Sakura knew she wasn’t a perfect mother.
She knew she would have done some things differently but the way things had turned out, it really wasn’t so bad.
However, she thinks back on how she could’ve done things differently.
For instance, trying to explain to her beloved daughter, Sarada about her father, Sasuke.
Sakura was perfectly aware that Sarada missed her father dearly. The poor girl would always come up to her asking her why her father hasn’t returned to them yet.
Of course she couldn’t tell her the full truth at the time since she was a child but she didn’t lie either when she told Sarada that Sasuke was on an important mission.
But of course there was more to it. Even Sarada knew that was why she would from time to time come up to Sakura and ask her about Sasuke repeatedly over and over again.
Unlike Sakura, Sarada didn’t realize how important this was for Sasuke and this is where Sakura realized her mistake.
She has thought Sarada was too soft to know about the full truth, or at least a part of it. She didn’t seem to realize just how important this was for Sarada to know about Sasuke.
She thought she had made things clear but it seemed like she didn’t. Especially after she had that chat with Shizune did she fully understand her mistake.
Sarada was old enough to finally start wondering about her father, even going as far as to seek answers for herself. Something she couldn’t provide for Sarada.
Sakura finally realized just how grown up Sarada is. She had become independent at a young age so it would make sense that she would start to do things most kids wouldn’t do at their age.
Sarada started learning how to cook when she was 10, and then would start doing chores such as mopping, grocery shopping, and even laundry. All the while she would try and keep up with her studies.
Sakura couldn’t have been more proud. But at the same time, she felt as if she hadn't given enough considering how Sarada was. She knew that she had a part to play in her sadness.
If only she had made things more clear to Sarada perhaps she wouldn’t have to be so melancholic. Who knows how long she was feeling this way all because of her ignorance.
Even so, she had to say that she did a really good job in raising Sarada without Sasuke to help her.
