Yo welcome back to another installment into The Naruto Uchiha Series. This was voing to be a one shot that would focus on how The Uchiha Resentment begins. However after like 20k words i figured id divide it into chapters. For sanity reasons. The idea came from a user who PM'd me about how Minato and Akane even ended up together verses Kushina and Minato. So, instead of just writing that user a BS answer, ill write a one shot instead. Anyways the main character is Naruto Uchiha's mother and father. There is a lot to cover, so expect numerous time skips until we get to Naruto's birth. Welcome to the Prequel! Enjoy the Read

The Uchiha Rebellion

Chapter 3: The Mangekyou

6 Months later

The crowd in the Chunin Exams arena buzzed with excitement as the semi-finals were about to begin. The sun was high, casting long shadows over the field as the spectators waited with bated breath for the next match.

In the arena, Akane Uchiha and Kushina Uzumaki stood across from each other, their faces tense but determined. Despite their friendship, today, they were rivals. Only one could advance to the finals to face Akimitsu Senju.

Akane’s heart pounded in her chest as she stared at her opponent, her Sharingan already activated. She had fought hard to reach this point, and now, she stood just one step away from victory. But her opponent wasn’t just anyone—it was Kushina, her friend, her ally, and one of the most powerful kunoichi in the village.

Minato sat in the stands, his blue eyes flickering between the two girls. His usual calm demeanor was replaced with concern. He knew how much this fight meant to both of them, but watching two of his closest friends battle like this… it was harder than he expected.

Fugaku Uchiha, seated in the clan head spectating box, watched the match with a keen eye. His cousin had proven herself in the arena so far, but this match would be different. An Uchiha facing an Uzumaki Jinchuriki was no simple fight. And he was eager to see how Akane would handle herself.

The proctor raised his hand. “Let the match… begin!”

Kushina didn’t hesitate. In a flash, she charged toward Akane, her fists glowing with chakra. Her fighting style was aggressive, each punch and kick coming with immense power and speed, but Akane’s Sharingan allowed her to see through the barrage. She dodged, weaving between the attacks with grace, her red eyes tracking every movement.

Kushina’s faster than usual, Akane thought, but she kept her focus, sidestepping another punch.

“Not bad!” Kushina grinned, her voice carrying a playful edge despite the intensity of the fight. “But you’re not going to win if you just dodge!”

Akane smirked, her Sharingan blazing as she swiftly retaliated, throwing a series of kunai toward Kushina. The Uzumaki blocked them with a swift swipe of her chakra-infused hand, but Akane was already on the move. She dashed forward, her movements quick and fluid, closing the gap between them.

The two kunoichi clashed in the center of the arena, exchanging blows at a speed that had the crowd on the edge of their seats. For a while, it seemed like they were evenly matched, neither gaining the upper hand.

But soon, Akane’s Sharingan began to give her an edge.

With each passing second, she read Kushina’s movements more clearly, predicting her attacks and countering with precision. Her three tomoe Sharingan glowed with power, her eyes spinning as she moved in perfect synchronization with the fight’s rhythm.

Kushina gritted her teeth, frustration building as Akane began to outmaneuver her. She’s… she’s getting faster!

With a swift strike, Akane landed a powerful blow to Kushina’s side, sending her skidding backward. The crowd gasped as Kushina staggered, struggling to regain her footing.

Minato leaned forward in his seat, his concern deepening as he saw the fight shift in Akane’s favor. Come on, Kushina… don’t give up.

From his position in the spectator’s box, Fugaku’s lips curved into a small, satisfied smirk. His little cousin was proving herself, and to him, that meant one thing: the Uchiha were superior. And to defeat an Uzumaki, a Jinchuriki no less, would be a testament to that fact.

Kushina, however, wasn’t finished. She wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth and glared at Akane, determination burning in her eyes. She could feel Minato watching from the stands, and she couldn’t bear the thought of losing in front of him—not like this.

As desperation took hold, Kushina closed her eyes for a moment, focusing inward. Deep within her, she could feel the simmering power of the Nine Tails. She had always tried to avoid using its chakra, but now…

I have to win. For Minato. I can’t let him see me lose.

When Kushina’s eyes opened again, they were no longer filled with desperation. Instead, they glowed with the eerie red of the Nine Tails’ chakra.

Akane’s eyes widened as she saw the familiar chakra cloak begin to form around her friend. The radiant, fiery energy swirled around Kushina, creating a cloak of raw power. The version one cloak flickered with dangerous energy, the sheer intensity of it enough to send a shiver down Akane’s spine.

Kushina… is really using the Nine Tails' power?

The ground beneath Kushina cracked as her chakra flared. She looked at Akane, her voice cold and sharp. “You’re trying to embarrass me in front of Minato, aren’t you?”

Akane blinked, taken aback by the accusation. “What are you talking about?”

Kushina’s chakra flared again, and she rushed toward Akane, her movements now even faster than before. Akane barely had time to react, her Sharingan spinning wildly as she dodged the oncoming attacks.

But Kushina didn’t let up. With the Nine Tails' chakra fueling her, she was relentless, each strike more powerful than the last.

“You think you’re better than me? That you can just show off in front of Minato?” Kushina shouted, her voice laced with anger. “I won’t let you take him away from me!”

Akane’s heart pounded in her chest, her emotions swirling in a chaotic storm. She hadn’t expected this. She hadn’t expected any of this. But as Kushina’s words echoed in her mind, something inside her snapped.

“I love him too!” Akane shouted, the words escaping her lips before she could stop them.

Everything stopped.

The crowd fell silent. Kushina froze mid-attack, her eyes wide with shock. Even Akane herself seemed stunned by what she had just said.

Did I really just say that?

In the stands, Minato’s heart skipped a beat. He stared at Akane, his mind reeling from the sudden confession. Without a word, he stood up from his seat and ran out of the arena, overwhelmed and unsure of what to think.

Akane’s eyes followed him as he left, her heart sinking into despair. She had just admitted her deepest secret, and the person she cared about the most had walked away.

Kushina, still wrapped in the Nine Tails' chakra, let out a scream of frustration. “Was this all just a game to you, Akane? Was our friendship even real, or were you just trying to steal Minato from me?”

Akane’s hands clenched into fists, her Sharingan spinning wildly as the weight of everything crashed down on her. She could feel her anger, her pain, and her determination all boiling over.

A game? she thought. My whole life I have to battle for everything! Minato's not even hers to have! He should be mine!

In that moment, her Sharingan evolved.

The tomoe in her eyes spun faster and faster until they morphed into a new shape—her Mangekyou Sharingan had awakened.

Akane’s voice was low, filled with both sorrow and resolve. “If I lose here… I’ll never have a future.”

Her Mangekyou glowed with immense power, and Kushina staggered as Akane activated a new technique, one that had only just awakened within her. The world around Kushina warped and twisted as she fell into the depths of a powerful Genjutsu.

Kushina let out a strangled cry as the illusion took hold, her body collapsing to the ground. The Nine Tails' chakra flickered and faded, leaving her unconscious.

Akane fell to one knee, her body trembling from the strain of using her newly awakened Mangekyou. The proctor stepped forward, glancing between the two girls before raising his hand.

“The winner is… Akane Uchiha!”

The crowd erupted into cheers, but Akane could barely hear them. Her vision blurred, and exhaustion overtook her as she collapsed, her world fading into darkness.

The crowd buzzed with excitement and tension as Hiruzen Sarutobi announced the final match of the Chunin Exams would begin in thirty minutes. Medical teams hurriedly attended to Akane and Kushina, both battered and drained from their intense battle. As Kushina lay unconscious, Akimitsu Senju rushed to her side, his eyes filled with concern. He knelt down, gently brushing a lock of red hair away from her face.

“She’ll be alright,” one of the medics assured him, but the worry in Akimitsu’s expression didn’t fade.

Meanwhile, in the medical bay, Akane slowly regained consciousness. Her body ached, and her mind was clouded with exhaustion. As her vision cleared, she saw a familiar figure standing at the foot of her bed—Fugaku.

For a moment, the room was silent, the tension between them thick. Akane couldn’t read his expression; his dark eyes betrayed nothing, but she could feel the weight of his presence bearing down on her.

“I…” Akane began, her voice hoarse, but Fugaku cut her off.

“The elders will be pleased,” he said, his tone cold and controlled. “You defeated an Uzumaki, a Jinchuriki. But your… confession,” he spat the word, “will be discussed as well.”

Akane’s heart sank at his words, but she forced herself to sit up, wincing as pain shot through her limbs. She wasn’t surprised. She had known, the moment those words left her mouth, that they would haunt her. Fugaku’s eyes bore into her, and for the first time, she wasn’t sure if he was proud of her or disgusted.

“Should you lose to the Senju boy,” Fugaku continued, his voice low, “there’s no doubt in my mind that you will lose your freedom. You know what that means.”

Akane felt a cold chill run down her spine. The clan’s rules… the restrictions they had placed on her future… they would enforce those rules with a brutal hand if she failed today. Fugaku’s gaze was unwavering, and despite the icy tone of his words, there was a weight of expectation in them.

“But,” he added, his lips curling into a small smirk, “if you defeat the Senju boy and his Wood Release, you’ll receive praise amongst the clan. Don’t disappoint us.”

With that, Fugaku turned and left the room, his footsteps echoing down the hallway. Akane watched him go, a mixture of frustration, anger, and fear swirling inside her. Her body screamed for rest, but she didn’t have time. She couldn’t afford to lose. Not now.

She grabbed a soldier pill from the table beside her and swallowed it, feeling the surge of energy it provided as her chakra began to stabilize. After some additional healing from the medics, she stood up, her legs still shaky but resolute. She had to go back out there.

The arena buzzed with anticipation as the final match was about to begin. Akane stepped out into the field, her Sharingan already activated, her eyes scanning the battlefield with the same intensity as before. Across from her, Akimitsu Senju stood, his calm demeanor masking the power he held within.

He looked at Akane, his eyes hard with both respect and determination. "You know, Orochimaru-Sensei trained me for this battle!" He stated. “I’m glad you defeated Kushina,” he said, his voice low so only she could hear. “I wouldn’t have the heart to hurt my precious rose.”

Akane’s eyes narrowed at his words, the pain of her earlier fight with Kushina still fresh in her mind. She thought of Fugaku’s warning—Should you lose to the Senju boy, there’s no doubt in my mind that you will lose your freedom.

Her Sharingan flared with anger, her focus sharpening as she mentally prepared for the battle ahead. There was no room for hesitation. She had to win.

The proctor raised his hand. “Begin!”

Akimitsu moved first, his movements swift and precise as he closed the distance between them. Akane was ready, her Sharingan tracking his every motion. They clashed in a flurry of taijutsu, each strike met with equal force. The crowd gasped in awe as the two prodigies exchanged blows with lightning speed.

Akane had the slight advantage, her Sharingan allowing her to predict Akimitsu’s attacks, but he was relentless. He quickly adapted, his movements becoming harder to read as the fight progressed. He was skilled, undeniably so, and the gap between them began to close.

Realizing he was losing the edge, Akimitsu stepped back and switched tactics. He formed a series of hand signs, and with a surge of chakra, his arms were coated in thick, gnarled wood. The wood wrapped around his limbs like armor, increasing the strength of his attacks.

“Wood Style: Piercing Root Fist!”

He charged at Akane, his wood-encased fists aiming directly for her. Akane barely had time to react. She leapt to the side, but one of the punches caught her in the ribs, sending her flying backward. She hit the ground hard, pain radiating through her body as she gasped for breath.

The proctor took a step forward, ready to call the match, but Akane slowly pushed herself back to her feet. Her vision blurred for a moment, but she forced herself to stay focused.

I can’t lose. Not here. Not now.

She could feel the weight of every expectation pressing down on her—Fugaku’s, the clan’s, even her own. Her body was screaming for rest, but her mind refused to give in. She thought back to her battle with Kushina, to the power she had unleashed in that moment of anger and despair.

I can use it again. I have to.

Akimitsu didn’t wait. He charged again, his wood-style arms crashing down toward her. Akane’s Sharingan spun wildly as she dodged, weaving through the barrage of attacks. She needed to create an opening.

Gathering her chakra, she formed the hand signs for one of her most powerful fire techniques. “Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!”

A massive fireball erupted from her mouth, consuming the battlefield in flames. The heat was intense, and the crowd gasped as the fire spread, the arena now engulfed in smoke and ash. Akane’s plan was simple—if she couldn’t defeat Akimitsu directly, she would make him pass out from the smoke.

But even as the flames roared around them, Akane’s body began to give out. She fell to one knee, the weight of both battles crashing down on her. Her breathing was labored, and her vision was beginning to blur. *I’m so close* she thought desperately. *I can’t stop now.*

Akimitsu, still shrouded in his wood-style armor, moved through the flames, his eyes locked on Akane. He charged again, ready to end the fight.

But something changed in that moment.

Akane’s Mangekyou Sharingan spun to life, the intense pain in her eyes signaling that she was about to use something powerful. The flames around her seemed to react to her chakra, swirling in tandem with her will. Her eyes burned with a ferocious glow as she activated a technique she had never used before.

“Hakai no Kaze!”

The flames were suddenly extinguished, but the battlefield wasn’t silent. A powerful gust of wind, infused with tiny, invisible slashes, surged toward Akimitsu. He grunted in pain as the microscopic cuts covered his body, his wood armor splintering and falling away.

Akimitsu dropped to one knee, still conscious but barely. Blood dripped from his wounds, and he struggled to stay upright.

But Akane had nothing left. She collapsed to the ground, her body finally giving in to the overwhelming exhaustion. The proctor glanced between the two fighters before raising his hand.

“The winner is… Akimitsu Senju!”

The crowd erupted in cheers, but Akimitsu didn’t move. He looked down at Akane, his expression somber. Despite his victory, he felt as though he hadn’t truly won. The fight had been brutal, and Akane had pushed him further than anyone ever had before.

As the medical team rushed onto the field, Akimitsu knelt beside Akane, his voice low. “I didn’t truly win this fight.”

Akane didn’t respond. She was already unconscious, her mind drifting into the void as the battle came to an end.

As you can see in this chapter, Akane demonstrates some personality traits that our protagonist Naruto Uchiha has.

Also, this chapter will be getting callbacks in The Uchiha Resentment. Huh, a black hair kunoichi and a red head jinchuriki battling it out with the main drama being a guy in the middle, ive seen this somewhere...
