Chapter V: Unexpected guest
Just a couple of days after Jiraiya was discharged from the hospital, Tsunade woke up. The 3rd Hokage was immediately summoned, and he has been made aware that just like Jiraiya, she has no memories of her adult life. Hence, the two Sannin were not only stuck in a physical body of a child, and even their memories has reverted back to the days when they were just Chuunin.
“Sarutobi-sensei, is something the matter? Even Jiraiya haven’t seen him after he was discharged from the hospital.” Call her bias, but Tsunade always preferred Orochimaru’s company and his presence alone could soothe her heart.
“Well, he is doing well—” It would be only a matter of time before he must tell the pair of what happened to Orochimaru. Sarutobi will be honest that he is not looking forward to it because it would definitely break their heart once the truth comes into light. However, he could not continue telling lies about the Snake Sannin for as long as he is alive. Although there was already a gag order in Konoha about the fiasco with Orochimaru. Of course, Danzo was not happy about it, and he told Sarutobi to stop coddling his students because at the end of the day they are ninjas.
“And what sensei?” Tsunade could hear the hint of hesitation and lie as their sensei speaks. She wondered why people seemed avoiding her whenever she asked them about Orochimaru. The Senju princess was aware that a lot if not most of shinobi find the Yashagoro clan frightening, but this is Orochimaru, a child protege and the last surviving member of the infamous clan.
Before the 3rd Hokage could speak, they heard a boisterous blond running towards their direction. Being near the boy, Tsunade could feel the presence of something familiar. She remembered her grandmother Mito and at the same time it was different.
“Jiji what will happen especially now that everything is back to normal?” Naruto completely ignored the kunoichi standing next to the Hokage at first until the said girl scoffed.
“Sensei is not deaf. There is no need for you to shout at him.” A frown is now visible on Tsunade’s pretty face. The boy reminds her of Jiraiya, her impetuous teammate and friend.
“Who might you be, dattebayo?” Naruto narrowed his eyes. Weird that she seemed to know the Hokage and yet this is definitely the first time he met her.
“Tsunade Senju” If she is uncultured, she would have snorted at the boy’s ignorance. How can anyone not know her even when the civilians knew about her and her family.
“Naruto! What did sensei tell us—” Immediately halting in front of the Hokage and Sannin, a pink haired kunoichi smacked the back of the head of the boisterous boy. Sakura swore that Naruto might have not been born even with a small amount of common sense. The Senju princess was no doubt the prettiest girl she ever met especially with her soft skin and majestic beauty.
“Sakura! You don’t have to be so mean, dattebayo.” Naruto rubbed the back of his head. Sakura has always been so violent when it comes to him.
“She would not have to do it if you aren’t an idiot. Let’s go. You are wasting our time.” Another boy spoke. His dark hair and dark eyes reminded Tsunade of an Uchicha and she was not surprised to see the Clan’s symbol knitted at the back of his shirt by the time he walks away from what Tsunade think would be his teammates. Huh, weird this team reminds her of her own team. She could not wait to tell Maru about this discovery for sure that her friend would love to meet someone who can cure his boredom.
“I am sorry about Naruto, Hokage-sama… Tsunade-hime…” Sakura was about to drag Naruto with her when a pair of Anbu showed up. They can all feel the palpable sense of emergency coming from the mask shinobi. Something must be happening. Hopefully, the Snake Sannin did not come back to cause more trouble and to take Sasuke away from the village. Thinking of what he could do more to their village did not only terrify the civilians but its ninjas too.
“Are you sure about that?” Aghast, Hiruzen shivered at the information coming from his ANBU. Orochimaru, his prodigal student is back. He knew that it would be difficult for them to protect the entire village if his former student will cause them another bloodbath. After all, the Yashagoro heir has surpassed him in all aspects of being a ninja. The terrifying power that he showed to them is nothing to be laugh about. Orochimaru managed to kill the 4th Kazekage and his elite bodyguards while he succeeded in manipulating Suna to go against Konoha. At the same time, he seriously injured Hiruzen Sarutobi during their fight. If not for Tsunade and Jiraiya’s arrival, the old man would have died. What made things worse was that former student has perfected some of the 2nd Hokage’s kinjutsu such as Shadow Clone Jutsu and the Edo Tensei.
“There’s no doubt about it, Hokage-sama. Hatake Kakashi, Sarutobi Asuma, Kurenai Yuhi and Might Gai along with the head of the Hyuuga Clan, Akamichi and Nara clan were nearby in case things will escalate—” One of the ANBU eyed little Tsunade behind his mask. They don’t have the heart to say in front of the Senju princess what have caused the entire elite ninjas to be on high alert.
“How would you like us to proceed, My Lord?” The other ANBU inquired. Orochimaru may have come back to the village, but just like his fellow Sannin the boy has no memory of what he did. The only good thing is that the Snake Summoner is in a child form too, but they cannot just simply underestimate him especially with how good Orochimaru is when it comes to all kinds of jutsu so henge will not be a problem for him either.
“Don’t hurt him. Tell Hatake Kakashi to keep an eye on the boy at all costs and do not let Danzo or the ROOT to take him with them. I will come for him shortly.” Hiruzen must check on Orochimaru as soon as he could, but right now, he must keep Tsunade away from him until they find a solution to the problem with all the Sannin.
