Chapter 22
Miranda pov
Stepping in I see everyone has taken off to check Dani while leaving the Black God with the maids, they keep offering her different things and shoving each other away trying to catch her attention, walking over I keep my hands together held in front of my waist.
"Yes Miranda" she grunts while pushing a maids hand away.
I see the maids shock at how she spoke but tilt my head down "thank you for helping her" I say seeing her eyes widen as her face goes red.
She makes a sound like a mix between a growl and and groan before shaking her head and walking away, looking at the maids I see some greet me while others watch the Black God with lustful eyes making me frown.
Turning I follow her up the stairs seeing she keeps tilting her head listening and either hides from wondering maids or follows the sound of Angie talking.
"Why are you hiding?" I finally ask.
She shrugs motioning over herself "technically I'm a type of siren, unlike mermaids a Cecaelia is so beautiful a human mind can't comprehend it and it causes them to see us as monsters".
"A sirens song brings men in" I counter.
"Incorrect, a female sirens presence will lure in anyone attracted to females, if we sing we can guarantee they won't be able to resist even if they could ignore our presence"
Frowning I look at her seeing a smirk on her face, she suddenly grabs my arm yanking me down a hall to stand behind an armor statue.
Before I can snap I hear another set of footsteps and peek out seeing a maid stood frozen looking at her, she starts humming and after a moment the maid comes closer with a glazed look in her eyes and a happy smile.
The maid stops in front of her easily taking her hand, I watch shocked hearing a hauntingly beautiful voice vocalizing before she starts singing, the words are a language I've never heard but the rhythm seems familiar to me, I feel like I'm supposed to stop her from singing that song, like it's forbidden but I don't know why since I can't understand the words.
Hearing a new song start I again can't understand but feel my stomach clinch in excitement and fear till I see the maid leaning towards her like she's about to kiss her, Nova suddenly stops singing and the maid looks at her confused.
I step out finally, seeing the maid suddenly pale and rush off to continue working "if this happens with anyone attracted to females why does Alcina and the girls not get caught in the pull?"
She smiles shrugging "because they're stubborn maybe, I've never met anyone who could resist it before if they have even a slight attraction to females, even you when we first met was pulled in to it" she answers.
"Nova" Angie screeches coming up suddenly.
I watch her easily catch Angie and kiss her head "Hello bridezilla, am I firing your planner?" She says sarcastically.
"Yeah her" Angie answers pointing to me before cackling "now come on Alcina heard you singing, Bela and Dani want to meet you also".
