To Change Fate
Itachi POV:
It’s Nighttime, the stars shine on the Uchiha Shrine Entrance between the trees. Everything is silent. The only sound Itachi can hear is his own hearth beating.
There he is.
A Man came out of the entrance stepping into the night without leaving a trace, be it smell, disturbances or even Chakra. He could be mistaken for a Ghost. Where there not the two glowing Sharingan looking up to where Itachi was hiding and challenging him to come out.
There is no going back now. For Sasuke!
With the mental image of his brother in mind, Itachi jumped down and landed before the taller man.
„Evening Madara San, i thought that you wouldn’t mind company and a chat. After all it would be a shame to have to call alarm if a fan of yours wants to share a mutual benefitting deal with you.“
There. I was respectful and showed i know more than i let on. The fear of being discovered should hold him off from attacking and lastly, my own inspiration for him, should make him interested into hearing me out without leaving.
„A Fan who has a benefitting deal in mind. Not something you hear everyday. Especially from a Uchiha who knows who i am.
Are you sure you should not rather hate he?“ The now confirmed Madara asked Itachi.
The older seemed calm and in no fear of losing control of the Situation. Either he didn’t believe Itachi that reinforces would arrive should Itachi scream, be convinced he can stop Itachi and the reinforces or was inclined to believe that the younger was really an Allie and this meeting wouldn’t require him to be nervous.
Hopefully it is the last reason.
„Why should i hate the only other Uchiha who is like myself? We are not like the rest of the clan and because of that I see you as my mentor. I want to share my idea with you, after all it was you who inspired this.“
There was a short break before Madara answered. „An idea inspired by me and a deal which will be beneficial for myself. Given to an Uchiha who claims to be like me. What an interesting sweet talker you are. But i am to old for this and have no time for games. So come to the end. What is your proposition? Talk fast and be clear and i will think about your words. Speak in riddles and die.“
My Time is up. I hoped to get a read on his personality before asking him if he wants to kill the Uchiha. But i have no other option than to believe the story’s about his hate for the clan.
„I want to measure my power and hopefully increase it by killing the rest of the clan. They are rude, disloyal and weak and so i will stop them from dishonoring the Uchiha name. I will take revenge for all their did to me and I ask you to join me. There is a chance someone will get away and get help so an Allie would be welcome. In exchange you can finally fulfill your own revenge that night, without anyone knowing except the traitors which you kill. Does that sound like a fair deal?“
There! The cards are on the Table. If i am correct Madara will love the opportunity to take revenge with no one chasing him afterwards. And As a supposed fellow madman there is no reason for him to look deeper into my actions.
Deep laughter broke Itachi out of his thoughts.
„There exists a Time where i would have taken your word for it and agreed. We would have made plans and restrictions and that would have been the end for the clan. But now times have changed. Everyone i hated is gone or about to die. There is no reason for me to hold the next generation accountable for crimes they did not commit. So i will not help in your afford.
But maybe we still can make a different kind of deal? If you are willing to tell me what really drives your so called revenge.
I saw that desire long enough in the mirror to know you don’t possess it.
What harm can there be in telling your true reasoning to a Ghost with no chance of telling anyone about what he heard?“
Instead of acting any way the genius could have predicted Madara sat on the grass and black eyes showed up to Itachi while patting the ground next to him. This confused The kid so much that he found himself already sitting next to the older before realizing the opening he made in his defenses. But no attack came just a look from a stranger who suddenly, after all the years of not having anyone listening to him, felt more like a friend than he should.
He doesn't want to kill me and he is right. Madara can not go to Danzo and tell him I shared his plan with him. Fugaku and the Uchiha are no option either. So he really has no one to tell.
Maybe if he knows that there is no other way he could still agree to help me? After all What else do i have to lose?
I dont have the power to kill everyone on my own. I am only 13. My body isn’t fully grown and nether are my Chakra reserves. My Mangekou is great, but i lack experience in using it and i can‘t overuse my eyes in one fight. Dad on the other hand had his longer and doesn’t need to fight after or before we clash. That doesn’t even mention all the other Uchihas who would have the Sharingan or at least Ninja skills. They could attack together or someone could escape. My mission is a failure if anyone gets away besides Sasuke and i need to stay alive to make sure he can become a Hero by killing me.
I need someone’s Help and nobody else can get involved.
„I dont know if you realize the Situation the Uchiha Clan is in since you left the Village. But there are constant Tensions between Konoha and the Clan. Everytime there is something bad happening the Clan is the first to get suspected. We are guilty until proven otherwise and if we can’t disprove it, we take the blame.
After the nine tails attack this escalated.
The fourth Hokage never mentioned he was attacked by an Uchiha. The Demon always had red eyes and would attack the village on his own free will if it got free. Which was suspected would happen. My mother told me there were preparations made. These could have failed or some one else could have sabotaged them. But no evidence remained after the attack.
The Idea that we are responsible simply because we had the ability to do something like this or because we didn't stop it is wrong. No one even knows if controlling the Fox is even currently possible. That we didn't stop it was because we were ordered to the border. But the damage was done and the clan got relocated and we are isolated and hated.
Sadly i believe we deserve it. Instead of trying to prove our innocence we aggravated everyone. The great Uchiha clan, constantly locking down on others, telling them how much better we are. Why should the normal citizen not believe we did it?
Than the Clan decided they want to start a coup. They will kidnapp the nine tails and do the exakt thing we were blamed for. Innocent People will die and we will not profit from this. Should the coup fail every Uchiha with no exception will be killed and the Clan will be dishonored for all time. This is the most likely outcome. Should it succeed the people will never trust the Uchiha again and riot against us. All those different Clans against one who has around 100 People in it with 30 being to old to fight or not trained as Shinobi? It is a question of time before we all die. No option leads to victory. It could even develop into a new war and the destruction of Konoha. But nobody will listen.
I plan to kill them all myself. This way i can protect the innocent, prevent war, save the Uchiha name and give the one Person who was uninvolved in all of this the chance to live. My little Brother Sasuke. He is my reason why i have to do this. This is the best way for everyone, the only choice. Please help me Madara San.“
Itachi was begging now. He felt like a child. All the despair of the Situation coming up again.
Madara put his hand on Itachis back.
„The Only Choice. That is what you said, right? However are you sure about that?“
„What do you mean?“
„That is the Problem with Geniuses. If i give you a task it will be completed like it should have been. No creativity solutions needed. This is why you lack the skill to improvise or see things from different perspectives.
Once you were given two options, of letting the Uchiha destroy themself or do it for them, you chose the best option. But were unable to see that there are more solution than given to you. This is not your fault. You are still a minor. As such it is my obligation to teach you. Are you willing to listen to my solution?“
I should leave. It was not right to share such information with the enemy! It is not right for me to allow such contact! It will not be right to listen to him!
But maybe i really can save them all? Madara is a legend, so he could have the answers to this problem. Should i just ignore him when i already got this far?
A Memory flashed in Itachis mind. Shisuis wish. „I want to save them all Itachi. The Uchiha and Konoha.“
I owe it to Shisui to try. „Tell me what solution I missed Madara San. How can i save them all?“
a short breath was heard in the clearing of the shrine as Madara fixed Itachi with his gaze.
“Its simple really. All the Clan has to do, is leave Konoha.“
