Unwanted Attention
Kylie underestimated how much attention she would draw from simply getting a map. She was unaware now but rumors started to fly out from the mill about a white haired man with sky blue eyes who bought a map with a strange gold coin. Nobody could make heads or tails of what the symbol on it came from. Strangest of all was the flying machine, the man could have been a clone (people have been exposed to clones to have heard or have had some encounters with them), but nobody has ever seen a machine like that before.
So far the gossip is just among other merchants and villagers in the area, but who knows how long that will last. The book merchant was already getting ready to move to the next village. His prospects were already low due Gato running this place dry, and it wasn’t like any of the thugs he hired or Gato himself were the type to be interested in books. It was rather unexpected that he got any business at all, especially from that strange man he assumed must be a ninja.
One of his stops just so happened to be Konoha, a prosperous village that he had connections in and an old friend who he now had an interesting gold coin and a story to tell.
Kylie on the other hand, had no idea of the stir she had caused, nor the consequences . . . but ROB did. He was having a great time watching this. Kylie could have simply listened to some of the merchants on the road, since there were some merchants who already had plans to have a stop in Konoha. Then all she had to do was follow them from afar, no embarrassing, attention grabbing interactions needed. The best part was that unlike human reality tv, he could directly interact with the characters (though more often than not he preferred the hands off approach).
Suddenly the symbol that Kylie had engraved on that coin was now on each of her drones, and even on the discrete entryway of her base in the forest. There was also an inbox notification on the computer, against her better judgement, Kylie set the drones to autopilot and opened up the newly discovered (or created) email tab:
Kylie,
It seems that you have adopted a new symbol with your latest excursion. I have taken the opportunity to imprint the symbol on all your equipment. I have also made it so that if you try to remove them they will just reappear somewhere else.
PS. This is a one way communication line and you will be unable to send anything out through email to me or anyone else.
Kylie may or may not have broken a few dishes before she calmed down after reading the email. It seems ROB has decided to make himself more interactive in his entertainment than she initially thought. There could be multiple reasons why he did that, and she did not like the implications.
