Birds. That’s what the sound was. It was the sound of 1000 chirping birds. The sound was coming from his hand. Kakashi was confused on why he was using Chidori when he no longer had the sharingan to accompany it. It had been a few years since the Fourth War ended. So why? Why did he, have a sharingan? And why was he in a shorter, prepubescent body? This moment felt familiar to Kakashi, like he had seen this exact moment over and over again. Then it clicked. It was the night he committed something he could never forgive himself for. Killing Rin. He looked up to see an enemy Kiri nin in front of him. Through the sharingan he could see a glimpse of Rins chakra approaching and Obito’s signature sitting idly in the bushes. He continued forward with the momentum of Chidori. Then Rin jumped. He was prepared for her to jump and he had cancelled out his jutsu by redirecting his chakra through his arm, the opposite way. He charged the Chidori back up his arm, electrocuting and harming himself in the process.
Obito saw this in the distance. He saw Kakashi heading towards a nin with Chidori in his hand. The sound of birds echoed through the forest. Then it went silent. Not in a way where the screams of victims silenced the forest but as if the birds stopped, right before their prey, sabotaging themselves. Obito was watching Kakashi closely, remembering that Guruguru told him that his teammates were in danger. Seeing Rin in front of Kakashi, as if she was the nin Kakashi intended to kill. He had no 2nd thoughts, how could Kakashi just kill her? She was what he left Kakashi to protect and he just disregards it and goes on and kills her!? He stomps his way to his teammates about to throw punches to Kakashi.
“Kakashi…”
“What the fuck was that for Rin? You know Minato-Sensei is a seal master. He could’ve helped you. Why would you use me to commit your suicide?”
“Kakashi…. I don’t know! I can’t go back home! I’m a ticking time bomb! I’m sorry but there’s no other way!”
Kakashi turns around to observe the enemy nin. Even though he, had traveled through time, his emotional balance hadn’t. He had said everything he has been wanting to say for years now. Why had she done it to him? She knew his past, his father, so why him? He left Rin alone with her thoughts. And throws one of his sensei’s kunai into a tree- aiming for where Obito is crouching. Charging forward into the groups of Kiri nin. He has killed countless amount of people in his last life- and has no problem doing it again. By the time he is done mass murdering the enemy shinobi, Obito has come out of the shadows.
