I haven't watched the show and in purely in the fandom soooo ....

Shadows and the Nara right?

So let's just say that some shadows have a personality or a shadow of a personality like people's shadows have personality they've been there your whole life and you rubbed off on them
Same with animals

Maybe with like really old objects/things shadows have a hint of personality cause they've seen a lot.

Shades = friendly! need to grab something? You use them

Shadows = not friendly! They will bite
