When souls connect
It was a long and tedious day, Sakura was sick of Ami and her friends teasing her about her forehead, she listened to inner for once and fought back.
Ami and her minions learnt to stop troubling her for a while in fear of getting a bloody nose, Sakura decided not to get her hopes up though sometimes they just don't know when to quit.
She went to the park in hopes of making a friend, Most people found her colourful appearance to be “odd” Most people In Konoha have duller coloured hair, (aside from Naruto) compared to everyone else she stood out like a sore thumb. She could hear the parents telling their children not to play with her, thinking she was a spy.
She didn't want to befriend Naruto, not because of what the adults say but because of his weird obsession with her, other than being loud and doing pranks he seemed pretty chill despite what the adults say, she saw him more as brother if anything, ... .Sasuke? Haha! absolutely not! It was tiresome pretending to be his fangirl, it was something she had to do for “facade” lessons in her kunoichi classes and she hated it. Not to mention he was full of himself and clearly wasn't interested in befriending anyone who wasn't Itachi
As she continued to walk through the park she noticed a boy with long brown hair and beautiful moon coloured eyes staring down at the ground.
He looked up, noticing her gaze on him, “Can I help you?”
Sakura immediately snapped out of her daze and answered “You look lonely, wanna play Kemari?” more like she was lonely but she won't admit that
Instead of dismissing her, he looked intrigued “I have never played that game before nor heard of it”
Sakura's eye lit up he didn't say no that must mean yes she started to explain the game
“The objective of Kemari is to keep one ball in the air and continually kick towards each other…….”
she stopped herself from rambling “You're supposed to have more people though….”
“I don't mind that, I think you're enough”
Sakura smiled “okay then let's play”
The two of them started playing for what felt like hours
Eventually Sakura stopped first letting the ball that Neji kicked hit her chest and fall to ground then turned to wipe her face
Neji looked concerned. “What's the matter?”
Sakura sniffed “N-nothing just got eyes in my something”
Neji slightly chuckled “You mean you have something in your eyes”
Sakura refused to turn “Hey I can help-” As he gently moved her shoulder with his hand she turned to look at him with teary eyes
“Ugh this is so embarrassing!” she turned back to punch a nearby tree “Fine you're the only person other than my parents to play Kemari with me! Big deal!” she turned away from him once more huffing.
Neji gives Sakura a snowflake necklace “Here, take it as a token our companionship”
Sakura stopped huffing “it's beautiful, thank you”
Sakura took off a cherry blossom bracelet she was wearing “it's not as beautiful as this necklace but take it as a token too”
Neji smiled slightly “it's pretty thanks” He looked around “it's getting late I need to get going now”
Sakura noticed how late it was too dark and sighed “Yeah it is, I'll see ya around?”
Neji nodded “See you around Sakura” walked off
Sakura walked off in her direction
my first friend
