Summary
Teddy has always been a collector of the strange, and one ongoing collection oddities were his friends. Everyone knows to expect something to happen when Teddy brings home a new pal, but no one even considered what Finn would do.(AKA what happens when Teddy's obnoxious little friend won't stop hitting on Harry? He faces the wrath of Draco Malfoy.)(This is part of my Modern Family AU. Can be read as a stand alone fic, but do consider checking out my other work.)

Interview - Harry and Draco

“Teddy is a fun guy.” Harry begins, “People are drawn to him.”

“Strange people.” Draco adds.

Harry chuckles lightly, “Yeah, sometimes they’re a bit strange.”

“One time he brought over a girl who carried two rats in her pockets.” Draco said, “They were both named cheese.” He adds.

“I actually found her quite charming.” Harry snarks.

“She was utterly deranged,” Draco says flatly, “but she was an utter delight compared to his new friend.” Draco rolled his eyes at even just the thought of Teddy’s most recent ‘friend’.

“Finn.” Harry added.

“Finn.” Draco repeated through gritted teeth.

The first time Teddy’s friend Finn came over, he seemed fine – normal even, which was a surprise considering Teddy’s track record with bringing home people Draco referred to as “crazy.”

Finn came in, shook hands with everyone and went on to stick with Teddy for his entire visit.

Then Harry came home from work.

Harry walked through the door, dropping his keys on the entry table with huff.

“Papa!” Albus hollered while running up to give his father a hug.

Harry wrapped his arms around Albus, “Hey buddy.” He said while ruffling Albus’ hair.

Harry continued into the living room with one arm wrapped around Albus’ shoulders.

Jamie, who was playing a video game completely ignored his fathers entrance and Scorpius was too enthralled in his new book to recognize his surroundings.

“Hey Harry!” Teddy said from his spot, sprawled out on the couch beside Finn.

“Hiya Teds.” Harry said back while shrugging off his coat. “Who’s your friend?”

“This is Finn.” Teddy said, pointing at the other boy.

“It’s nice to meet you Mr. Potter, and may I say – you are much better looking in person.” Finn said with a wink.

Jamie looked away from his game to look between his father and Finn and let out an undignified cackle.

Scorpius’ jaw dropped as he stared at his father waiting for any kind of reaction from the man.

Albus looked to Draco in the kitchen, who had stopped making tea for their guest and was instead staring at said guest with wide eyed glare.

Interview - Draco

“Who the hell says that?” Draco asks, sounding exasperated.

***

“Um… thank you?” Harry responded to the brazen comment.

Teddy threw his head back in laughter before smacking Finn on the arm, “Finn, shut up.” He hollered between giggles.

Finn chuckled along, “I’m sorry Mr. Potter – Harry – can I call you Harry?” Finn asked, receiving a nod from Harry. “It really is nice to meet you, Harry.” Finn said, shamelessly looking Harry up and down.

Draco placed a mug down on the kitchen island before him in a harsh manner, making everyone glance towards where he was in the kitchen.

Harry smiled nervously, “Hey babe!” He said while walking into the kitchen, desperate to escape from the interaction awaiting in the living room.

Draco smiled, “Hello love.” he said while leaning in to kiss Harry quickly, earning an “ew” from Jamie in the living room.

After pulling away Draco glanced at Finn to see him staring at the two of them.

Draco reached up to attempt to smooth down Harry’s hair, the action as much to comfort himself as it was to make Harry look presentable, “Darling, go sit down, I’ll bring you tea.” He leaned in to kiss Harry on the cheek, “Oh, and the boys want pizza for dinner. Can you order it?”

“Yeah I got it.” Harry said, pulling out his phone while leaning on the kitchen island – obviously not wanting to return to the living room.

Draco returned to his task of making tea, taking a moment to look up and smirk at Finn.

Teddy looked between Finn and Draco and rolled his eyes with a huff.

“Harry! Can we get that alfredo thing we got last time, that shit was delicious!” Teddy shouted, earning sounds of approval from the other boys in the room.

“You got it Teds.” Harry responds, not looking up from his phone.

Draco clears his throat and sends a pointed look at Harry then nods toward Teddy.

“Oh – and – uh, watch your language.” Harry adds.

“Teddy, does your – uhm – does your friend want anything?” Harry asks, attempting to be polite.

“Order whatever you want Harry – I’m sure you have excellent taste.” Finn responds with a smirk.

Scorpius fully grimaces and Teddy smirks while kicking Finn in the leg.

Interview - Jamie

“Finn is absolute bonkers.” Jamie grins, “I mean I’ve never seen Papa so freaked out.”

When the pizzas arrived everyone crowded around the kitchen table to load up their plates.

Jamie, after piling his plate full, retreated back to the living room with Scorpius trailing after him.

Harry and Draco both sat in their usual seats and Albus sat in his spot beside Harry.

Teddy and Finn, disappointingly, also joined them at the table where Finn sat directly across from Harry.

Finn watched as Harry fixed Albus’ plate for him, before situating himself.

“Albus, how old are you?” Finn asked suddenly.

“He’s thirteen – same age as Scorp.” Teddy answered while taking a huge bite of pizza.

“Thirteen?” Finn repeated, as though he heard wrong. “I assumed you were younger.”

He took a bite of his own pizza, “You know the whole dad fixing your plate thing? And the running up to ‘papa’ for a hug after work thing.” He said

Draco cocked an eyebrow as he stared at Finn.

Finn chuckled, “No offense man – I guess you just seem a little less mature then Scorp.”

Albus furrowed his brow and looked down into his plate.

Teddy, noticing this, swallowed his food and turned to his friend, “Hey lay off him mate,” Teddy said, trying to keep his tone light, “Albus is just a kid.”

Interview - Teddy

“I like – liked – Finn, but that was a real dick thing to say.” Teddy says flatly. “Especially to Al.”

***

“Aww – c'mon – I’m just teasing.” Finn continued. “Really, Al, it’s – uh – it’s cute that you love your parents so much.”

“Finn.” Draco says flatly. “Why don’t you eat your food dear.” He spoke calmly, in a way that seemed rehearsed.

Finn chuckled, “Sure thing Mr. Malfoy.”

“Potter.” Draco corrected, sipping his wine.

Dinner continued in relative peace, Finn – for the most part – kept his mouth shut.

At least until Albus brought up dogs.

“I’m just saying daddy, how awesome would it be if we got a dog…” Albus spoke with pizza sauce covering his face.

“Ew, Al wipe your face!” Teddy yelled, acting disgusted but his cheery smile betrayed him.

Harry reached over with a napkin to wipe off Albus’ face. “You’re a mess bud.”

“If we had a dog, it could lick my face clean.” Albus said, earning a chuckle from Harry.

Harry laughed, “That’s disgusting, I’m sure you’ll let it sleep in your bed too?”

“Sweetheart, I’ll promise you this.” Draco said smoothly. “We are not getting a dog.”

Albus rolled his eyes with a huff, and the table erupted into light laughter.

Then Finn – of course – had to open his stupid mouth.

“I wouldn’t mind having my face licked clean.” Finn says with an overdramatic wink in Harry’s direction.

Harry’s face flushed slightly and Teddy groaned in disgust.

“What does that mean?” Albus asked, his brows furrowed in a look of genuine confusion.

“It means-” Teddy began before Harry jumped in, “It means nothing sweetheart. Eat your dinner.”

After dinner was finished Finn jumped to help clean up, collecting dishes from everyone at the table.

As he walked behind Harry’s chair to collect his plate though, Finn allowed one hand to glide along Harry’s back.

This made Harry jump.

“Finn, don’t do that.” Harry said to Finn warningly before returning back to his conversation with Albus.

Finn just laughed, but when he looked up he was yet again on the receiving end of one of Draco’s glares.

Later on the entire family – and Finn – were all spread throughout the living room.

Jamie had the television remote in his hands scrolling to see what was streaming.

“We have to watch a movie.” Jamie said to the crowd of boys around him.

Harry chuckled, “You guys watch whatever you want, I’m going to bed.”

Finn pouted – like actually pouted.

“Oh c’mon Harry.” He whined, “Just one movie?”

Harry looked weirded out, but sat down when his own children joined in Finn’s begging for him to stay.

“We should watch a horror movie.” Scorpius said from his spot perched on an armchair.

“No.” Albus huffed, “I hate scary movies, they always give me nightmares.”

“You don’t have to watch anything you don’t want to, sweetheart.” Draco said softly with a smile.

Finn chuckled, “Eh, cmon Al, they’re not that bad. I’ll hold you through all the scary parts.”

Albus just looked plain uncomfortable and responded with a polite “No thank you.”

“Aww, it’s fine kid I don’t bite.” Finn said, “Unless you want me too.” He added, turning to Harry with a wink.

Harry scooted closer to Draco in response.

“You know Al, if I was your stepdad – or should I say when? Huh Harry? When? – I’d make sure you weren’t afraid of some silly movie.” Finn said, causing Teddy to once again let out an exhausted sigh.

Albus’ eyes went wide.

“When?” Albus asked, “You’re not going to be my stepdad. I don’t want you to be.”

“Yeah and for the record Finn, he can be afraid of anything he finds scary.” Draco said, while Albus came to squeeze on the couch beside him for a hug.

“Finn, you really need to learn when to shut your fat fuckin’ mouth.” Teddy groaned.

“Yeah Finn watch your fat fuckin’ mouth.” Jamie obviously just excited to have an excuse to swear.

“Woah sorry.” Finn said with his hands up, “Obviously struck a nerve there.”

“Dude just leave before you dig yourself a deeper grave.” Teddy said, his eyes closed as though the conversation had exhausted him.

“I think Edward’s right, Finn.” Draco said one arm still wrapped protectively around Albus. “You wouldn’t want to overstay your welcome.”

Finn smiled awkwardly before following Teddy to the door.
