The thing The cub did (I gotta find a gender neutral name, a nickname or something) is a Kekkei Genkai but it has long been forgotten to the present day.
Basically cub tied their chakra and their soul to the Leader the chakra was just the visual representation
And that's the start of the White Chakra, their souls just mixed
Like in Undertale where souls are different colors just when you die your soul does shatter and disappear it turns white and able to access the spiritual world/Pure lands
But with the dieing Leader, he was literally a moment from death or just died but it was still close enough to grasp
But yeah, that's also how the Hatake clan got their wolf attributes, gray hair like a wolf's fur, sharp teeth, good sense of smell and hearing, ect
But yeah they soul bonded now
Their a pack their not allowed to die on them.
The next story is probably gonna be a love story and I'm already bad at this so it's gonna suck worse

The Kekkei Genkai is nearly impossible and others might just pass it off as a different clan with an animal theme
They were out for a few days afterwards
The man was cub's bio father, they were abandoned on purpose, a sign of bad luck their bio father said.
They do have siblings! And this is very in the past so they have a lot of them.
3 siblings (Bio parents) and 5 step siblings. They never met them, other than the one time.
But cub doesn't know English so they were very confused and feral, they bit one of their older siblings (They didn't taste good :c)
The wolves found them in the first 3 hours of being abandoned at around 5 - 6 months old, it was a puppy pile to make sure they lived (It took a bit for them to figure out they needed to keep the pup warm. They had no fur! How did you not figure that out sooner!)
