed. "I wish to marry Sakura Senju."
There was a beat of silence.
Fugaku's expression didn't change, though Sasuke could tell he was surprised. "You wish to marry her?" he repeated, his tone not harsh but assessing.
Sasuke nodded. "Yes. I believe it is the right decision for the future of both our clans."
Fugaku studied him for a long moment, and Sasuke braced himself for the questions he had anticipated—about his reasons, the politics, the consequences. But instead, Fugaku simply nodded.
"Very well," he said, his voice calm and deliberate. "I will set the meeting."
Sasuke blinked, caught off guard. "You agree?"
Fugaku's lips curved ever so slightly into a rare, amused smile. "I am surprised it took you this long to ask. But yes. I agree."
For the first time in the entire exchange, Sasuke was rendered speechless. He had expected resistance, perhaps even a test of his resolve. But his father's immediate acceptance stunned him.
"However," Fugaku continued, "I believe we should delay the meeting with the Senju. Their kingdom is still adjusting to having their prince back, and we need to consider our current strategy. The threat of Orochimaru looms larger than ever, and our focus should be on defeating him once and for all."
Sasuke opened his mouth to protest, but Fugaku raised a hand to silence him.
"You don't know but I heard you speak to Itachi about your reasoning," Fugaku added. "I liked your logic. However, you and the family saw how she reacted to the Uzumaki heir when he asked. So I suggest we take this time to feel out the Senju on the topic of marriage through less formal channels. Build trust, establish rapport. That way, when we do meet, we'll be better prepared, both politically and emotionally."
Sasuke's heart sank slightly, but he knew his father's wisdom was grounded in experience. The Uchiha and Senju needed to work together to eliminate Orochimaru; perhaps a delayed meeting would serve both their interests.
"Very well, Father," Sasuke replied, a mix of frustration and determination swirling within him. "I understand."
Fugaku smiled slightly, reassured. "Good. We will strategize over the next month, and when the time is right, we will present our proposal to the Senju."
Sasuke nodded, realizing that while it wasn't the immediate action he had hoped for, it was a step in the right direction. He would prepare, and when the time came, he would ensure that both clans were ready for a future that included him and Sakura—together.
Fugaku waved a hand dismissively. "There is no need for further discussion here. We will talk more soon. You may go."
Sasuke bowed his head, still processing the turn of events. "Thank you, Father."
As he left the room, the reality of what had just happened began to settle in. His father, who had always been reserved and calculating, had said yes without hesitation. Maybe his father cared for him more than he thought.
On the other side of the village, the Senju family gathered in their meeting hall to address the growing concerns over recent rogue attacks near the Uzumaki territory. The atmosphere was tense as they deliberated the implications of these incursions. Tsunade, her expression serious, leaned forward in her chair. Though the Senju heir's return had initially brought a sense of peace, the past few weeks had seen a troubling rise in these attacks.
"We need to discuss the rogues attacking villagers near the Uzumaki borders," she said, her voice cutting through the tension. "This can't be ignored, and it's time we reassess our position in the village and our relationships with other clans."
Kakashi, seated beside her, nodded in agreement. "The Uchiha have been stepping up their involvement in handling rogue threats more effectively. They've been instrumental in keeping our borders secure."
Dan, who presided over the meeting, frowned deeply. "Meanwhile, the Uzumaki have been remarkably absent. Despite their proximity to the threat, they've acted as if they're above the fray. The Nara and Yamanaka, on the other hand, have been more active in supporting us."
Tsunade crossed her arms. "Not to mention that the Uzumaki's past actions have put us all at risk. They were meeting with enemies before we established peace, and they had traitors in their midst. They almost allowed Sakura to be harmed."
Kakashi's brow furrowed. He had heard whispers but had been kept in the dark during his absence. "What do you mean?"
"Sakura was nearly raped because of their negligence," Tsunade explained, her voice laced with anger. "And now, their heir, Naruto, asks her to marry him as if Hinata is worthless. It's an affront not just to Sakura but to Hinata herself, who has been a loyal friend and ally."
Dan's gaze hardened. "It's clear the Uzumaki think they can manipulate our alliance to regain power. They've put us in a precarious position."
Sakura, who had been quiet until now, finally spoke up. "I believe we should formally visit the Uzumaki and make it clear that if Naruto does not marry Hinata, we'll reconsider our alliance. The Uzumaki need to understand that treating my lady of waiting as if she's worthless is unacceptable."
Kakashi glanced at his sister, proud of her strength. "We also need them to step up their efforts in the village. We can't afford to let them slack off while the rest of us are fighting to maintain peace."
Dan nodded in agreement. "The Uzumaki were once the head of the village, with the Senju in second and the Uchiha right behind them. Now, the Senju have taken the lead, and the Uchiha have risen to the second spot, pushing the Uzumaki down. If the Uzumaki don't adjust their behavior, they risk losing even more ground."
Kakashi added, "If we involve the Uchiha in our meeting with the Uzumaki, it could reinforce our united front. We're in a position to negotiate from strength now."
As they deliberated, the tension in the room was palpable. It was clear that the Senju were done tolerating the Uzumaki's lack of loyalty.
"We need to make it clear that we will not allow Lady Hinata to be treated like a pawn in their game," Tsunade said, her tone resolute. "The future of our alliance depends on their willingness to recognize the value of every member in our community."
Sakura's heart raced with determination. They had to act, and quickly. The strength of their clans depended on unity, and they wouldn't allow Naruto's careless actions to threaten that.
As the Senju family meeting adjourned, Kakashi and Sakura stood to leave, leaving Tsunade and King Dan to craft the final note. The tension in the room had been palpable, and Kakashi could feel the weight of his sister's resolve as they exited the hall.
Once outside, Kakashi turned to Sakura, his voice calm but probing. "Are you sure this is the approach you want to take? Pushing the Uzumaki like this could strain things further."
Sakura clenched her fists at her side, her eyes hard with determination. "I don't like how Naruto's been acting, Kakashi. Before our alliance with the Uchiha, he was practically at their feet, fighting battles alongside them, treating it like some game. But then, after everything, he got me alone under the guise of training." She paused, her frustration boiling over. "He told me if I cared about the alliances, I should watch my back with the Uchiha, and everyone else too. At the end of the day, he said he was the only one who could truly protect me and that Hinata could be sent back home if things didn't work out. But where was he when it mattered?"
Kakashi's brow furrowed as he listened. "What do you mean?"
"You were absent a while. You need to understand it was the second heir of the Uchiha's to help me. Sasuke's the one who saved me," Sakura said, her voice steady but full of emotion. "Naruto wasn't there when I needed him. Instead, he allowed the attack to happen. Keep in mind, Sasuke was the one who fought by my side when we rescued you, and the Uzumaki were nowhere to be found. Naruto's words feel hollow, like he's trying to manipulate our bond to his advantage. It's disrespectful to my lady, and I won't stand for it."
Kakashi nodded, understanding the depths of her frustration. "I understand, and I support you. But be careful, Sakura. Don't let your temper get the best of you. Mom's temper might flare during that meeting, and dad does not need both of you acting out."
Sakura gave him a small, determined smile. "I'll keep my head as much as possible. But this needs to be addressed, and the Uzumaki need to know we won't tolerate them playing games with our alliances—or with Hinata's worth."
Kakashi gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "I won't be at the meeting, but I'll be backing you from here. Just remember, your strength is in your ability to think clearly. Don't lose sight of that."
Sakura nodded, her resolve unshaken. "I won't."
With that, the two walked back to their quarters, the weight of the upcoming confrontation already pressing on them both.
In the opulent confines of the Senju meeting hall, Tsunade meticulously penned a letter to Fugaku Uchiha, her quill gliding across the parchment with purpose.
To the Esteemed King Fugaku Uchiha,
I trust this letter finds you well. In light of the recent developments concerning our alliances and the imperative need for strategic unity, I formally request your presence at a meeting to discuss the current state of our clans. It would be prudent to address the Uzumaki's position and behavior, particularly regarding the treatment of Princess Sakura and Lady Hinata.
Given the escalating threat of rogue attacks near the Uzumaki territory, it is imperative that we coordinate our efforts to ensure the safety of our clans and maintain the stability of our alliance. I believe a unified front is essential to counter this growing danger.
I wish to inform you that my daughter will be in attendance, as I believe it crucial for her to engage in these discussions directly. Furthermore, my son, Kakashi, while eager to contribute, still requires time to recuperate from his extended absence. I hope you will consider this as we seek to establish a unified front.
Looking forward to your favorable response.
Yours in solidarity, Tsunade Senju, Queen of the Senju Clan
Fugaku read the letter, his brow furrowing as he considered the implications. The message was clear: the Senju were resolute in their commitment to maintaining the integrity of their alliances. He penned his reply with a steady hand.
To Queen Tsunade Senju,
I appreciate your thoughtful invitation and wholeheartedly agree to convene. I acknowledge the pressing need to address the issues surrounding the Uzumaki clan and their recent actions, as they threaten the unity we have worked tirelessly to build.
I shall ensure both my sons are present for this meeting, as their involvement will be vital in navigating the complexities ahead.
Let us fortify our alliance and ensure that our clans remain strong together.
Respectfully,
Fugaku Uchiha, King of the Uchiha
In the dimly lit Uchiha meeting hall, the family gathered in quiet deliberation. Fugaku sat at the head of the table, his expression as unreadable as ever. Itachi stood nearby, his arms crossed, while Sasuke leaned against the wall, his gaze distant but focused. Mikoto, ever the voice of calm, sat across from her husband, her hands folded gracefully in her lap.
"It's clear that Naruto has made a grave mistake with Sakura," Fugaku said, breaking the silence. "Our alliance with the Senju is important, and he's only complicated things with his actions."
Itachi nodded in agreement. "There have been rogue attacks near the Uzumaki area recently, but they've refused to offer any aid. It's not like them. I can't figure out why they're behaving this way."
Mikoto glanced thoughtfully at Itachi before speaking. "Honestly, I bet it's Kushina behind it all. Minato knows better, and Naruto isn't that stupid. But Kushina—she's always been a hothead. It's possible she's still angry about the rejection of Naruto's proposal to Sakura and the fact that Sasuke was involved in rescuing Kakashi, the Senju heir. That likely didn't sit well with her."
Fugaku raised an eyebrow. "You think she's letting personal emotions cloud her judgment?"
Mikoto nodded. "Kushina has always had a temper. I wouldn't be surprised if she's feeling threatened by the strengthening ties between the Uchiha and Senju. And now, with Naruto's blunder, she might be lashing out."
Sasuke, having stayed silent until now, pushed off the wall and spoke. "I'll keep that in mind when we meet with them. But regardless of Kushina's feelings, we need to approach this carefully. If the Uzumaki keep this up, they could undermine the peace we've been working for."
Itachi glanced at his younger brother, then at Fugaku. "I think it's best one of us stays back during the meeting. We need to be prepared for anything."
Fugaku nodded, considering the suggestion. "Sasuke, you should stay—"
"I'll stay," Mikoto interrupted softly but firmly. "I'm the best option to keep an eye on things while you men go. If things escalate, someone calm needs to be here to manage it."
Sasuke immediately shook his head. "I want to go. This is important, and I need to be there."
Itachi, noticing the determination in Sasuke's tone, backed him up. "Let Sasuke come, Father. His presence will be useful, especially given the tension with Naruto."
Fugaku eyed both of his sons before finally relenting. "Very well. Sasuke, you'll go. But I expect you to keep your temper in check and handle this situation with caution."
Sasuke nodded, his expression resolute. "I will."
Mikoto smiled slightly, a look of pride crossing her face as she looked at her youngest son. "Be careful. The Uzumaki are unpredictable right now. Watch your back."
With the decision made, the Uchiha family prepared for the upcoming meeting, knowing the stakes were higher than ever. Their alliance with the Senju was strong, but the Uzumaki's erratic behavior posed a threat they couldn't afford to ignore.
-
On the appointed day, the Senju gathered once more in the meeting hall, the atmosphere charged with anticipation. Tsunade sat at the head of the table, flanked by her daughter and Kakashi. The Uchiha entered shortly after, Sasuke and Itachi moving with a calm confidence that hinted at their resolve.
Fugaku wasted no time, addressing the assembly with a commanding presence. "We must address the Uzumaki's recent behavior, particularly their treatment of Princess Sakura and Lady Hinata. Their actions have been unacceptable, and we must put them in their place."
Tsunade nodded, her expression serious. "Agreed. The Uzumaki must understand the importance of valuing every member of our community. They cannot manipulate our alliance for their own gain."
Fugaku leaned forward, his tone unwavering. "The Uchiha have stood by your side in times of turmoil, and it is time the Uzumaki acknowledge the strength of our unity. Their negligence has put us all at risk, and it is imperative that we communicate this clearly."
As discussions ensued, plans were laid out for a formal letter to the Uzumaki kingdom, requesting a meeting to address their position and the necessary expectations for maintaining the alliance.
"Let us propose a date for this meeting in the central village," Fugaku suggested, his gaze piercing. "We shall present our terms and ensure they comprehend the weight of their actions."
After several minutes of deliberation, a draft was composed, laying out the agenda for the meeting and a proposed date. The air in the room was thick with determination; it was clear that the Senju and Uchiha were united in their intent.
With the letter finalized, Tsunade took a deep breath, her heart set on the path ahead. "We will not allow the Uzumaki to undermine our efforts any longer. This meeting will serve as a turning point for our alliance."
The group nodded in agreement, and Fugaku smiled slightly, sensing the strength of their collective resolve. "Together, we will ensure our clans emerge stronger than ever."
Across from the village in the heart of the Uzumaki kingdom, a tense atmosphere settled in the grand hall. Minato stood at the head of the table, his arms crossed, a furrow in his brow as he looked at the letter from the Senju. Kushina paced beside him, her expression a mixture of frustration and anger.
"This letter from the Senju and Uchiha demands our presence for a meeting," Minato said, his voice steady but edged with irritation. "And I'm not happy about it. We've been trying to re-establish our role in the village, but it feels like my efforts have been undermined by you."
Kushina stopped pacing, turning to face him. "You think this is all my fault? You know how I feel about the Senju. We were inseparable allies but now they've treated our family like we're beneath them. It is visible in their princess reaction to our proposal. She rejected our son and sent him home bruised and beaten!"
Naruto, who had been silent until now, clenched his fists. "Mom, I don't want to compete for Sakura's heart. I truly care for Hinata, and you made me ask Sakura in the first place. Plus it was not a formal meeting or a letter. You had me ask her to spar and blindside her with the idea of marriage."
Kushina's eyes narrowed. "You can't be serious! You should be fighting for what you want, not running away! She is the better option"
"I don't want to be a contender for someone who clearly doesn't want me," Naruto replied, his voice steady. "Plus my feeling have changed over the years. It started with my letters to Hinata and meeting her. I knew she was the one for me."
Minato interjected, trying to maintain order. "Kushina, we need to focus. This meeting could be crucial. The Senju and Uchiha are making moves we can't ignore. We also need to consider that Kurama is still beneath our kingdom, capable of causing destruction if provoked. I do not want war on the surface against our allies causing Kurama to be invloved."
Kushina nodded but her anger didn't dissipate. "Stop! That is what we need to remind them. We have the power of the nine tails. They think they can push us around because of our current status, but we could destroy their kingdoms and even the main village!"
Minato's expression shifted to one of concern. "But only Naruto and I can control Kurama. We've managed to maintain a balance, and I won't have that jeopardized by a reckless show of power for your ego."
Naruto stepped forward, his determination shining through. "Kurama isn't a weapon to be wielded. He's a part of us, and he loves our village and the people in it. If we ever want to regain our power, it won't be through force or threats. It will be through commitment and cooperation."
Kushina's posture softened slightly, seeing the conviction in her son's eyes. "You really believe that?"
"I do," Naruto replied. "I won't let our kingdom be defined by fear or anger. If we approach this with respect and integrity, we can rebuild our alliances and show everyone what the Uzumaki stand for."
Minato exchanged a glance with Kushina, both sensing the strength of their son's resolve. "Fine. But we need to be strategic about this meeting. We can't afford to be complacent or underestimate the other clans."
Kushina sighed, her frustration giving way to a sense of purpose. "Alright. Let's approach this carefully. But know that I will always have our son's back, no matter what."
Naruto smiled, feeling the weight of their support. "Together, we'll find a way to make this work."
With renewed determination, the Uzumaki family began to strategize their next steps, aware that the road ahead would require not just strength, but unity.
Just four days later the grand hall of the central village buzzed with anticipation, representatives from the Senju, Uchiha, and Uzumaki clans gathered for the highly anticipated meeting. The atmosphere was thick with tension, each clan keenly aware of the stakes involved.
Tsunade sat at the head of the table, flanked by her daughter Sakura and her husband, Dan. Fugaku entered with his two heirs, Sasuke and Itachi, bringing an air of authority that commanded attention. The Uzumaki delegation followed closely behind, with Minato, Kushina, and Naruto taking their seats.
Tsunade began, her voice steady and formal. "Thank you for attending this meeting. We are here to address the growing concerns regarding our alliance and the responsibilities each clan holds toward the safety and unity of our kingdoms."
Fugaku nodded. "Our conditions are straightforward. We believe it is essential for Naruto to marry Lady Hinata, who will become the next queen of the Uzumaki. This will solidify the alliance and ensure mutual respect among our clans."
Sakura added, "However, let me be clear: if the Uzumaki were to marry Hinata and then betray her by causing her harm, Naruto would not be free to pursue another union. Such treachery cannot be tolerated."
Kushina's expression hardened. "But Hinata is just a lady! You cannot elevate her to a position of power based solely on her birthright. Also, if she dies mystery why should that affect my son's future?"
Fugaku's voice was firm. "Let us not forget, Kushina, that it was your son who reached out to her first. Perhaps it's time to focus on the hand your family has dealt."
Itachi turned to Naruto. "What is your opinion on this matter?"
Naruto glanced at his father before speaking. "I would love to marry Hinata. It was actually my mother's idea for me to ask Sakura," he added, casting a sidelong glance at Kushina.
Dan's brows furrowed in disbelief. The Uchiha exchanged knowing looks, understanding the Uzumaki's ongoing struggle for power.
Sasuke interjected, "What about the rogue threats? How will you ensure your clan steps up to address those concerns?"
Minato straightened, his tone serious. "We will step up and fix our mistakes. The safety of the village is paramount, and I will not let the rogue near our land threaten the overall village." He continued, "As a former leader, I know the weight of our actions. I want to compromise for the good of everyone."
Sakura's voice rose, cutting through the tension. "I do not trust the Uzumaki anymore. If it were up to me, I would end this alliance right now." Her declaration sent a ripple of shock through the room, with only her parents remaining calm.
Kushina, feeling the heat of the moment, retorted, "Aren't you being a little bitch?"
"KUSHINA!" "MOM!" Her family yelled, but Sakura's face changed.
Sakura leaned forward, her expression icy. "You wouldn't want me as your daughter-in-law or as the queen of your kingdom. If I did, I would slowly poison you and then heal you before you died, just to make it worse. Be grateful I don't want your son."
The Uchiha were taken aback by Sakura's fierce defense. Itachi remarked, "We have a solid alliance with the Senju. We will back them up."
Kushina, digging herself deeper, replied, "You were enemies once, and yet you both treat us as if we are beneath you!"
Itachi shot back, "We put our bad blood aside, while you take our unity for granted."
Sasuke interjected, "You have yet to provide a real reason for your negligence against the rogues."
Tension crackled in the air as the meeting took a sharp turn. Across the table, Tsunade caught Minato's eye, a warning look passing between them. Minato's heart sank; he remembered the last time his family had disrespected theirs, leading to the loss of the village. He didn't have a good feeling about this.
Finally, Tsunade stood, her voice resonating with authority. "My conditions have changed with the heightening of emotions in this room. It must be because I raised a—what was that, Kushina? A bitch?"
The tension in the hall escalated as everyone fell silent, eyes wide. Tsunade raised as she continued, her gaze fixed on Kushina, "Yes, Minato, I want... I want your wife's head."
Gasps erupted around the room, and Minato's expression shifted to one of disbelief. The Uchiha and Senju representatives exchanged shocked glances, realizing the gravity of the situation.
Kushina, taken aback, stammered, "You can't be serious! This is madness!" Her eyes darted around the room, seeking support. "If you want to split the alliance, then war could happen. Don't forget, we have the Nine-Tails!"
Fugaku's eyes narrowed at the threat. "You'd do well to remember, Kushina, that I too can control Kurama. Your threat holds no weight here."
Minato, trying to defuse the situation, stood up. "Please, let's all calm down. Tsunade, surely you don't mean what you're saying. We need to find common ground, not escalate tensions." He glanced at his wife with concern, wondering if her outburst was a sign of some underlying illness. His wife's ego has never been so loud.
King Dan, who had been silent until now, placed a hand on Tsunade's arm. "My love, while I understand your anger, calling for Kushina's head is not the answer. We must find a more diplomatic solution. Lets not jump to war so soon."
Tsunade's eyes burned with resolve, but she nodded slightly at her husband's words. "You're right, Dan. But the Uzumaki must understand that their actions have consequences."
The air was thick with uncertainty, each clan aware that the next words could determine the fate of their fragile alliance.
Dan could still understand his wife's doubts in the Uzumaki. So he decided to addressed the Uchiha, his voice steady. "While you may have your own alliance with the Uzumaki, understand that our future decision shall not affect you. I say this because after this meeting, the Senju and Uzumaki might no longer stand together."
Sasuke emotions taking over as he leaned forward, his voice steady. "If you want a fight, we will join you. If you want peace, we will join you." His declaration resonated, the gravity of his words hanging in the air with his eyes landing on Sakura.
Itachi nodded in agreement. "All the kingdoms and clans in this village must work together to support one another. It seems the Uzumaki know they've messed up, but the question remains—can they actually fix it?"
Naruto, feeling the weight of those words, stood up. "I want to compromise," he said earnestly. "What if we could go on missions together? We can prove our dedication to our alliance by dealing with rogue threats side by side. We want to show our solidarity and commitment to making this work."
Sakura, her eyes blazing with conviction, shook her head. "I don't want you by my side when fighting, nor your people. Your family has already put me at risk one too many times."
Naruto nodded, understanding the pain behind her words. "I get it, Princess. But we all want peace. We need to show that we can work together, no matter how hard it seems right now."
The room was silent for a moment, the weight of their emotions apparent. Minato sighed, looking at his son. "Naruto is right in wanting to make amends. My clan needs to show our willingness to change and be better." He turned to Kushina, his voice low. "And we need to discuss your behavior, my love. This isn't like you."
Kushina's expression shifted to one of desperation. "We can't just throw everything away! We've worked so hard for our place here!"
Fugaku's voice cut through the rising tension. "Hard work is meaningless if it's built on the backs of others' trust. The Uchiha have put their past enmities aside, and it's time for the Uzumaki to stop trying to create divides."
Tsunade's eyes narrowed. "If the Uzumaki want to regain our trust, it starts with recognizing your faults. This is your chance to prove you can be an ally, not a liability."
Naruto's heart raced as he took a breath, knowing the stakes. "Then let us show you. Give us a chance to prove our loyalty through action."
Sakura crossed her arms, still unconvinced but intrigued by his sincerity. "Words mean nothing without deeds."
The Uchiha and Senju representatives exchanged glances, weighing the possibility of a fragile truce hanging in the balance.
"Very well," Fugaku said finally, "Prove you will be better with actions. But know that any further betrayal will not be tolerated. The future of our alliance depends on your actions from this point forward."
Tsunade nodded, her expression softening slightly. "This is your opportunity, Uzumaki. Don't waste it."
As the tension began to ease, the path ahead remained uncertain. Each clan knew they had much to prove, and the weight of their history lingered heavily in the air. The future of their alliance hung in the balance, with the threat of war and the power of the Nine-Tails looming over them all.
As the adults moved toward the final talks, Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, and Itachi stepped outside into the crisp air, the tension inside the hall palpable. Sakura turned to Naruto, her expression softening.
"I'm glad you want to marry Hinata for love, not just for power," she said earnestly. "It's refreshing to see that. I only hope you can live up to your words."
Naruto looked sheepish, scratching the back of his head. "I'm really sorry for asking you for your hand when I was with Hinata. I didn't mean to offend you or Hinata in anyway."
Itachi, sensing the need for some diplomatic discussion, stepped in. "We have a lot to discuss about our alliances and what this means for all of us," he said, his voice low and serious. "Perhaps we should talk about the rogue threats and how we can work together to address them."
Naruto nodded eagerly, grateful for the chance to discuss something constructive. "Yeah, I'd like that. I have some ideas about joint missions we could run."
As Itachi and Naruto moved a short distance away, engrossed in their conversation about alliances and strategies, Sasuke and Sakura found themselves alone.
Sasuke stood to the side, observing Sakura's tense posture. "If you want his mother's head, I can get it for you," he remarked bluntly, a hint of mischief in his voice.
Sakura shot him a warning glance. "Stop it, Sasuke. That's not necessary."
"However," Sakura continued, her tone softening, "I was surprised to learn that you and your clan would follow the Senju lead and even consider abandoning your alliance with the Uzumaki for this new one."
Sasuke sighed, his shoulders relaxing slightly. "It's not complicated, Sakura. We need to do what's best for everyone, not just our individual clans. My clan cares about the village and I care about you."
He took a step closer to Sakura, gently grabbing her hand. "Your advocacy has shown the strength of the relationship between the Senju and Uchiha. Our ancestors wanted this bond." His gaze intensified as he continued, "I will protect you from others, no matter what. I'd abandon all alliances to be with you. Together, we are strongest."
Sakura's cheeks flushed at his words, and she felt her heart race. "You don't have to say such things, Sasuke. I... I don't know what to say. Your words are... overwhelming."
"You were ready to give your life for me," he continued, his gaze unwavering. "When will you realize I would do the same for you?"
As he squeezed her hand, Sakura felt warmth spread across her face. "Mind your words and actions," she warned, though her tone was softer now.
"As you wish," he replied, before bringing her hand to his face and kissing it gently, letting go afterward.
Sakura's breath caught in her throat, the tenderness of the gesture catching her off guard. For a moment, the tensions of the meeting faded away, leaving only the two of them in this quiet bubble of understanding.
Just then, the doors of the meeting hall opened, signaling the adults were decided on their plans. Itachi and Naruto rejoined Sasuke and Sakura, a look of cautious optimism on their faces.
"We've discussed some potential joint efforts," Itachi explained. "It seems there might be a path forward, if we're all willing to work for it."
Naruto nodded, his expression serious but hopeful. "I can make this work. I have to."
The four exchanged glances, a sense of camaraderie blossoming between them despite the underlying tensions. Sakura's eyes lingered on Sasuke for a moment longer, a mix of emotions swirling in her gaze.
With newfound determination, they returned to the hall, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. Each clan took their lead, prepared to negotiate the future of their alliances—and their fates. As they walked, Sasuke's hand briefly brushed against Sakura's, a silent promise of support in the trials to come.
