(Reuploaded) I've found you π
Halloween was approaching fast, and she needed to figure out a plan. There was this crazy stupid thing that Minori had dragged herself into. Her best friend Kohane wanted to set up a test of courage event for their class for Halloween. The nearby forest was so close, and it was definitely spooky. So spooky, In fact, many were too scared to go near it. "Come on," Kohane insisted. Minori was extremely hesitant considering the murky atmosphere. The two girls head into the forest, and try to map out a plan for their test of courage. Minori and Kohane set foot in the forest, and their ears are immediately filled with sound of crows cawing. It was truly haunted. At least, that's what Minori believed. Kohane goes to turn around when she heard a scary 'snap!' Minori turns around soon after, but kohane is nowhere to be found. "Kohane?" She repeatedly yells. No response.
It has been a week since the dreadful occurrence, and Minori was stuck in the woods with nothing but herself and a dead cellphone. Her stomach grumbled. She hadn't fed herself in a week, and there were no signs of food nearby. She'd tried to find her way home, but the woods were like a maze. With every turn, she found herself more lost than before. She sat back down, and a teardrop welled in her eye. She was exhausted, scared, and hungrier than ever.
As Minori's tears start to fall, a strange silhouette appears. It was like something out of a movie. A girl's figure was standing right below the moon. "Hello? Who's there?" Minori anxiously stutters. "Oh, no need to be afraid! I'm here to help you! I take it you're lost?" "I am. I just want to go home," Minori pleads. "Alright, then. Let's get you home. Where do you live?" Minori explains to the best of her ability what has happened. Her words are broken and frail, and she's incredibly weak. "Are you hungry? You don't seem to be doing so well," the mysterious figure asks.
Β
The mystery girl pulls out a handful of fresh picked blueberries out of her pocket, and hands them to Minori. "Here. Freshly picked blueberries. They grow on a bush near my cottage. Minori grabs the berries from her hand. She probably should've questioned them, but she was so hungry that she felt like she could eat anything. She scarfs the berries down. They're so sweet and chewy, she feels like she witnessed a miracle. "What's your name?" the girl asks. "Minori. Minori Hanasato. Im a 2nd year in high school." They get to know each other better, and find out they're actually the same age! They have a lot in common, actually. The girl's name is Haruka Kiritani. Haruka and Minori walk through the woods, and near the exit. Minori finds herself slowly calming down, and smiles softly.
Suddenly, she falls to the ground. "Minori? Minori?!"
***
Minori lets out a sigh as she sits up in her bed. Wait, not her bed. She's in a bed?! Where is she?! Minori panics, and hurriedly runs down the stairs. She was in an unknown building. She looks out the window. She's in a forest. Everything rushes back to her. She met Haruka, Haruka had given her berries, and she collapsed. Right! This must be Haruka's cottage she mentioned. Letting out a sigh of relief, she runs to the fridge. She's still extremely hungry. As she pulls the fridge open, she jumps back in terror. "Bags..? Of.. blood?!"
Just as she turns around, Haruka is standing at the door. She was carrying fresh ingredients in her hand, which were probably for making a pasta of some sort. She drops the bags. "I-I can explain-" Minori let a panicked scream. "Shh!" Haruka covers Minori's mouth with her palms.
Haruka quickly explains that there is nothing to be afraid of. Minori peels her hands away from her face, and gives haruka a chance to explain. She explains that she's actually a vampire, and that she needs blood to survive. "But don't worry! There are merely crow blood samples. I need them to stay alive. If I don't drink them, I turn pale and fade away," she explains. "Oh but don't worry! I have no intention of hurting you. We're friends, right?"
"Right.." Minori says cautiously. Her head was spinning so hard, and her life had been so crazy recently, vampires weren't impossible to her. She kind of was a bit delusional after everything that's happened. The only issue with her, she thought, was that she couldn't seem to keep her eyes off Haruka. She was supposed to be a scary bloodsucking monster, but instead, all Minori could see was a beautiful savior sent from the heavens above. Maybe her head was still fuzzy, but maybe she had fallen for her. She didn't know. "Hey. I'm still.. really weak. Do you think it's possible I could stay here again? This forest is huge, and I have no clue how much I can walk." Minori had no clue what she was saying. She didn't realize it, but she was making up excuses to get a better glimpse at her wonderful savior.
Night approaches, and Haruka tucks Minori into bed. "Goodnight Minori. I'll see you in the morning." "Wait," Minori exclaims. "Stay with me. Please. Just till I fall asleep, okay?" Minori falls asleep, and haruka stands up to leave. But, it was such a missed opportunity. She had a human girl laying right in her guest bedroom, all weak and fragile. Maybe, just maybe, a few drops wouldn't hurt. Haruka had never tasted human blood, and knows that it can fill a vampire for up to a month. That's a month less of hunting crows. Haruka failed to fight her impulses, and leaned towards Minori. She opened her mouth, and gently sunk her fangs into her neck.
"Ah!" Minori wakes up promptly. Haruka didn't expect her to wake up so fast. "I'm so sorry! I just-"
"Were you trying to drink my blood?!"
"No- yes- I just-" Minori hurriedly runs down the stairs.
"Wait! Minori!" Minori opens the door.
"Minori!" Haruka grabs Minori' hand to stop her from leaving. "Don't go yet!"
"I have to," Minori replies.
"I'll never see you again!"
"Look, Haruka. I'm not mad. But if I stay any longer, I'll fall into your trap. Because.." Minori turns around and kisses Haruka. Haruka flinches, but doesn't pull back. She leans into the kiss. Minori pulls away."I have to go. My family, my friends. They must be so worried."
"Wait!" Haruka runs to grab a note and pen. She writes down her number. "Please take this. I want to see you again. I know I bit you, but you just looked really tempting. I won't again I swear! I'll just hunt down a bunch of crows!"
"Jeez. You're really something, Haruka." Minori takes the note.
"I bet you don't know your way home, do you? Shall I walk you?"
"Eep!" She'd forgot about that. The girls end up walking home together, and find themselves chatting just like they did before the incident. Minori had completely fell for her, despite her being a literal vampire. She laughs to herself, "geez, I'm so crazy. I get lost in the forest, stay at a girl's cottage, find out the girl is a vampire, and fall in love with her. I must really be tired or something." Haruka laughs too. "Well, if you're crazy, I guess that makes two of us." Haruka gives her a small kiss. "Bye, Minori." Just like that, Minori found herself at the entrance once again. Haruka had vanished as quickly as she came. "Maybe I'll see you again someday," Minori whispers to herself.
