Month 10 ~ The Pregnancy Finale

Preparing for a baby was something the Sinclair brothers were incredibly passionate about, yet entirely unprepared for.

Remus the ever doting elder brother, tried his best, he read books, payed for on Gomez’s dime, watched video’s - that endeavour however was short lived after a particularly gross video that forced his stomach contents into the toilet bowl. In short he tried his best to prepare himself for the inevitability that his baby sister would in a mere few weeks be giving birth.

It was still a daunting reality, and he fretted endlessly about the potential complications, dedicating more than the necessary hours watching medical dramas - that Wednesday quickly pointed out were almost always slightly inaccurate- so that he would be be prepared.

But when the day came, he wasn’t. He was in fact the first of the 7 brothers to collapse.

Chris didn’t do books as he kindly pointed out, but TV was his forte, therefore he often joined in with Remus’ endeavours watching educational videos. He regretted the decision to be responsible the moment he watched a live birth. It took hours, for Remus to explain to him that yes that actually happened, no it wasn’t edited, yes baby’s head’s are that large, and yes that was going to happen to Enid.

He paled at the thought, and spend a good amount of time, threatening Wednesday for the position that she’d subjected his sister to. Wednesday took it was grace of course, as was her nature threats were a form of affection.

And when the time finally came, as it was bound too, he wasn’t the first to pass out, he was the second, his face landing comfortably on the living room table, with an echoing thud.

Nikolai remembered health class unlike his other brothers and he therefore knew what was to come, that’s not to say it was a terrifying reality nor a daunting thought, but he knew what would happen. So he resolved himself in an effort to simply make Enid comfortably to aid her as much as possible.

Not that that was a particularly laborious job with Wednesday around, but it was his contribution.

And when the time came he didn’t pass out, unlike his brothers but that’s not to say he didn’t feel slightly uneasy when Enid announced that her waters had broken.

Danny, didn’t know anything, in fact his brothers had spent an entire day, with the help of videos and PowerPoint presentations, simply trying to explain to him that yes it did come through a hole that small, yes it hurt and no that’s the only way.

His face was white by the end of it, and he spend hours with Enid simply lay across her lap, holding her, out of fear perhaps, but mostly in an attempt to keep Wednesday away from his little sister. His brothers did then also have to explain that you can’t get pregnant whilst already pregnant. Not that it mattered.

Wednesday had defiled his baby sister, cursed her with the birthing process and he would not allow her to further sully his sister.

Wednesday begrudgingly spent a night in the nursery, sleeping on the daybed she’d built. Begrudgingly, although she was comforted by the many thoughts of murder than ran course through her thoughts even if Enid emphasised that she wasn’t allowed to kill Danny, or maim him, or torture him.

He did pass out, rather roughly hitting his head on the way down, in fact he could have sworn he heard Enid’s yells as he was being checked in the ER for a concussion when. They finally arrived at the hospital.

Max could relax at the thought that Enid was nearly at full term, he couldn’t settle the constant pins in his feet that sent him stalking around the Addam’s land hyper vigilant of potential threats.

It hadn’t been made better by the fight they’d had with their family and old pack, if anything it was worse. It was a reminder that he’d failed, failed to keep them safe, failed to protect them.

And he couldn’t fail again, not when there would be a pup involved he had to do better, be better. There was no margin for error and he couldn’t allow his mistakes to hurt his family. Not again.

He landed on top of Danny when he passed out, his older brother acting like something of a pillow.

William wanted to remain blissfully ignorant to the inevitable consequences of Wednesday and Enid’s - well their mistake? Could he call his future niece or nephew a mistake? Fundamentally they were but that had to form a sort of complex for the child. He’s been called a mistake and well he wanted to say it didn’t affect him but he’d be lying.

In either case as much as he wanted to remain oblivious he knew he couldn’t, Enid was mere days away from giving birth, and he still didn’t know how to think about it without shivering.

So he did what he did best ignored the problem until he couldn’t avoid it any longer.

He certainly could avoid it any longer when he passed out sprawled across the couch.

Colin didn’t feel like he had much to contribute, he was the second to youngest and still very much a baby himself. He lacked experience, but what he lacked in experience he made up for in enthusiasm.

He unlike his brothers could handle the videos, making diligent notes preparing a plan, he knew Wednesday likely had her own plan, meticulously detailed but this was his way, his way of showing that he cared.

Although that plan was quickly abandoned when he passed out golf club in hand as Enid told them her water had broken.

The Seven of them - once they’d been cleared of their own medical assessments for concussion as well as Morticia, Gomez and Pugsley all sat anxiously in the waiting room.

None moved or spoke, until Wednesday emerged smiling brightly.

Pugsley stood first, “Well what is it?”

Wednesday’s smile brightened, a chilling sight for some. “It’s an Addams. They both are.”
