Kyuubi
When Kakashi was finally dismissed, team 7 returned to training as if nothing had happened. Kakashi and Obito were fighting as usual, Rin tried multiple times to calm them down. Nothing to talk about nothing to discuss about.
“Are you letting them continue this way, Jiraya-sensei? Usually I’d intervene by now” Minato spoke from a branch
“It’s amusing. How he has all that power and hasn’t even realized it. He was very loud inside Kushina but is hiding inside Kakashi” Jiraya smiled in amusement
“The sealing methods are different. His sealing was stronger. It shut the kyuubi deeper than where Kushina’s was” Minato pointed out.
“I’m well aware. However I loosened it up days ago”
“You what? Sensei! That’s irresponsible! Why would you do such thing?” minato asked in utter shock
“Because of his kekkai genkai. His body will inevitably adjust to the presence of the bijuu better than anyone else” Jiraya shrugged it down
“his kekkai?” Minato repeated as if he ddin’t hear correctly
“Can’t tell you much. All you need to know is that he can control the bijuu, I know he can”
“Hey! Sensei! Are you done smooching Jiraya-san?” Obito screamed gaining the attention of the two adults
“yeah yeah. We are sorry” Jiraya spoke nonchalantly
“Jirama-sensei” Rin greeted respectfully while Kakashi gave a small nod “what are you doing here?”
“He is going to teach us the Rasengan!” Obito cheered up
“You idiot. Jiraya sensei learned it from Minato sensei. Besides your affinity is fire. You can’t learn a wind style jutsu” Kakashi replied
“What?! Say it again Bakakashi! You don’t have affinity with wind either yet you learned it anyway!” Obito argued with him
“Settle down” Jiraya clapped his hands “We aren’t going to talk about new jutsu or learn anything of that kind. Instead we will be talking about the recent mission you went to”
It was clear that Obito and Rin were tensed just by rememebering it
“Didn’t we succeeded it? Aren’t the leaf shinobi safe and all healed up?” Kakashi asked as silence fell over them “what?” he asked noticing eyes on him
“You don’t remember Kakashi?” Rin asked
“Remember what?” he asked “I was knocked out, I remember that much”
“Bakakashi…you went crazy! You had this red chakra around you and you killed the stone shinobi like no big deal! Kushina had to use her binding chains against you!” he nearly yelled
“What are you talking about? I dopn’t have red chakra. Maybe you need to stop wearing these stupid googles of yours” Kakashi replied offended
“No he’s right” Rin piped in “Your chakra was definitely red. You had this tail behind you and with that you finished the job”
“I have an explanation for that” Jiraya gained their attention again
“Jiraya-sensei! We don’t have permission to talk about it” Minato spoke worried
“Don’t be silly Minato. Kushina’s situation was well known around the village, I don’t see how this is different. Besides if Kakashi has to give a chance to this…he’ll need his team’s help” Jiraya argued back. It was clear that the kids were now invested into this.
“I guess you’re right. But before we go further…remember this is a matter that has to stay between us 5, Kushina and the Hokage. You don’t talk about it to your friends, clanmates, family or anyone that asks you information”
“Sensei” Obito looked at him with scared eyes “You’re scaring me”
“what is it, sensei?” Rin asked
“I think you are well aware that Kushina is no longer a jinchuuriki” Jiraya started
“Yeah! That’s why the leaf kept getting attacked” Obito hit the palm of his hand with the fist of the other
“Exactly. What you witnessed last week…was a little portion of the bijuu power” Jiraya proceeded “we didn’t lose our jinchuuriki, simply the bijuu was sealed into Kakashi”
“me?” Kakashi asked perplex “But I don’t feel different at all. Why me?”
“We don’t know it yet. We don’t know how or who but the ninetails had been transferred into you. When Minato got hit, your desperation made you tap into his chakra. What your teammates saw was just you responding to your empotions”
“I don’t want it. Can’t you take it out and give it back to Kushina?” Kakashi asked
“Unfortunately we cannot” Minato kneeled in front of him “if we do, you’ll die. The extraction of a bijuu kills their jinchuuriki”
“Kushina is alive” Kakashi pointed out
“That’s because whoever did this…well knew more than we do. They knew how to transfer the kyuubi without killing their jinchuuriki”
“Seems to me that this person didn’t want Kushina dead” Kakashi observed
“How do you know?” Obito asked
“It doesn’t matter. Due this situation we’ll make some adjustments for the team” Jiraya commented again, all the present looking at him “for starters Kakashi will try to contact the kyuubi. The team will be suspended from the missions until everyone is capable of stopping Kakashi in case he loses control. In that matter, obito and rin you’ll train with kushina into seals. We need to be certain you know how to handle things. This is war after all, we cannot always be together and it can happen that minato and I aren’t always with you. And while Kkashi learns to control the bijuu, we need to make sure that slips can be taken care of. Understood?”
“yes sir” Obito and Rin nodded “Don’t worry Kakashi…we will help you”
“I’m so relieved” Kakashi rolled his eyes frustrated “Jiraya-sensei…with all the respect…I disagree” he stepped forward “This isn’t a war in which the kyuubi has to take part of. The war started because of the decisions of humans. I don’t get why this bijuu has to take any part in it”
“Because the tailed beasts are under the control of a human” Minato stated “their job is to keep the world in balance and the jinchuuriki id there to use their power to do so”
Kakashi scoffed. It seemed a poorly made excuse. It wasn’t a bijuu that started wars, it wasn’t them arguing over lands and they, according to what he had gathered from Kushina, didn’t ask to be sealed inside humans. By the way Kushina talked about it, it seemed the bijuu wasn’t happy at all.
“So…how does Kakashi talk with this beast?” Rin asked
“By digging into his mindscape. Kakashi…look inside your chakra coils. You’ll find an external chakra flowing within you…try to follow it and see where it comes from” Jiraya instructed
“and then what? Ask them to pay rent?” Kakashi scoffed
“more or less. Try to see if he knows or saw the person sealing him in you. But don’t believe everything he says. The kyuubi might offer you his help opr something that might look good. Know not to trust him” Minato instructed.
Kakashi sighed sitting down and starting meditating. Following the chakra seemed somehow stupid. The flowing red chakra was hard to miss. Against his white chakra it was visible and soon enough the young Hatake found himself into what appeared to be sewers.
A voice broke the silence in his mind—a low, rumbling voice that seemed to reverberate in his very bones.
“Finally you stopped ignoring me”
"I wasn’t ignoring you. I was just hoping sensei was wrong."
Kurama’s voice chuckled, dark and amused, echoing in Kakashi’s mind like thunder. "You think he is lying? We’re bound together, kid. You don’t get to just wish me away." There was a pause, the fox’s tone growing more teasing. "Besides, I was watching your little performance earlier.”
Kakashi’s jaw tightened, a bitter feeling rising in his chest. "I didn’t ask for your chakra, and I don’t want it. You’re inside me, but that doesn’t mean I’m accepting this… situation."
Kurama’s tone shifted, like a predator enjoying the discomfort of its prey.
Ah, the denial. It’s almost cute. You’ve been using my chakra since the moment you got me. You think I don’t know what you’re feeling? You think you’re the first person to resent me? Please." The voice deepened, growing more serious for a moment. "But you can’t keep running from this. You’re stuck with me whether you like it or not. Denying it will only make things harder for you."
Kakashi grit his teeth, feeling the familiar pulse of the fox’s chakra stirring within him, but he refused to acknowledge it. "I didn’t choose this. I didn’t ask for this power. If I could get rid of you, I would." His voice was sharp, the frustration spilling out. "You’re nothing but a burden."
Kurama’s voice was laced with amusement, though there was a hint of something more ancient in it—something that Kakashi couldn’t quite grasp. "A burden, huh? You used my chakra in battle, I felt it. You’re telling me you didn’t enjoy that rush? That raw power? And still you pretended it was just adrenaline"
Kakashi didn’t answer right away. He remembered the battle—the way the chakra had surged through him, the way he’d felt like he could do anything. It wasn’t just raw power; it had felt right, like a part of him he didn’t want to admit existed.
But admitting that meant accepting the bond—the very thing he didn’t want. "That doesn’t change anything. I won’t rely on you. I won’t need you."
"You say that now, but you know as well as I do that there will be a time when you do need me. And when that moment comes, you’ll beg for it." The voice lowered, almost a whisper, a soft growl. "Trust me, kid. I’ll be waiting. And I won’t make it easy on you."
Kakashi’s fists clenched, frustration boiling over. The fox was right in a way, but that didn’t make it any easier to hear. "I don’t care. I’m not you. I don’t need you." His voice was steady, even as doubt gnawed at the edges of his words. "You’re just a part of me that I didn’t ask for. And I’ll find a way to control it—control you."
Kurama’s laugh echoed in Kakashi’s mind, a deep, rumbling sound that reverberated through his chest. "You think you’re in control? Oh, how naive. You’ve barely scratched the surface. I can feel how you’re struggling. But don’t worry, I won’t bite… yet." There was a pause, as if Kurama was savoring the moment. "I’ll give you this much credit, kid—you’ve got guts. Too bad they won’t save you when the time comes."
When Kakashi was finally dismissed, Team 7 returned to training as if nothing had happened. Kakashi and Obito were fighting as usual, and Rin tried multiple times to calm them down. Nothing to talk about, nothing to discuss.

Kakashi shook his head, refusing to let the fox’s words get to him. He pushed off the tree and stood up, staring out at the horizon, trying to shake the feeling of Kurama’s presence gnawing at him from within. "I’ll figure this out. One day, I’ll be free of you."
The voice was silent for a long moment, before Kurama responded, more contemplative this time. "We’ll see. You can keep telling yourself that, but I’ll be here. Always."
Kakashi’s eyes opened seeing the concerned faces of his teammates.
"So? What did he say?" Minato asked.
"I'm not sure. I...think I got on his bad side."
