Chapter 5
Madara woke up cuddling to Tobirama, the beautiful omega sleeping soundly. He brushed the white hair off the other’s forehead before getting up to make them breakfast. Before that, he fixed the kakebuton, wrapping it around the other man, the senju humming in snuggling into the pillow with a faint smile.
He went to the kitchen ready to prepare a light breakfast for the omega and something more hearty for Izuna and himself, he noticed the omega couldn't stomach much, especially in the morning.
“ You're up early!” His brother groaned and his cheery tone.
“ When will I get to cuddle up to him?” Even in the morning, Izuna was a brat. He wanted to spend alone time with Tobirama as well, always screeching about the omega being his rival and that he should be getting dibs.
“In your dream, Izu.”
“This is not fair, he isn't your omega! And by the old laws, I should be allowed to cuddle with the omega!” In old laws, when there were still a few omegas going about, it was a rule to shower one with affection all the time, ensuring they were always protected. Since outsiders targeted omegas, it was a privilege to a clan to have some omegas at all.
“Not yet…”
“ What, no no fucking way, he's MY RIVAL, so I shou-”
“ Good morning Izuna, Madara.” The object of their affection and conflict entered the room.
“ Good morning, Tobirama-hime! Right on time. I just finished preparing breakfast!” He balanced all 3 plates skillfully, trying to impress the albino, showing how good of a mate he could be. Tobirama gently thanked him, and they started eating.
“Is the food to your liking, Tobirama-hime?” the alpha gently asked.
“ Yes, also, you don't have to call me that all the time…” The omega corrected demurely.
Madara grinned bigger, ignoring his brother’s glare. As they finished their food, Izuna stormed out, but Madara didn’t care, he could wallow in his pity all he wanted.
“ Have you been in contact with my brother?” Tobirama asked with evident worry in his voice. He didn't like to leave the Senju without preparations, he was aware of how bad Hashirama was at keeping up with clan duties.
“ A bit, yes. Why? Are you so worried?” Madara curiously looked at him. His chakra was full of worry.
“He is my brother, of course. I will be worried about him and the clan. He also isn't very diligent with his duties…”
“ Ah, yes, I see. Uh, hime…I have a question for you.” The alpha looked at him with hope in his eyes, it made Tobirama feel warm in his chest.
“Yes?” Tobirama lifted a curious brow.
“Will you let me court you?” Madara cupped his pale hand in his own; the contrast between their skin tone might not have been as drastic as with Hashirama, but it was still there.
Tobirama froze all of a sudden. He had to admit that he liked having Madara’s attention. His feelings for the man grew stronger, but that couldn't be, they were both men, and as such, they could never be. “We can't be together like that…I'm a man…” And Madara was clan head, he needed an heir and-
“ I know, I prefer the company of men. If you fear for our union, let's not. You're an omega Senju-hime, you can carry my children even if your primary gender is one of a man, I-”
“ Madara-sama, the Senju attacked the western border!” A guard ran into the kitchen, and Tobirama quickly slipped his hands free, afraid he'd be punished for such indecency.
“ I see. We'll continue this conversation after I get back!” Madara stood up abruptly, preparing himself for battle.
“ MADARA! Return my brother to me!” Hashirama bellowed.
“ In your dream, Hashirama!” The Uchiha hissed. Their battle was going on for a while now, with Hashirama pushing hard on him. Using sneaky tactics, trying to impale Madara, really trying to kill him. But the Uchiha had no plans of giving Tobirama away to the Senju. They didn’t care for the omega properly, so why should they be allowed to have him back, let alone see him ever again?
“ Then you leave me no choice…Touka!”
The woman fighting Izuna quickly ran away to a safe distance and blew into a Hatake battle horn. Soon, a bunch of chakra signatures revealed themselves, and many shinobis joined the Senju side, outnumbering the Uchiha greatly.
This was bad. Very, very bad. There were howls from the four-legged companions as they joined the battle. They were outnumbered, and if they fell in battle, their compound would be invaded. Madara growled with anger, releasing his killing intent and made a decision to kill as many Senju and their allies as possible, starting with Hashirama.
Many of the Uchiha shinobi followed him. They were outnumbered, and now it was a fight to the death, they had to win, or the whole clan would die.
Tobirama collapsed, he could sense the change of mood on the battlefield, it became too intense.
“What is happening?” The young Uchiha guard who had caught him asked. Tobirama was seething. What the hell is happening, indeed, because this wasn’t supposed to happen. It didn’t last time, but many things happened that shouldn’t have, and Tobirama was somewhat fine with that, but never had he thought Hashirama would do that. He was always so focused on peace, but this was not how you get peace. Tobirama used to have his reservations about peace, but he enjoyed it when he had it.
Closing his eyes, he focused on the new chakra signatures. “They brought the Hatake and Inuzuka!” He sneered.
“What!? Why?”
Tobirama looked at the teenager with a pained expression. “They think you’re holding me hostage…we’re still at war. They think you’re torturing me.”
“WE WOULD NEVER! OMEGAS ARE PRECIOUS. WE WOULDN’T DO THAT TO YOU, SENJU-HIME!” The teen started to tear up, he was still young and inexperienced, so Tobirama patted him on the back. He gazed at the other two guards who shared the teen’s sentiment.
“I know you wouldn’t, but they don’t. Now, you’ll stay behind, and you two follow me. I need to go on there to show I’m fine!” He commanded. The two older guards nodded, and all three of them dutifully followed his demands.
Tobirama ran to the battlefield, seething, his anger built up, and he felt a powerful feeling in his chest when he got close enough. “STOP!” He used that voice again, and the whole field froze.
“Tobi!” “Hime!”
“What do you think you’re doing, Hashirama?” He gritted out as he got closer to the two clan heads, stopping beside Madara, a safe distance from his brother. He knew Hashirama was an emotional buffoon, who made bad decisions, but he didn’t know it went to this extent. But then again, Tobirama never left Hashirama alone without detailed instructions on what to do and what not to do. “What were you thinking? Were you thinking at all?”
“We wanted to get you back, Tobi…” Hashirama whined as usual.
“And I appreciate it.” He pinched the bridge of his nose between his eyes. “But I know you didn’t think this through it at all! We had an agreement with the Uchiha’s that we won’t attack civilians and if this is going where I think it is going…” He groaned.
“We wouldn’t!” Hashirama whined. Tobirama didn’t dignify that sentence with words as he scanned the Senju side of the battlefield before looking down at Hashirama with a disapproving look. His brother whined. “ I wanted to get you back Tobi…”
“And I appreciate the effort, but THIS!” He threw his hands up. “Is madness. How do you think you’ll achieve peace with the Uchiha if you wipe them out?”
“ You want peace?” His brother screeched.
“ Yes!” He buried his face in his hands “ I'm tired, Hashirama…I don't want to live in fear till the end of my days, I don't want to lose you…” He sighed. “ I want peace…” He looked at Madara with determination in his eyes.
“ If peace is what you want, Hime, then we'll work on it…” Madara eagerly smiled. For Tobirama-hime he would do this, and a more selfish part was dancing as the elders wouldn’t dare to argue with an empress. They were far too eager to have him. When Madara returned from the battlefield carrying an unconscious Tobirama, they were up in arms, asking for the Senju’s head and worse. However, when he told them about what happened, they were eager to have the keep the omega within the Uchiha lands. They were ready to fulfil any of the omega’s wishes.
“ Thank you Madara-sama.” He softly smiled, ignoring the growling heard from the Senju side. He made his way to his brother’s side, ready to finish the old scrolls he had worked on since the river incident. When a flash of black hair interrupted him, appearing in front of him and blocking his path.
“ Where are you going?” Izuna inquired impatiently.
“ Home, to start working on the treaties.”
“ We'll come with you then!” Madara stated. There was no place to argue, and Tobirama only nodded with a faint smile. From his previous life, Madara was a protective and kind man, even if he didn’t show it often because of Izuna’s death. He wondered how he’d be this time around, would he be kinder, softer, happier? He’ll have to find out. He couldn’t stop smiling at the thought that there will be peace, safety and a place for children to grow safely, to be strong and healthy.
