Chapter 2

Agatha smoked some more as she built up the courage to talk to Rio. She cringed a little as she did some digging and saw that she was a good fifteen years or so younger. She herself was pushing 50. And while she knew she looked good by all the heads that turned when she entered a room, sometimes, when she was alone gazing into her mirror, she didn’t recognize herself anymore.

Her face had narrowed slightly, it seemed only she noticed that and the lines that had appeared on her face were harder to remove with botox and filler as the years wore on. She felt blessed that her ex rival in school had gone into the beauty industry, and while Jenny and her had their squabbles, she was more than willing to help Agatha stay beautiful – if only to remind her of how flawless her own black skin “naturally” was.

Agatha moved to her office and let the smoke fill the space. She had forgotten a few times what she had even been doing, when a message popped up for her on Messenger.

Usually when I send a photo like that I get a response. Not your type, I take it?

Rio’s photo sat ideally by the message. Agatha tilted her head. The woman was forward and she had to give it to her, she had the face and body to be this cocky. She cracked her knuckles before she let her fingers glide over the keyboard composing her response.

Agatha Harkness: I think my dear, you’ll find that my type has nothing to do with this journey.

Blue eyes watched as the three dots appeared, as if she had manifested them herself. Slowly drawing the younger woman to her as if by magic in her words.

Rio Vidal: 🙁why not?

Agatha smirked. Had this woman really just sent her a frowny face? She tried to sit up a little straighter, which was hard with her one leg stretched out and other foot firmly planted on her office recliner to try and give her leverage.

Agatha Harkness: Alas, this is purely business, but the pleasure will be all mine. I assure you of that. I know it’s the Buy Nothing Group, but I can certainly pay you for your troubles… and you do look quite amazing in a swimsuit I must say.

She let the last part slip out as her mind started to veere towards the gutter. This always happened when she smoked.

Rio Vidal: Baby, I don’t want your money. Just an excuse to spend time in your presence is enough. Have you seen you? Also, if the group ever found out you paid for a service, we would both be banned – how could we ever live without getting another round of Kathy’s chocolate chip cookies – the same cookies that she’s been perfecting for the last two years? No, we shouldn’t risk it, my love.

Agatha couldn’t help the laughter that burst from her chest. She hadn’t laughed like this in a long time… when had the last time even been?

Her fingers hovered over the keys.

I would never forsake Kathy’s cookies. You’re a saint for keeping us out of trouble. I am sure there’s another way I could repay such a kindness, you’ll have to let me think of something...

She navigated to Rio’s photo once more, and as the weed kept her control on her mind loose, she let her hand slide down her stomach and played with her panty line. She felt her heart rate speed up as she thought about the woman behind the screen appearing in the room and doing this to her. A ping was heard but her eyes drifted closed as her hand made it past her clothes and into her warm folds. She threw her head back as a breath caught in her throat, she released it a moment later with a deep groan, her hips shifting forward to follow the sensation.

Her eyes opened briefly, flicking to the screen, noticing a moving bar. Oh fuck was she recording a voice memo? She tried to frantically delete it, but in her inebriated state all she accomplished… was hitting send.

Rio’s dots disappeared. Agatha shoved her computer away from her in a panic, hearing a thud a moment later as it hit the floor. She cringed. She so didn’t want to buy a new computer, the experience always left her slightly rattled as she fought to get used to all the new settings and it irked her to no end to have to attempt to set up everything just as she had before. Which if she were honest with herself would take her months to adapt to.

She slowly leaned over her feet, barely catching herself before she could topple from the chair. Her shoulders relaxed when she saw that the computer looked unharmed. Her body relaxed slightly before she noticed that the voice message to Rio was still sitting promptly in the box, the word seen, mocking her existence.

Agatha sighed. Well, that was fun while it lasted. This was why she was alone since Shannon. And honestly after what she did to her, why would she want to step into something potentially messy again? Being alone worked well for her. She could fuck whoever she wanted… Well, apparently, not hot women she came across on the buy nothing group because she was an idiot – but anyone else in a more reasonable place for that sort of thing. Maybe she needed to get a rideshare to the closest bar and have a fun night while her high lasted.

A ping had her tilting her head in question at her laptop.

Rio Vidal: You sure this fake dating scenario wasn’t a ploy just to get my attention? Because Damn, Agatha, you sound amazing. You know, we are in the same buy nothing group…

Agatha’s muddled mind flushed with embarrassment that RIo had confirmed she had heard her poorly timed sex tape. Then her eyebrows furrowed as she typed another message.

Agatha Harkness: The job still stands. What did you mean by the last part?

Agatha gulped as the message came through her eyes devouring it.

Rio Vidal: We live in the same neighborhood, sweetheart. If you wanted my attention tonight in person, all you had to do was ask.
