16 A Fresh Perspective
Last week she had been crying. Today she was the happiest she had ever been in her life. Who knew that acting like a trollop would capture the man's attention when she was about to give up on thinking he would ever notice the likes of her.
She was smart, bookish and very proper. He was brash, rude, brushing people aside like flies to prove he was good at being an Aurer.
She had been at one of her first meetings at the Ministry of Magic where she was employed in the Law Department when he swept into the room, capturing both her attention and heart.
Minerva had fancied Alastor Moody since she first had set eyes on him. He, like she was Scottish. They had a similar sense of humour, dry, but seldom understood.
She had been polite at first, trying to catch his eye, but that man had his eyes on the job so much that he hardly paid much attention to anyone let alone a Lovelorn witch, unless you had broken the law of course. Who would have guessed that this Aura would ever seek out her help.
But he had and as she gave him the information he required to get Umbridge arrested she could not fail to notice how distracted he had become.
She was lucky to have stolen some documents that Umbridge had been handing over but being a bright witch she had managed to duplicate them as she cleared away their tableware without the Muggle woman noticing.
It was only later she realised why he had made the little discreet adjustment of his clothing. She had turned bright red as light dawned that he had been covering his erection from her view. She was glad she had been in the safety of her home as she had started to laugh. He really did like her after all!
