The Mask Stays On… For Now

As If being summoned, Tobi skips to the group from a far "What is everyone talking about? seems fun! Count me in"

You light up at his arrival, quickly stuffing the little bottle of Viagra behind your back before anyone can snatch it away. "Oh, Tobi! Perfect timing!"

Deidara, panicking, nearly lunges for you again, but Hidan holds him back, howling with laughter.

Tobi tilts his head. "Eh? What's going on?"

You grin at him. "Tobi, do you... have any secret troubles you need help with?"

Tobi's head bobs up and down. "Oh yes! Tobi struggles all the time! Life is so hard for poor Tobi! Deidara-senpai is always so mean to me!!"

Deidara visibly deflates in relief, exhaling deeply as you squint, debating whether you should actually go for it.

"Hmmm, if Deidara-senpai is always mean to you, you can always come to me... for any favor... I'll be happy to help..." you smile innocently.

Tobi claps his hands together excitedly. "Really, (Y/N)-chan?! Tobi can count on you?"

Deidara, sensing danger, immediately jumps in. "O-Oi, don't just accept favors from her! You don't even know what she's talking about, un!"

You tilt your head at Deidara, eyes twinkling with mischief. "Awww, you're worried about Tobi? That's cute."

Deidara grits his teeth but doesn't deny it.

Meanwhile, Tobi hums in thought. "Hmm... well, now that you mention it... Tobi has been very stressed lately! Maybe (Y/N)-chan can help relieve Tobi's stress?"

The room goes silent.

Hidan wheezes. Kakuzu shakes his head. Deidara looks like he's about to explode.

You blink at Tobi, biting back a shit-eating grin. "Oh? I'd be delighted to help."

"Really, really? No backies?"

"Nope" you pop the P at the end to shows your seriousness.

"Yaaaaay! (Y/N)-chan is so kind to Tobi!"

Deidara grabs you by the shoulders immediately. "What the hell are you saying yes to, un?!"

You blink up at him, feigning innocence. "I'm just being a good friend! I can't leave poor Tobi all stressed out, can I?"

Hidan, still wheezing, throws an arm around Kakuzu. "Hey, Kakuzu, how much you wanna bet this is gonna end in a shitshow?"

Kakuzu hums, arms crossed. "I'm not wasting my money. This already is a shitshow."

Meanwhile, Tobi nods rapidly. "Yes, yes! (Y/N)-chan is the best!" Then, he pauses, tilting his head. "But wait... what kind of stress relief are we talking about?"

The entire room freezes.

You just grin.

"Be my guest" you smile through your teeth, all innocent.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean, un?!" His hands twitch at his sides, like he's debating whether to shake you or throw a clay bomb at your feet.

Tobi, oblivious as ever (or so he wants people to think), starts clapping. "Yay! (Y/N)-chan is so mysterious! Tobi loves surprises!"

Hidan wipes away a fake tear. "God, I fucking love this place."

Kakuzu just sighs. "If you all get us kicked out of another hideout, I'm not paying for the next one."

You beam at the chaos you've created. "Aww, you guys have so little faith in me." You place a hand over your chest dramatically. "I am nothing but a woman of pure intentions."

Deidara and Hidan simultaneously burst out laughing.

"So anyway, I was thinking.... maybe we could have a sleepover at my room?"

Tobi stiffens before reacting like he usually would when faced by an unpredictable situation you throw his way "Ohh! Tobi loves a good ol' sleepover!"

Deidara's jaw drops. "What the fuck, un?! You—You can't just—!" He makes some incoherent gestures, his face rapidly turning pink again.

"It appears that Deidara might be lonely.. Maybe, we can invite him to our little party?"

Deidara chokes. "LIKE HELL, UN! KEEP ME OUT OF YOUR PERVERTED SHIT."

Tobi tilts his head. "Ehhh? But Tobi just wants Senpai and (Y/N)-chan to bond! We can have a little sleepover, it'll be fun~"

Deidara turns scarlet. "I SWEAR TO GOD, TOBI, I'M GONNA BLOW YOU TO PIECES."

Hidan is wheezing at this point, slapping the counter. "This is the best fucking day ever."

You, meanwhile, casually lean toward Deidara with a sly smile. "Hmm, I dunno, I think Tobi has a point. Maybe we should bond more."

Deidara stumbles back, nearly tripping over his own feet. "STAY AWAY FROM ME, UN!"

"Alright, fine. I respect it.... You dont like me... we all get it," you say in an attempt to sound sad "Well, maybe Im the one that needs comfort..." You look down on your feet all melodramatic and shit..

Tobi gasps dramatically. "Oh nooo! (Y/N)-chan is sad! Tobi will comfort you!!" He throws his arms around you in an exaggerated hug, swaying side to side.

Deidara clicks his tongue, rubbing his temples. "Tch. You're so dramatic, un."

"Yeah, no shit. But hey, keep going—this is great entertainment." Hidan snorts.

You let out a long, suffering sigh, leaning into Tobi, hands wrapping around his back. "At least someone here cares about me... I guess I'll just have to rely on Tobi from now on..."

Deidara grits his teeth, visibly irritated. "Oh, for fuck's sake, un! I never said I don't like you!"

You immediately perk up, eyes shining. "Oh? So you do like me?"

Deidara's face explodes into a deep shade of red. "THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT, UN!!"

"Which one is the truth here? do you like her, or not?" Hidan nudges him with his elbow.

Deidara scowls, crossing his arms. "I—Tch! That's not the point, un!" He grits his teeth, looking away in frustration.

Hidan grins, clearly enjoying the chaos. "Oh, it's totally the point. Come on, spit it out, blondie. You got a crush on the newbie or what?"

Tobi gasps loudly, letting go of your form and raising his hands up in a surrender mock. "Senpai has a crush on (Y/N)-chan?! KYAAAH~!!"

You tilt your head innocently, watching Deidara struggle. "Well? I'm waiting~"

Deidara groans aggressively, fingers twitching like he's fighting the urge to throw a bomb at someone. "I—I tolerate her, okay?! That's all, un!!"

Hidan cackles. "Ooooh, 'tolerate,' huh? That's what we're callin' it now?"

Kakuzu, who's been silent this whole time, sighs deeply. "This is the dumbest conversation I've ever had the misfortune of hearing, I think Imma' go." Kakuzu says like anyone cares about his input.

You beam at Deidara. "Aww, so you do care!"

Deidara growls, turning on his heel. "I'M LEAVING, UN!!"

Tobi waves enthusiastically. "Bye-bye, Senpai~! Don't think too hard about (Y/N)-chan~!!"

Pleased with your teasings, you excuse yourself from the group. For whatever reasons, Tobi seems to be going along with the whole act. You're not sure if he knew exactly what you were referring to but hey— a win is a win. Not that you actually expected him to come looking for you later anyway.

What a great day today.

You stretch your arms with a satisfied sigh as you make your way back to your room. The day had been entertaining, to say the least—teasing Deidara, making Konan your new bestie, and stirring up chaos with Tobi. What more could you ask for?

Just as you're about to enter your room, a cheerful voice pipes up behind you.

"Y/N-chan!"

You freeze.

Turning slowly, you find Tobi standing right behind you, tilting his head like an eager puppy.

"You forgot, silly! Tobi is here for the sleepover!" He claps his hands together excitedly.

...Oh.

You didn't actually think he'd take you seriously.

Now what?

"Uh, come on in" you say hesitantly, opening the door just enough for him to squeeze through. Well, your room is boring and uninteresting so you're not really sure what to do here.

Tobi happily skips inside, looking around with an exaggerated tilt of his head. "Wow~! Y/N-chan's room is so... plain!"

You deadpan. "Gee, thanks."

He flops onto your bed without hesitation, arms spread out like a starfish. "But it's cozy! Tobi likes it~!"

You cross your arms, staring at him. "So... what exactly do you plan on doing here?"

"Eh?! Y/N-chan invited Tobi, but doesn't have a plan?! That's so mean~!" He pretends to sob into his hands.

You roll your eyes but smirk a little. "Well, what do you usually do for fun?"

Tobi perks up instantly. "Oh! Tobi plays games! Like hide and seek! Or pranks! Or... bedtime stories!"

You raise your eyebrows at this. "...Are you a child?"

He gasped again, placing a hand over his heart. "Y/N-chan! How could you?! Tobi is a respectable adult!"

You snort. "Sure. A very mature adult."

He nods enthusiastically. "Exactly! Sooo... bedtime story? Or prank someone?" He leans in. "Tobi votes pranks."

"Well, Im quite the prankster myself, so I get it," you admit with a shrug. "But I've already messed with Deidara today."

Tobi gasps, placing his hands on his masked cheeks. "Ehhh?! Without Tobi?! That's so cruel, Y/N-chan~!" He dramatically falls back onto your bed.

You roll your eyes, crossing your arms. "Relax, drama queen. There are plenty of other people to mess with."

Tobi sits up excitedly. "Oh! Oh! What about Kakuzu? He's always sooo grumpy~! It'll be fun!"

You hum, considering it. "Hmm... tempting. But that old man might actually kill us."

Tobi waves a hand dismissively. "Nahhh~! He won't! Probably!"

You squint at him. "That's not very reassuring."

Tobi giggles, tilting his head. "So? Should we do it? Or does Y/N-chan want to prank someone else~?"

"I dunno, Tobi. You've probably been here longer than I have," you say, eyeing him suspiciously. "Pranking Kakuzu is ambitious. Feels like you're suggesting him just to get me killed."

"Y/N-chan! How could you say that?! Tobi would never do such a thing~!"

"Mmm-hmm. You sure about that?"

Tobi nods enthusiastically, his mask bobbing with the motion. "Of course! But... if you do die, Tobi will make sure to give you a very nice funeral~!"

You stare at him.

He tilts his head. "Ohhh, does Y/N-chan not like funerals?"

"...I'd prefer not to need one, thanks."

Tobi giggles. "Then let's prank someone less... murder-y! How about~... Itachi-san?"

You blink. "You want me to prank Itachi? That's not a bad idea but I barely know him and he’s always flexing his eyes. I fear I might actually die before I can even do anything."

Tobi waves a hand dismissively. "Pfft, Itachi-san wouldn't do that~! Probably."

You frown. "I swear you're trying to get me killed."

Tobi wiggles his fingers mysteriously. "Or am I trying to make Y/N-chan stronger~?"

"...It's definitely the first one."

"Maybe that's enough pranking for today... I'd say it was a great success. No need to overdo it," you declare, pointing a finger like some sophisticated lecturer. "Being greedy comes with consequences."

"Ohhh, Y/N-chan is so wise~! Like a real philosopher!"

"Exactly. I am a scholar of great intellect."

"Tobi is so honored to be in the presence of such genius~!"

You snort. "Glad you understand."

"Sooo... if pranking is off the table, what shall we do, Y/N-chan?"

You invade his personal space, scooting closer on the bed "Well, would you like to find out?"

Tobi freezes, his masked face tilting slightly as if processing your sudden closeness. "O-oh? Y/N-chan is being very mysterious~!"

You grin mischievously, leaning onto the soft bed with a casual ease. The mattress creaks under your sudden weight as you smirk. "Maybe I just like keeping you on your toes."

"Ooooh, how exciting! But, but, what if Tobi gets too excited? What if Y/N-chan is playing a trick on poor, innocent Tobi?"

You lean in even closer, voice dropping to a whisper. "Then I guess you'll just have to take the risk and find out."

Tension.

Feeling the heat, you push yourself off the bed and casually unzip your Akatsuki robe—making a show of it, but in the most nonchalant way possible. With a flick of your wrist, you toss the garment straight onto his head. It's humid, and there's no reason to wear an extra layer in your own room. But honestly? You mostly did it because you thought it'd be funny.

Tobi flails his arms in exaggerated panic as your robe lands on his masked face. "WAAAH! Y/N-chan, what are you doing? Tobi can't see! Tobi is under attack!"

You snicker, watching as he dramatically stumbles around, tugging the fabric off his head. "Relax, drama queen. It's just my robe. It's hot, and I'm in my own room. What, are you scandalized?"

Tobi presses his hands against his mask, shaking his head rapidly. "Tobi is a good boy! Tobi is not looking! No peeking! Nope nope nope!"

"You are looking, though."

Tobi stiffens before quickly spinning around to face the wall. "Tobi is not looking! Tobi is a respectful gentleman!"

You chuckle, plopping down on your bed again. "Relax, I'm not naked. I'm still wearing this sundress."

Tobi peeks over his shoulder hesitantly. "Ohhh... well, Tobi wasn't worried! Tobi knew that! Haha... ha..." He awkwardly shifts in place, still holding your robe like it might explode.

"Uhm, Okay. Maybe it's time for us to sleep. What do you think?" you tilt your head.

Tobi perks up, tilting his head in sync with you. "Oh! Is Y/N-chan asking Tobi to sleep together?"

You blink, then scoff, shaking your head. "Don't flatter yourself. Maybe you can sleep on the floor. I doubt there's enough space for both of us to sleep in this bed.... unless?"

Tobi gasps, clutching your robe to his chest. "U-Unless...?! (Y/N)-chan, what are you suggesting?!"

You smirk, raising a brow. "I dunno, you tell me."

Tobi flails his arms, spinning in a circle like he's malfunctioning. "Aaaah! Tobi's innocence is being tested! This is a trick, isn't it? Tobi won't fall for it!"

You roll your eyes, patting the bed beside you. "Relax, I was just messing with you. You can take the floor or squeeze in if you want. I don't care."

Tobi freezes for a moment, as if actually considering it.

You climb onto the bed, crawling toward the far side before flopping down with a blank expression. Tilting your head, you stare at him, eyes laced with lazy curiosity. "What do you think? Enough space for you to squeeze in? You've got quite the bigger frame, after all."

Tobi tilts his head, tapping his chin in exaggerated thought. "Hmmm... (Y/N)-chan is right! Tobi is a little bigger... If Tobi squeezes in, (Y/N)-chan might get squished! What a dilemma..."

You stare at him, unimpressed. "It's really not that deep."

Tobi suddenly flops onto the bed beside you with zero hesitation. "Okay! Tobi has decided! Sharing is caring!"

You blink at how fast he changed his mind. "That was quick."

"Mhm! Tobi is very adaptable!" Tobi nods enthusiastically, wiggling under the blanket.

You lay on your back, staring at the ceiling. "Right. Well, don't move around too much or I'm kicking you off."

Tobi nods again, though he's already fidgeting. "Of course, of course! Tobi will be still! Like a rock!"

You narrow your eyes at him. "You're literally vibrating."

Tobi freezes mid-wiggle. "Oh... oops."

The two of you lie there on the bed in complete silence, the awkwardness settling in like an unwanted guest. You can't sleep—there's no way you could. The bed is spacious enough for both of you, yet something about the situation feels... off. Slowly, you crane your head towards him.

Tobi lays there completely still, facing the ceiling like a mannequin. His breathing is slow, controlled—almost too controlled. You narrow your eyes.

"...You awake?" you ask, voice hushed.

Silence.

You frown, shifting closer. "Hey."

Tobi remains perfectly motionless.

Now suspicious, you squint at his mask, trying to determine if he's actually asleep or just messing with you. Then, out of nowhere—

"BOO!"

Tobi suddenly jolts upright, grabbing your shoulders.

You yelp, nearly jumping out of your skin. "WHAT THE HELL—"

Tobi bursts into laughter, rolling onto his back again. "Ahahaha! (Y/N)-chan is so fun to tease!"

You clutch your chest, heart pounding. "I swear I'm going to murder you in your sleep."

Tobi wiggles happily under the blanket. "Oh nooo~ Scary~ But if (Y/N)-chan kills Tobi, who will be your cuddle buddy?"

You glare at him, exasperated. "Who said I needed one?"

"So cruel! (Y/N)-chan wounds Tobi's heart!"

You sigh, turning away from him. "Whatever. Just—go to sleep." That caught you off guard. You supposed, it's not fun being on the receiving end of teasings.

Tobi hums, snuggling into the pillow. "Mmkay~ Goodnight, Y/N-chan~"

You huff, closing your eyes. "...Mhmm."

Minutes pass—maybe partial ones, maybe whole—but sleep still refuses to come. Your heart is racing for reasons you'd rather not acknowledge.

You blame Earth.

How is anyone supposed to sleep in these conditions? Sharing a bed with a human of all things? It feels unnatural. Slowly, almost hesitantly, you scoot just a little closer, peering at him through the dim light.

Tobi is unnervingly still again, like a statue. His breathing is even, slow—too perfect to be real sleep.

You narrow your eyes. "You're faking it, aren't you?"

No response.

You inch closer, squinting at the eye hole of his mask, trying to make out any movement. "Tobi, I know you're awake."

Still nothing.

You purse your lips, contemplating, before exhaling dramatically. "Fine. If you're really asleep, I guess you wouldn't mind if I just..."

You slowly lift your hand, fingers hovering over his mask. A small, smug grin tugs at your lips. Let's see how long he can keep this act up.

Then—

A hand shoots up, snatching your wrist. Before you know it, you're flipped over, laying on your back again with Tobi on top.

Your breath hitches.

His weight pins you down, gloved fingers still curled tightly around your wrist. The playful energy from before is gone—replaced by something heavier, something that makes your stomach flip.

"You're a real menace, you know that?" His voice is different this time. Lower. Smoother.

You're completely taken by surprise. No words, no responses comes out of your mouth. Your heart races so fast you fear he could have heard them.

Your lips part slightly, but no sound escapes. The way he's looking at you—or at least, you think he's looking—makes your skin prickle with something you can't quite place.

"Tobi...?" you finally manage, voice quieter than you intended.

He tilts his head, a low chuckle vibrating from his chest. "What? Surprised?"

His grip on your wrist doesn't tighten, but he doesn't let go either. His body looms over yours, close enough that you can feel the warmth radiating off him. It's overwhelming. The usual goofiness, the playfulness—it's gone.

You swallow hard, suddenly hyperaware of everything. The weight of him pressing you into the mattress. The way his voice, deeper and more controlled, sends a shiver up your spine.

And then, just as suddenly as he flipped you—he lets go.

He pulls back, settling beside you again like nothing happened. Like he didn't just completely short-circuit your brain.

"Goodnight, (Y/N)-chan~" His voice is back to its usual sing-song tone, full of mischief.

You lie there, staring at the ceiling, pulse erratic.

Oh.

Oh, he's dangerous.

What the fuck was that?

That was.... kind of scary and hot in a way.. like maybe you're a bit turn on at that unpredictability. His voice—it changed. He dropped the act, if only for a second. And in that fleeting moment, you caught a glimpse of something raw. His real self. He's unpredictable. Mysterious. So... intriguing. it makes you want to..... push his buttons, to get closer, to see just how deep that mystery runs.

You bite your lip, staring at the back of his head. There's something about him—this constant tug-of-war between ridiculousness and something else lurking beneath the surface. It makes you want to test the limits.

You inch closer. "...Hey, Tobi."

He doesn't move. "Mmm?"

"...If I touch your mask again, what will you do?" Your voice is barely above a whisper, teasing, challenging.

For a moment, nothing.

Then—

Tobi shifts slightly, rolling just enough to face you. Even though his face is hidden, you feel him looking at you.

"...Are you trying to find out?" His voice is different again—soft, amused, but with something unreadable behind it.

Your heart skips a beat.

You were joking—mostly. Teasing, pushing, seeing how far you could go before he snapped again. But now, with him facing you, that unreadable tension hanging thick between you, you're not so sure anymore.

"...Maybe,"

Another pause. Then, Tobi chuckles. Not his usual goofy, exaggerated laugh, but something quieter. Smoother. It sends a shiver down your spine.

A beat of silence.

"You really are a menace," he murmurs.

You don't move. Neither does he. The air between you crackles, thick with something unspoken.

Your fingers twitch at your side. You could reach for his mask again. You could push further, see what happens when you press just a little more.

You swallow hard, suddenly aware of how close he is. How this game, whatever it is, feels like a dangerous line you might actually want to cross.

"You're really trying hard to push my buttons don't you?" His voice is relaxed as he say this. Soft but intimidating.

His voice—it's so calm, too calm. But there's an edge to it, something simmering just beneath the surface. It's like standing too close to a fire, feeling the heat lick at your skin, daring you to step closer.

Your lips part, but no words come out at first. Then, finally—

"...Maybe," you admit softly.

Tobi tilts his head slightly, as if studying you. His gloved fingers flex at his sides, and for a fleeting second, you wonder what would happen if you reached for him—if you dared to close that final bit of space between you.

"You really shouldn't," he says, his voice smooth, almost amused. But there's something else there, something darker.

Your heart pounds. You know you shouldn't. But the question lingers in your mind—what if you do?

His eye follows as you drag your fingers, but not towards his mask, just the hem of his sleeves. Tugging them just a little.

Your gaze flickers back at the singular hole on his mask, daring. Eyelashes fluttering. You figure not reaching for the mask would be enough to test your limits.

His breath hitches—so subtle you almost miss it. Almost.

You feel the tension in the air shift, thickening like a storm about to break. He doesn't stop you, doesn't pull away. Instead, his body stays eerily still, as if waiting.

Your fingers toy with the fabric, barely brushing against his wrist. He follows your movements, his breathing steady but heavier now.

"You're playing a dangerous game," he murmurs, voice lower than before, almost thoughtful.

You hum, tilting your head slightly. "Am I?"

A beat of silence. Then, he leans in just a fraction closer—not enough to touch, but enough for you to feel the weight of his presence, the heat radiating from him.

His fingers twitch, then, before you can react—he grabs your wrist again, but this time, slower. Deliberate. His grip isn't tight, isn't harsh, but it's enough to make a point.

Enough to send a shiver down your spine.

"...Careful," he warns, softer this time. But he still hasn't let go.

You swallow hard. It felt like the temperature in the room has rises, you could have mistaken the AC for malfunctioning— Just like you.

You're sweating bullets. His hand— while gloved feels intimate in a way. Maybe because it's Tobi. The man child of mystery. There's something really wrong with you if you think this is.... sexy in anyway.

Tobi or whoever he really is, doesn't move. He just watches you, still holding your wrist.

The air between you crackles with something unspoken. Tension. Curiosity. A challenge neither of you have put into words yet.

You inhale sharply, trying to will away the heat creeping up your neck. "You're holding on for a long time, Tobi," you finally say, voice light but slightly shaky. "What, afraid I'll do something reckless?"

A slow chuckle. It's not the usual high-pitched, goofy laughter—this one is lower, rougher.

"Maybe." His thumb brushes against the inside of your wrist, just barely. You shiver.

Then, just as quickly as he grabbed you, he lets go.

"You're fun, (Y/N)-chan." His voice is back to its usual playful tone. "But you should really be more careful."

With that, he shifts back, settling comfortably like nothing happened.

And yet, you can't shake the feeling that something definitely did.

"...Goodnight, (Y/N)-chan," he repeats, this time softer.

You exhale, watching him for a moment longer before finally closing your eyes.

Damn.

You're definitely pushing his buttons again tomorrow.

A few hours has passed, Tobi— well, Obito turns to the other side to look at your sleeping form.

You're such a character. Perhaps, Zetsu is right. You're fun, sly, conniving and maybe a bit insane.

He sits up, lifting his mask up just by a little bit. The cool air brushes against his exposed skin as he lifts the mask just enough to breathe properly. His gaze lingers on you—completely knocked out, unaware of the scrutiny you're under.

You sleep like you have no worries in the world, arms crossed over your chest like a vampire, face serene. It's... oddly endearing.

Obito tilts his head slightly. What is it about you?

You're unpredictable. Annoying. Shameless. And yet... you've managed to wedge yourself into the cracks of his carefully built walls, slipping through like water, like his kamui.

He exhales quietly, running a gloved hand through his hair. This wasn't supposed to happen.

You're just another nuisance. Another piece in the grander scheme of things. Yet, there you are—peaceful, vulnerable, completely unaware of the chaos you've started within him.

Obito lowers his mask back into place, fingers lingering over the edges. If you were awake, you'd probably have some stupidly cocky remark about catching him staring.

Maybe it's nothing.

Maybe you're just a passing distraction.

Or maybe—just maybe—you're something far more dangerous than that.

"...Tch," he mutters under his breath, shaking his head.

This is dangerous.

And yet, for some reason...

He doesn't really mind.

Turning his back to you, he closes his eyes. He won't let you get under his skin. Not any more than you already have.

The next morning, Deidara was jolted awake by a loud, violent knock on his door.

He grumbles, burying his face deeper into his pillow, hoping—praying—that whoever it was would just go away. But the relentless pounding continues.

"Alright, alright, I'm awake, you piece of shit," he growls, voice laced with exhaustion.

Reluctantly, he swings his legs over the edge of the bed, his feet meeting the cold floor with a hiss. Muttering curses under his breath, he trudges toward the door, already regretting waking up at all.

The perpetrator behind this was none other than the Jashinist. "Oi," Hidan greets, flashing an Up-To-No-Good grin.

Deidara squints at him, barely awake, rubbing his eyes in frustration. "What the fuck?! Do you even know what time it is, un?!"

"I set an alarm just for this shit," Hidan announces, far too pleased with himself. "You're coming with me."

Before Deidara could even protest, an arm hooked around his neck, yanking him forward with zero room for negotiation.

"What the hell?!?"

"Shh, be quiet. 'Else we might wake em' up"

Deidara raises his eyebrows, noticing how he's being dragged towards Tobi's floor.

"Heard the newbie lives in that retard's floor. Let's go see if they actually had their sleepover"

Deidara's sleepy brain barely registers what's happening before Hidan is practically hauling him down the hall. His bare feet drag against the cold floor as he scowls, trying to wrench himself free.

"What the fuck do you mean 'sleepover'?!" he hisses in a hushed voice. "The hell are you on about?"

Hidan snickers. "Oh, don't play dumb, brat. You saw it too—Tobi was all over her yesterday. Who knows what kinda freaky shit happened behind closed doors."

Deidara grits his teeth. "Tch. You're an idiot."

"An idiot with evidence."

They finally reach the door to your room. Hidan presses his ear against the wood, eyes narrowing in concentration. Deidara sighs, running a hand through his hair, already regretting getting dragged into this.

Then—a noise.

Hidan smirks, grabbing Deidara's wrist and forcing his palm against the door.

"Knock."

Deidara glares at him. "Why the fuck would I—"

Hidan knocks for him. Loudly.

Silence.

Then, shuffling noises. A rustling of sheets.

And finally—

A low, groggy voice from inside.

"...ughh"

Deidara freezes. That wasn't your voice. That was—

Hidan nearly chokes trying to hold back his laughter. He's gripping Deidara's shoulder, shaking with barely contained amusement.

"Ohhh shit," he wheezes. "That wasn't (Y/N)— that was Tobi!"

For Obito, this was... weird.

The plan was simple—leave your chamber early in the morning like some casual fling, a one night stand, a friends-with-benefits perhaps. Sneak out without a word, no fuss, no attachment.

But now? Now, he was second-guessing everything.

He hadn't accounted for the sheer weight of being a complete dickhead when he woke up next to you. His body was close—too close—caught in the undeniable warmth of shared proximity.

Except... you weren't all that warm.

Your skin was cool, almost unnervingly so. Not freezing, not burning—just perfectly in between. Like something that wasn't entirely human.

The unspoken distance he had so clearly established between you had been violated. Somehow, at some point in the night, you'd ended up under his embrace.

Obito tensed.

Slowly, carefully, he pulls himself away, every movement calculated—terrified that even the slightest shift might stir you awake.

This is dangerous.

Why the hell had he indulged in this stupid sleepover? He plays around too much, trolls too hard—so hard that now, he's tangled himself in your web.

The last thing he needed right now was a loud, violent knock echoing through your chamber.

His jaw tightens.

The urge to activate his Sharingan was tempting—and, after a moment of internal debate, he gave in. Crimson flickers to life in his gaze as irritation settled deep in his bones.

With a begrudging sigh, he slips out of your bed, movements careful yet sharp. Whoever was outside clearly had zero patience, and if he didn't deal with them soon, they'd end up waking you—something he really didn't want to deal with.

Before turning the knob, he knows exactly who it is. Little Deidara and Hidan. Up to no good this early in the morning. Given he's already irritated by what happened yesterday and being woken up this early in the morning, he figures he could indulge in this drama.

With one last glance at your sleeping form, Obito—no, Tobi—plasters on his usual playful facade. His annoyance was still there, simmering beneath the surface, but it wasn't anything he couldn't twist into something entertaining.

He yanks the door open dramatically.

"Good morning, ungrateful peasants!"

Hidan and Deidara both jerk back. Hidan recovers first, grinning ear to ear. "Ohh, fuck yeah. I knew it."

Deidara, on the other hand, looks like he wanted to punt himself into the sun. His face scrunches up in immediate regret. "Tch. I knew this was a bad idea."

Tobi tilts his head, crossing his arms. "Oh? You knew? Knew what, exactly?" He leans forward just slightly. "C'mon, Deidara-senpai, use your words."

Deidara scowls. "Don't start with me."

Hidan snickers, elbowing him. "Oi, brat, ain'tcha curious?" He turned back to Tobi, eyes glinting with mischief. "So? You and the newbie, huh?"

Tobi gasps theatrically. "Hidan, you wound me! I am but an innocent man of mystery! Whatever could you be implying?"

Deidara looked like he was about to have an aneurysm. "Tobi."

Tobi hums. Then, very deliberately, he stretches his arms over his head, cracking his shoulders. The motion pulled his cloak just slightly, revealing that he was still in his undershirt—meaning he had actually slept here.

Deidara's eye twitched.

"Ohhh, shit—" Hidan doubles over, laughing. "You really spent the night?! No way! This is the best fucking thing I've heard all week!"

Deidara's face twisted in something ugly. His hands clenched into fists. "I— you— you're fucking with me!"

Tobi clasps his hands together. "Oh, Senpai, do you wish I were?"

Hidan wheezes. Deidara looks two seconds away from committing a murder.

And behind them, unnoticed in all the chaos, a new figure has arrived.

"...What's going on here?"

The three of them froze.

It was you. Standing in the doorway, arms crossed, voice groggy but sharp with suspicion. One of the straps on your shoulder has deliberately falls to the side, revealing more of your skin.

Tobi turns his head toward you, body blocking the other two from view.

Then, he sighs dramatically.

"Ahhh, my dear Y/N-chan," he laments, shaking his head. "We've been caught."

Deidara absolutely loses his shit.
