Month 6 Pt 5

Airports are stupid, at least in Williams opinion. He got it, honestly he understood why they have to have all the bag checks and security stuff.

He understood, like 9/11 was awful and he understands why it's important in preventing something like that again.

He understood, but he didn't like it.

And he didn't like it because every single fucking time he got beeped, and then he had to be taken aside and either pat down and wanded or put into the ridiculously stupid looking x-ray machine, for then to realise that it was the fucking button in his pants pocket.

And the stupid fucking limits in aerosols and liquids, because really what's going to happen if he takes a half empty can of 150ml lynx Africa onto a flight? Nothing.

But still he had to say goodbye to the can that he had possessed for the last two months, a limited edition one at that.

It was a tearful goodbye.

But this was for Enid and the littlest pup so he would endure it.

...

He was fucking beeped again, but the TSA Agent was hot so small victories.

The Sinclair family didn't travel by plane often, where they could they were lumped into minivans and when they outgrew them it was a minibus.

But when they did they were seated in cattle class and taught to avoid stores that possessed inventory worth more than the entirety of their house.

Stores like Gucci and Versace, William wasn't sure he'd ever seen the inside of stores like those, stores and clothes that belonged to the 1%.

But that seemed to be all that he saw as the hand, Thing? He thinks it's called, he didn't really feel comfortable asking, lead them toward where Wednesday was.

Enid was practically vibrating in the centre of the protective circle that the seven of them had formed around Enid.

Enid knew that Wednesday had money, everyone at Nevermore did, the entire family was rich.

Enid even heard once that they were royalty or at least related to a royal family and that's why they had so much money.

It honestly wasn't all that far fetched and that thought only became more concrete when Enid walked into the lounge.

It was like money was dripping from the walls, or perhaps that was just the smell of champagne that made her nose wrinkle.

The sight of Wednesday made her stop, she was stood her back to the group of 8 that had just entered staring out of the window that faced the airstrip where the Addams Family jet sat.

But Enid could see her in the reflection, or more specifically what she was wearing. She could feel the tips of her ears going red.

"Wednesday?" The raven spun on her heel in a perfect half circle at the sound of her name, striding toward the wolf.

Danny blocked her way, a hand outstretched to prevent her getting any closer, and Wednesday didn't appreciate it, "If you don't move you will lose that hand."

Enid bit back a smile, "It's okay Danny, Wednesday's safe."

He stepped back slowly reluctantly, although the sight of his sister bounding toward the smaller teen was comforting to the raging inferno of his wolf senses.

Enid tried to hold her self back, truly she did, and she would have been able to resist hugging Wednesday had Wednesday's eyes not drifted down to her abdomen.

The bump was completely pronounced but after having shared a room for a month, Wednesday noticed and she hugged back?

That was potentially the weirdest experience of the last 48 hours.

Wednesday hugged her back, tightly. Enid let go eventually sensing that Wednesday was reaching the end of her tolerance for such a gesture and when she felt the cool ac replace what was previously shielded by silk shirt she regretted it.

"I assume they'll be coming with us?" Enid nodded shyly,

"Yes, I mean if that's okay of course?" She spat out the words quickly and nervously and was quickly reassured by Wednesdays cool and assured tone.

"Of course, I'm sure my family will be delighted to host, they always love showing off the house."

Max knew that if their lives were at all reflected by what he was currently seeing then there was no need to show off because they had surpassed their own family? Could he really call them that anymore? At least ten times over, maybe even a thousand times over.

“We’ll be taking off in an hour please enjoy the facilities.” There was no need to repeat herself as all seven of them rushed off to locate the food.

William didn’t truly know what to make of Wednesday, she seemed cold and rich, like the typical elitist snob that mostly attended Nevermore, that would often point out the holes in his blazer, because his mother couldn’t afford a new one for a few months.

And yet she hadn’t hesitated to tell them to dig in nor did she say anything at the fact all of them were wearing clothes that seemed well-loved.

Nor did she look down upon them, although that is rather difficult when they all sit at least a foot taller than her.

She wasn’t nice, that wasn’t a word he could use, based on her unwaveringly cold threat issued to Danny he knew that wasn’t the right word.

Protective? Maybe.
Scary? Defiantly, and yet William didn’t feel at all cautious at the notion of leaving her and Enid alone. It felt almost right, as if the sight he was currently seeing the pair of them sat opposite one another at a booth with food that Wednesday had brought to her separating them, was right.

Perhaps that was just the weird wolf thoughts telling him that the 5 foot sociopath was an adequate mate for his sister after seeing her provide for her.

He didn’t know what it was, but he did know that whatever happened in the next few months everything would be okay, eventually.
