Verdict
Catra’s asleep in Adora’s bed when her phone rings out loudly, the magicat startles out of her slumber as she reaches out blindly for the annoying device, her bleary eyes trying to make out the caller ID as she picks it up, “Hello?”
“You think you can do this! Do you know who I am?!” the angry voice shouts over the line, “You have no idea who you are dealing with! I have connections in high places and when I am finished with you, you will wish you were never born!”
The line hangs up just as abruptly as Catra sits up, her brain still tired and trying to piece together who or what that threat was all about when Adora shuffles next to, turning over and flickering open her eyes, “Who was that?”
“I think it was… Prime?” Catra replies unsurely, her eyes focus on the time and she groans, “Why the fuck is that fuckwit calling and threatening me at 2 in the morning?”
“Just put your phone on silent, Cat.” Adora yawns at as she pats the magicat on the arm before dropping it and closing her eyes again, “I wouldn’t worry about him. He can’t do anything to you.”
“Maybe…” Catra switches her phone onto silent and flops back down on the bed, turning to look at Adora in the relative darkness of the blonde’s room, “He may not be able to do anything to me… but he can fuck up my patients. Mrs Wilson is a prime example.”
“And Mrs Boots.” Adora adds tiredly, “Don’t worry. Glimmer and Bow are keeping an eye on him when they are on shift.”
“They can’t watch him 24/7.” Catra says defeatedly.
“What about Entrapta?”
“What about her?”
“Her and Emily are going to catch him in the act sooner or later.” Adora states tiredly, “I’ve already talked to Glim and Bow. They’ve got eyes on him pretty much all shift.”
“How so?”
“Basically, Glim’s assigned trainee doctors to tail him at all times.” Adora says with another yawn, “It seems the only way to make it appear less obvious is to cater to his egomaniac personality, and if it means giving him trainees, well, so be it. Glim makes sure the trainees only spend one shift with him before they go shadow better doctors. They can’t learn all that much from that jerk anyways.”
Catra finds herself chuckling at Adora’s use of the word, jerk, “Why do you say that?”
“Have you ever been in a room with him?” Adora asks as she turns over, reaching behind her for Catra’s arm to get the magicat to spoon her, and when eventually Catra does, she sighs, “He doesn’t teach anything. At all. He just likes to talk about himself and all the ‘successes’ he’s had on top of name dropping every person he deems notable.”
“When did you spend time in a room with him?” Catra asks surprised.
“My first rotation here.” Adora replies pushing herself back into Catra’s front, “I’m glad that there were other people in that group with me when we had to ‘learn’ from him otherwise I might have quit.”
“I wanted to stab him in the eye on our last shift.” Catra admits as she breathes out into Adora’s hair, “If it wasn’t for Sparkles, I’m pretty sure I would have stabbed him in all four eyes.”
“Please don’t do that.” Adora pulls on Catra’s arms, hugging it, “If you go to prison, who’s going to spoon me?”
“You make it sound like we’re a couple and dating.” Catra chuckles, “We haven’t even gone on a date.”
Adora shrugs, “Doesn’t matter. I like you in my bed.”
“Should I just not sign the next lease agreement contract on my place?” Catra jests, “Since you’re planning on keeping me as your bed buddy for the foreseeable future.”
Adora hums out happily, “Move in with me. Be my bed buddy for life.”
“Did you… did you just propose to me?” Catra props herself up on her elbow, “Because I’m pretty sure everything that we are doing is in reverse…”
Adora giggles, “I’m not asking you to marry me. Just be my bed buddy.”
“Ugh, you could at least throw in sex as well.” Catra grumbles and Adora snickers out a laugh.
“Hey! I offer you cake, like all the time!” Adora whines out, “And besides, I’m not having sex with you.”
“At all?” Catra asks, feeling very inappropriate right now being so close to Adora and thinking she’s read the whole situation wrong before she feels Adora hug her arm again, “Uh…”
“I’m not having sex with you until we are actually together.” Adora clarifies as she pushes her butt back playfully, “So, you better date me.”
“No pressure, huh?” Catra huffs out.
“Is that all you want? Sex?” Adora looks over her shoulder at the magicat, “Is that all you think about when you’re with me?”
“I don’t think about you naked all the time…” Catra rolls her eyes, “I mean, I do spend a good chunk of time thinking about you naked… and doing things to you… and… now I’m getting myself worked up…”
Adora laughs, “That’s on you.”
“Great.” Catra groans out cynically, “Now I’m horny, spooning a fucking gorgeous princess and going to get none.”
“Deal with it, Cat.” Adora laughs again, “I’m sure you’ll survive.”
“You’re going to kill me.” Catra replies dramatically.
“Just go back to sleep, Cat.” Adora pats the magicat’s arm, “Try not to think about sex.”
“Easy for you to say.” Catra groans out a second time, “Maybe I should just… go to the bathroom and…”
“No.” Adora huffs out playfully and then laughs, turning over, “What if I kissed you? Would that help?”
Catra has to think about it for zero seconds before she agrees to it, “Fine. Kiss me.”
Adora grins, “Close your eyes.”
“Fine.” Catra groans again and closes her eyes as Adora leans in and presses a kiss on the magicat’s forehead, eliciting a surprised noise from the magicat expected a proper kiss, on the mouth, instead she opens her eyes confused as Adora smirks at her, “What the fuck was that?”
“A kiss.” Adora declares and then turns over, “Go back to sleep, Cat.”
“Gah!” Catra huffs out, “You’re lucky you’re fucking cute.”
“You’re cute.” Adora says having the last word, “No more talking. Sleep time.”
“Guys! We need you in room 144 now!” Glimmer grabs Adora by the elbow as the blonde tugs Catra along by the hand, “There’s a fucking huge situation!”
“What’s going on, Sparkles?” Catra asks as she yanked along the corridor by Adora to room 144, “I didn’t hear a code on the way in…”
“Prime has gone crazy! He’s holding a patient hostage!” Glimmer whisper shouts, trying not to alert the other patients still being evacuated from the other rooms on the floor.
“What?!” Catra picks up her speed and sprints towards the room, stopping just outside the room, other staff members gathered around trying to see what was going on, “Move out of the way! Get back to work people!” Catra shouts as the others all look at her, “What the fuck are you all looking at? Get the fuck away!”
Glimmer reaches the room, panting a little as she practically shouts the same thing, “Move! We don’t need more people standing around here!”
The rest of the onlookers moved off begrudgingly at not being allowed to watch the whole thing unfold, a few muttering under their breathes as they move along. Adora looks into the room and sees Prime inside, a syringe filled with green serum held up and the patient’s throat as Bow tries to talk him down.
Catra pushes the door open and steps inside and addresses the patient, completely ignoring Prime as she does, “Has doctor dipshit injected you with anything yet, princess?”
“No, not yet.” The woman grimaces when she feels the needle slightly jab into her skin, as Catra catches Prime’s confused look, she holds up her arm in a cast and hisses out in pain before saying, “Dipshit said that green poison is supposed to heal my pain, I call bullshit.”
“A princess, huh?” Prime grins thinking he’s got a high profile victim in his grasp, and then leans in closer to her ear as he says, “And here I thought she was plain, old… Peach.”
“Stars, I hate my name.” Peach grumbles before hissing out when she feels the prick of the needle again, “What the fuck, dude?”
“Yeah, what the fuck?” Catra mimics as Bow waves his arms in the air trying to make the pair stop antagonizing Prime, the magicat ignores him as well, “Hey, princess…” she grins to the woman being held hostage by Prime, “Remember that Super Marios game when Mario tries to dodge the evil skeleton turtles…?”
Peach raises an eyebrow up at the magicat.
“Well, how about we get that lucky star, huh?” Catra grins with all teeth.
“Oof!” Prime stumbles backwards as Peach swings her arm that’s in the cast hard at him, connecting with Prime’s face hard, the syringe falls to the floor, Bow quickly grabs it away from Prime’s grasp as he growls out, “But… how?”
“Ow! Ow! Ow!” Peach grabs her arms and hisses out with pain as Adora and Glimmer quickly go to her, unplugging her machines and pushing her out of the room so that Prime, Bow and Catra are the only ones left inside, the woman yelling back to Catra whilst in pain, “That reference made zero sense!”
Prime stands back up and growls at the pair, Bow takes a step back whilst Catra crosses her arms over her chest, he glares at the magicat, “You will pay for that.” And then he turns to Bow, “Give that back. Now.”
“Uh, no way.” Bow takes another step back narrowing his eyes at the contents in the syringe, “What is in this anyway?”
“It’s a miracle serum, proven to cure any ailment.” Prime replies pompously, “Now give that back so I can save more people.”
Catra huffs out a laugh, “Save? Deluded much?”
“Catra…” Bow stage whispers to the magicat, “Can you please not piss him off more?”
“No.” Catra returns quickly much to his chagrin, she grins at him and rolls her eyes before looking back at the crazed look in Prime’s eyes and then back at Bow, “Dude. Prime-adonna has been skimming off the top.” She turns back to Prime, whispering to him in a mocking manner, “You’re not supposed to use the stuff you’re trying to kill people with…”
He growls out again, swinging his arms out as Bow yelps out, backing up against the wall, “Catra…”
The magicat tackles Prime to the ground before she’s promptly kicked in the gut, groaning out in pain as she falls to her knees, “Stars…”
Prime gets up and starts raining down fists on the magicat, “This serum makes me feel powerful.” A punch to Catra’s face as she tries to shield herself, “Strong.” Another punch, “A god!”
Catra tenses up, slamming her eyes shut as she waits for the fatal blow only to hear a loud metal crash and then the sound of Prime’s body hitting the floor. The magicat looks up and sees Bow standing there, steel bedpan in his hand, and looking somewhat aghast at what he’s just done as he drops the bedpan with a loud clang.
“Oh… I didn’t mean to hit him that hard…” Bow starts to ramble, “But he was really beating you up and I felt so helpless and I didn’t know what to do and I was still holding the needle which is over there on the table. But then I saw the bedpan and… Oh…”
Catra groans out as she turns her head to see Prime knocked out cold and then chuckles whilst grimacing, “Nice work, Arrows.”
“I’m so sorry!” Bow starts to freak out as Glimmer and Adora rush in the room with security behind them.
“We’re here to…” Adora looks around and sees Bow looking stressed, Catra bloodied and bruised and Prime knocked out cold as she finishes her sentence, “…save you?”
“No need.” Catra puts her hand up, not expecting to be pulled up and into a hug by the blonde, “Arrows saved the day… Maybe I need to start calling him Robin Hood.”
“Bow! Stars! Are you okay!?” Glimmer rushes inside, grabbing Bow and kissing him all over his face before someone clears their throat from behind her and she glares down at Prime, “Get him out of here.”
Security secure Prime and drag him out of the room as Entrapta pops in, “Oh, hello!”
“Traps. Great timing as always.” Catra jest despite the pain and the purple haired surgeon tilts her head at the friend, looking the magciat up and down, “I’m fine. Just a few bruises. Pretty sure nothing is broken.” Catra reassures and Entrapta nods.
“Where is it?” Entrapta simply asks.
“On the table.” Bow answers, pointing at the syringe filled with green serum, “Might need that as evidence.”
“Of course!” Entrpata beams back, quickly sheathing the needle point with a rather large cork and then pocketing it, “I’ve got enough to get Prime arrested and deregistered for all future practices.”
“Great.” Catra replies as she lets Adora hold her up and then turns to Glimmer, “Hey Sparkles, I think I’m going to need the rest of my shift off…”
Glimmer rolls her eyes, “I think we all do.” She then sighs, “Except if none of us work, there’s going to be more issues.”
Entrapta sticks her hands up, jumping up and down like she’s waiting to be picked, “That’s very true! And I had anticipated that this would happen today!”
“Say what?” Catra turns to look at Entrapta, “You knew this was going to happen?”
“Yes! Data never lies!” She says smugly.
“And you didn’t share it with the rest of us… because?” Glimmer tries not to yell.
“You can’t be trusted with that information!” Entrapta grins, “It needed to unfold this way today or we wouldn’t have got Dr Prime.”
“Pretty sure after today, he’s just Prime Dickhead.” Catra grunts out as Adora checks over her face, and then she hisses a little when the blonde’s finger accidentally touches an open wound, “Geez, easy there, princess.”
“Why did you call Peach, princess?” Adora inquires trying not to seem too curious or invested in the answer.
“Because her name is Peach.” Catra replies like it’s obvious, “Like… Princess Peach?”
“She doesn’t even look like the character.” Adora points out.
Catra stifles a laugh as she winces again, “Looks aren’t everything, Adora.”
“Uh huh.” Adora pouts slightly.
The magicat wraps her arms around the blonde, “There’s only one real princess here… and it’s you in my eyes.”
“The one and only.” Adora corrects and Catra grins back before it turns into a grimace, “Okay, I think you need a doctor…”
Catra laughs as Adora pulls the magicat out of the room and into the staff room to fix her up.
A few days later…
“Did you guys hear?” Bow rushes up to the pair, “Quick, change the channel to the news!”
“Hey!” Peach complains as he grabs the remote and mouths a ‘sorry’ to her before switching the channel, “Seriously you couldn’t do this in another room? The one next door is EMPTY!”
“Quit your belly aching, Peachy.” Catra drawls as she finishes drawing on the new cast on her arm, “You’re lucky the cast you whacked Prime with was sturdy.”
“It was your idea!” Peach argues as Catra laughs, her eyes meet Adora’s when the blonde and Glimmer enter the room as well, “Okay, no. Way too many people. Visiting hours are over!” Peach complains light heartedly.
“Literally 5 minutes!” Bow smiles charmingly as she rolls her eyes at him, “You want to see this too, promise!”
“Fine.” Peach huffs with a smile as Bow turns the volume up.
Breaking news, former doctor at Brightmoon, Prime has been arrested and charged with multiple offences including murder, attempted murder, manslaughter and assault. He was denied bail and will be trialled in 2 weeks time.
We approached him for comment when he left court this afternoon and was put back in custody of the police until his upcoming court date. He has vehemently denied any wrong doings and has stated that he is not guilty and that those that have wrongly accused him will face the full face of the law.
More to come…
“Stars… he thinks he’s innocent? How deluded is he?” Adora shakes her head in disgust, “Considering he did what he did with so many witnesses.”
“I think he thinks his ‘friends’ on the board will help him.” Catra scoffs out.
Glimmer hums, “I hope not.”
“Can he do that?” Bow asks scratching his head.
“I hope not.” Glimmer repeats with a sigh.
“What about me? I’m a witness. I’m going to put that asshole away for good.” Peach declares.
Catra sighs before straightening up, “Me too. But I don’t think they’re going to use me as a witness. If anything, they’re probably going to flip everything around and make me look like the bad guy.”
“Not if I have anything to do with it!” Everyone in the room jumps as Entrapta and Emily both burst into the room, “Hello!”
“Can’t you enter a room like a normal person?!” Glimmer snaps, trying not to have a heart attack before she takes a calming breath in and out, “Sorry.”
“It’s okay!” Entrapta grins not reading the room at all.
“How are you going to make sure he doesn’t get let off, Traps?” Catra asks as Adora comes over and inspects Catra’s artwork on Peach’s cast.
“I have dirt on all the board members.” Entrapta grins widely, “And, wow, some of those secrets are doozies…”
“Do we want to know?” Bow asks meekly.
“Probably not.” Entprata shrugs, “Anyways, I wouldn’t worry about him.”
“Easy for you to say.” Catra says not convinced at all, “You’re not the one he’s been out to get since day one…”
“I wouldn’t worry about him.” Entrapta repeats, “Because if he tries anything, well, he won’t. Not after Emily paid him a little visit in his cell earlier today.”
“But… that interview…” Adora says slowly.
“He’s bluffing.” Entrapta simply says, “And scared.”
“How…?” Bow starts to ask.
“I’ve monitored his mannerisms and in that interview, though he projects confidence, his body language, ever so subtly conveys otherwise.” Entrapta replies matter of factly, “But, that’s not the point. The point is that you have nothing to worry about.”
Emily nods.
“We’ve got enough data and evidence to bury any lies and twists he thinks will help him.” Entrapta declares, “So… just go on with your lives for now.”
And just like that, she disappears out of the door and back down the lifts, Emily in tow.
“Uh… that just happened…” Bow looks around the room and shakes his head.
“Hey.” Adora nudges Catra’s shoulder, “My shifts finished. You owe me dinner.”
Catra grins, wincing a little at the still sore spots on her face, “Sure. I’ve been waiting here for ages.”
“You didn’t have to come in.” Adora rolls her eyes at the magicat, “I told you I could just meet you there.”
“What? And not pick you up after work?” Catra replies with a smirk before she winces again, “Also I’m not physically lifting you up, princess.” The magicat looks at Peach, “Not you, Peachy. Adora’s my princess now.”
“I hate my name…” Peach grumbles as Catra chuckles, patting the woman on the shoulder and then heading towards the door, “When can I get discharged?”
“Ask Sparkles. I’m not on shift.” Catra throws back to Peach and then sticks her tongue out at Glimmer, “All yours, Dr Sparkles.”
“Can I kiss you now? Like, for real?” Catra asks as she watches Adora get ready for bed, she hasn’t been back to her place to sleep in over a fortnight now and honestly, she doesn’t think she can go back to sleeping alone.
Adora turns off the lights and gets into bed next to the magicat, shuffling over so she can see Catra, “What do you mean? A real kiss? I’ve already kissed you for real.”
Catra doesn’t know if Adora’s is playing with her or not, instead she leans in close enough and says, “Do I have to do it myself, princess?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking abo-mmphf!” Catra presses her lips onto Adora’s, the blonde kissing back instantly before they both drop down into their sleeping position, a grin on both of their faces, “That’s all you’re getting tonight.”
“I can live with that.” Catra replies as she pulls Adora closer into her front as she spoons her from behind before she remembers something, “Dry bones.”
“What?” Adora turns over confused.
“Dry bones.” Catra repeats.
“What are you on about?” Adora asks still very confused.
“That’s the evil skeleton guys in Mario.” Catra says seriously before she grins at Adora blank face and then laughs, “I just remembered! It was doing my head in ever since Prime got knocked out with a bedpan.”
“You’re such an idiot.” Adora rolls her eyes and kisses Catra mid laugh on the lips, “Mm… now go to sleep.”
Catra grins wider as she watches Adora roll back over, manoeuvring herself back into their sleeping positions once again and nuzzling the blonde’s back, “How many dates until I can move in?”
Breaking news! Prime has been convicted on all charges brought against him at the Bright Moon courts. His sentencing will be in two weeks and it is expected that he will be facing a non-parole period of at least 50 years.
Investigations are underway in regard to hospital staff and board members that may have also been involved in this case. So far 2 board members have resigned already, the question is, how many more knew.
More to come…
“Fuck yeah!” Catra cheers from the staff room, “Rot in jail, dickhead!”
The door swings open and Glimmer glares at the magicat swearing out loud enough to be heard by anyone walking past, “Dr Catra!” she chastises as Catra rolls her eyes back and puts her hands up in apology as the sparkly girl’s expression shifts suddenly, “We did it! He’s guilty! Also, I’ve got a surprise for you!”
“Oh yeah?” Catra asks with a raised eyebrow, “I’m not under investigation still, am I? Since Prime is guilty and all…”
“No. That’s not it.” Glimmer shakes her head, “You’re clear of all that crap.”
“Okay… then what?”
“You’ve been cleared of everything from the time you were suspended.” Glimmer finally says, “Apart from the wall you smashed in… you’re in the clear.”
“Do I get some kind of… renumeration?” Catra tests, “You know, since I got suspended for a week without pay…”
“No. That’s not going to happen.” Glimmer shakes her head again, “You did smash hospital property…”
“I put a hole in the wall!” Catra growls out, “Because no one was listening to me!”
“I know.” Glimmer sighs, “But… we can’t condone violence no matter how justified it was or seemed to be at the time…”
“Great…” Catra sighs out as well, “So, your surprise is that I’m in the clear?”
“Yes!” Glimmer beams back, “And you’ve been recommended by a few members of the senior staff to possibly step up.”
“I have? Why?” Catra asks confused, “I’m not cut out for that kind of responsibility…”
Glimmer scoffs at that, “Yes, you are. Also, even though your demeanour to everyone else is… well, frankly, terrible, your bedside manner, despite how unorthodox it is, seems to make you more personable… somehow.” The smaller woman cocks her hip out and adds, “Do you think I thought I was ready when I got the tap on the shoulder?”
“Well, yeah. You came to this field of work with a stick up your ass.” Catra replies with a chuckle, earning herself a slap on the shoulder from the Sparkly woman, “Ow. That’s assault. I might have to report you, and you might get suspended without pay for a week or two too.”
“Not funny Cat.” Glimmer narrows her eyes at the magicat.
The magicat shakes her head with another chuckle, “Don’t worry, Sparkles. I’m not going to report you. Not unless I plan on blackmailing you…” Glimmer looks at her slightly aghast and Catra can’t help but laugh again, “A little dense, huh?”
“Don’t push me, Cat.” Glimmer says with a pointed finger towards the magicat before a smile tugs on her lips, “I’m still higher up in the food chain than you.”
“You sure are.” A grin comes back on Catra’s face as she laughs out, “Have you seen Adora?”
“She’s just finishing up with a patient.” Glimmer replies as she crosses her arm over her chest and smirks at the magicat, “So, when’s the wedding?”
“Wedding? What wedding?” Catra plays dumb, “Who’s getting married? Are you and Arrows getting married? Wait, aren’t you two already married? Oh, did you get divorced just so you can get married again?”
“Shut it, Cat.” Glimmer points her finger threateningly at the magicat at the mention of her and Bow’s relationship, “Bow and I are fine. And don’t play dumb.”
“I don’t play dumb because I’m not.” Catra replies, “And I have not idea what you’re talking about in regard to a wedding.”
Glimmer huffs out exasperated, “You’re such an ass. I don’t know what Adora sees in you. Or Bow for that matter.”
Catra just grins back, teeth and all in reply, not offended at all.
“Come on!” Glimmer starts to whine now, “Spill! You’ve practically moved in with her and you’re like together like every day and night.”
“Why don’t you just ask your best friend?” Catra says smugly.
“She won’t tell me anything!” Glimmer groans out dramatically.
“And you think I will?” Catra says holding back a laugh before she sighs, “Look, just, I don’t want to jinx it.”
Glimmer looks at her a little bewildered, “What are you on about?”
Adora’s about to push the door that’s slightly ajar in the staff room open when she hears Catra’s voice, she peeks inside and sees Glimmer and then decides to wait, give them some privacy as she waits until they finish talking.
“Adora, she’s… too good for me.” Catra sighs out, running a clawed hand through her hair, “And… I feel like if I admit that I want more with her it’ll just scare her and then I’ll go back to being miserable again.”
“Grumbly.” Glimmer corrects with a laugh before signalling that she’s sorry and then clears the throat, “Sorry. Go on.”
Catra glares at her, “I don’t think I could take it if she… if… she realises that I’m not all I’m cracked up to be.”
“You’re an idiot.” Glimmer scoffs out slapping the magicat on the shoulder annoyed, “If she’s managed to get past that Christmas shift with you, I’m pretty sure she’s already seen the worst of you, and you’ve definitely seen the worst of her.”
Catra’s ears perk up, “There’s nothing bad about her…”
“She pushes everyone away when she thinks she’s vulnerable or when she thinks she doesn’t deserve help, but with you?” Glimmer frowns out and Catra thinks that maybe there’s a touch of jealousy in there too as she continues, “But with you, she doesn’t do that. And stars… that is just so annoying. Of all people, you. You!”
Catra laughs, “That’s literally only because I took a photo of her when she was sick in bed and used it as leverage.”
“Hey!” Adora pushes herself inside the staff room, “Delete that!”
“Why?” Catra smiles at the blonde, “It’s my first picture of you. I think that warrants sentimental value in my eyes and as such, no way am I deleting that.”
“Ugh.” Adora groans out and the magicat laughs, “Well, then I should get an embarrassing picture of you too.”
“You want a photo of me?” Catra asks surprised.
“Yes.” Adora pouts crossing her arms over her chest like a child, “You’ve got one of me.”
Catra holds her hand out and Adora looks at it suspiciously, “Give me your phone, princess.”
“Oh. Why?” Adora hands over her phone despite asking the question, she barely has any time to ask another question when the magicat pulls the blonde in close, holds the phone up and snaps a photo, before handing the phone back, Adora looks at the pic, “Catra! I wasn’t even ready! Again!”
Catra shrugs and smirks, “But I look good right?”
Adora faux glares back the magicat before pulling Catra in by the collar and pressing her lips on hers, smiles gracing their lips making it hard to continue as there’s a loud clearing of someone’s throat in the back. Adora pulls back and smiles, resting her forehead on Catra’s ignoring Glimmer in the process, “Can we take another one?”
“Sure. Maybe later.” Catra replies pecking at Adora’s lips before Glimmer clears her throat again, “Need a cough lolly, Sparkles?”
“Can you guys not make out at work. It’s completely unprofessional.” Glimmer scolds the pair before grinning, “But, yay! Happy for you two.”
Adora blushes, “Uh… thanks.”
“Okay, okay.” Glimmer rolls her eyes, “Now, get back to work. You’re not on break.”
Catra laughs, “And they call my ‘Grumbles’.”
Glimmer quickly waves to them as she exits the staff room, Adora leans back in for one more kiss, “So… I’ve got cake in the fridge for today’s verdict and I think we can have it now to celebrate.”
Catra grins, “Definitely. Let’s celebrate.”
Adora nods, a smile on her lips as she detaches herself from the magicat and heads to the fridge and pulls out the cake, placing it on the table as Catra takes a seat and watches as Adora grabs a plate for the cake, “I know we aren’t technically on break, but…” the blonde takes a seat next to the magicat, breaking a small piece off and popping it into Catra’s mouth, “Well? What do you think?”
“I think you found a way to my heart, princess.” Catra grins as she savours the flavours of the cake in mouth, “We better save some of this for the others…”
Adora smiles as she leans in, “Don’t worry. The better one is at home. Just for us.”
Catra grins, “Mm… you baked 2 cakes?”
Adora nods.
“I think I’m in love.” Catra says without thinking as Adora feeds her another piece, the blonde pauses, a fingertip still resting against the magicat’s lip as she takes in what Catra has just said, and without missing a beat, Catra licks the finger on her lips and grins, “Yep. I’m definitely in love with you, princess.”
And without a second thought, Adora crashes her lips onto Catra, the sweetness from the cake on her lips now too as she whispers back, “I love you too.”
Catra purrs out, happy that Adora reciprocates her feelings of love, eventually their beepers go off and the magicat groans out, “We better get back to work.”
“Yeah.” Adora smiles back sadly, “My place after work?”
“Fuck yes, princess.” Catra replies with a grin as she gets up and puts the cake back in the fridge and cleans the plate they had used, “So… when can I move in?”
“Move in tonight. Now. Whenever you want.” Adora replies with the biggest smile on her lips and as she’s about to step out of the staff room she calls back, “I love you!”
Catra grins wide as she quickly shoots back, “Love you too, princess. We’ll finish this cake on our actual break!”
“I’m going to hold you to it!” Adora pops her head back in again quickly before taking off.
Catra smiles to herself as she pulls the door open and steps out of the staff room and thinks to herself, who knew I’d be won over by cake?
