The Life Beyond the Sea
Summary
Death. Meant to be a scary thing for most. But for these two teenagers who lost their lives way too soon reunite in death, They are determened to live the life they never had, even if being dead is the only way to do it. When Ash swore to meet Poppy beyond the sea, She meant it. And she did. Now what happens next is up to them.

The Arrival.

"We found each other in life.
And we found each other in death.
So I will find you now, whatever’s beyond the sea."

Those were the final words that Ash had thought to herself before stepping onto the ferry with Charon, the wind blowing in her hair as moonlight lights up the boat that she is in. To say she was nervous was a understatement, after all who wouldnt be? Getting onto a boat to take you to the afterlife would make anyone at least a little nervous after all. Sure Ash had seen it multiple times throughout the her time as a reaper, but thats all behind her now. Her time as a reaper is over, and her time to move on has come.

"Charon"? Ash said, her voice laced with curiousity and a little bit of anxiousness.

Charon turns her head around, looking at Ash from the conner of her eye. "Yes, Miss Persaud"? Charon said, her tone netural and unchanging.

"Im wondering, is the afterlife difrent for everyone, or is there a general place for the souls you take"? Ash said, her tone laced with genuine curiousity.

"A interesting question, but to answer it. Yes, but also no". Charon said.

"If i may ask, how so"? Ash said.

"To put it simply, Those who were good people in life? THEY get the afterlife they want..and those who werent? Well. I think you know what happens to them". Charon said to Ash, turning her head back to the sea in front of her as she stated the last part of that sentence. "Luckily for you, Ashana Persaud, you were a good person in life. So the afterlife we arive at is entirely up to you".

"Fair enough". Ash said, looking off the side of the boat, taking in the sight of the waves of the sea.

"Am i allowed to take a nap Charon, just until we arrive"? Ash said as she yawned, clearly a little tired.

"Yes, you may, we do have a long ride ahead after all, and it would be much easier to enjoy your afterlife when your full of energy afterall". Charon said. "I shall wake you whenever we arrive".

*20 hours later*

Ash is laid back on the boat, head resting on the back of the boat fast asleep, or well- as asleep as she can be for a dead person. "For a dead person, she sure can snore". Charon thought to herself, chuckling a little bit. She then docked the boat at what seemed to be a dock of some sort, the pillars as shiny as can be with the boards in pirstine condition. She then turned around to face Ash, placing her hand onto the girl's shoulder and lightly shaking her awake. "Miss Persaud. We have arrived". Charon then stood back up.

Ash stood up slowly, still trying to fully wake up after being asleep for a good 20 hours. She placed her hand on the dock before slowly climbing out of the boat

As she stood up on the dock, she looked out into the distance and saw what appears to be a city with a tree in the middle. She smiled as she saw where she would spend eternity. She hoped she would see Poppy in this afterlife if it is at all possible.

Ash walked down the dock, taking a deep breathe as she did so, nervous for what lies ahead for her in this afterlife. "You know..i can be content with this..its pretty peaceful if im being honest". Ash said, taking in the air around her, or as much as she can given that she's dead.

As she takes a walk down the dock, she sees what looks like a person walking down the crosswalk before they take a left, walking into a building. Ash's legs unconciously picked up pace, walking a little bit faster before coming to a stop at the crosswalk. Ash then looks up at the building, the building having a coffee cup on it, along with the walls made of brick and painted a shiny white with the windows as clean as can be. Inside the building is a person sitting at a table, their face burried in a book, their orange har flowing down their back and on their shoulders.

"Is that..No..No it cant be..". Ash says as she looks through the window of the building, presumed to be a Cafè. She then walks slowly up to the door, her hands shaking as her hand grips the handle of the door.

Ash showly opens the door to the Cafè, pushing the door open slowly, a small jingle playing from the top of the door as she entered. "..Poppy? Is that you"? Ash said, her breathe shakey, tears threatning to fall as she spoke.
