“Wednesday not to introduce sunshine to your stormy parade but what the Hell, you look like you haven’t slept for weeks.” Wednesday grunted, because that seemed like an appropriate answer as Lilith approached.

“Sleep? I don’t need sleep, I need answers.” Lilith hummed moving a stack of books from a chair before she draped herself across the furniture,

“Answers to what?” Wednesday slammed the book she was reading shut, her eyes abruptly meeting Lilith’s,

“What these feelings are and why I’m having them.” Lilith nodded, that seemed reasonable, her methods perhaps not so much but who was she to judge,

“Alright, well what do they feel like?” Wednesday paused her ministrations for a moment,

“Lately it's been fear, but not the good kind I can enjoy, it’s unfamiliar, and annoying.” Lilith hummed, dragging a perfectly manicured nail over the spin of one of the books she procured from the many piles that surrounded Wednesday.

“And when did they start?” Another breath of silence,

“Five months ago, two days after I said goodbye to Enid.” A level of understanding crossed Lilith’s face, there it was the truth that stared at Wednesday blindly in the face, that Wednesday refused to acknowledge.

“And they hadn’t happened before that?” Wednesday ran a hand across her face, squeezing the bridge of her nose,

“I don’t know, my feelings and cognitive capacity were compromised while I attended Nevermore.” Lilith let out a huff, did she have to do everything herself?

She meandered over to the chalkboard that Wednesday had dragged into the Library, flipping the sides, to see a now blank board, “Alright, well I have nothing better to do so let’s figure this out.”

“Alright Operation Pup’s Pup is a go, we need to get Mom and Dad out of the house so that Enid can do well, Enid stuff, and then one of us will take her out, to the mall and stay with her just in case, and then when she comes back two of us will distract Mom while the others sneak her back upstairs.” Enid let out a sigh as she watched her brothers planning their equivalent of Mission Impossible.

She would admit they had been nicer lately, more considerate, but she attributed all of that to Remus and the pregnancy pheromones. Maybe that was why her youngest brother Colin, who was a year older than her, had insisted on carrying all her bags when she went out to the mall with some of her friends last week.

Or why they had started seeking her out for reassurance, it was probably all the weird smells that surrounded her, but she had to admit it was … well nice to have her brothers back again.

“Guys, it's not this serious, I just want to go to the mall.” Danny smiled widely his expression adorably canine as he draped himself across Enid’s lap,

“Not a big deal? We are the Men in Black keeping you safe from all of the dangerous aliens Pup, this is our mission and we chose to accept it.” Enid rolled her eyes, her hand subconsciously lowering to her abdomen, she wasn’t showing all that much yet, but she noticed.

“You guys are ridiculous.” Remus grinned his smile positively wolffish,

“Yes we are, now who will be taking Enid out and acting as her bodyguard for the day?” Six hands were raised and Remus skimmed the faces of all six of his brother,

“Alright Nik, you're with Enid, Danny, Colin you're with me on Mom and Dad duty and the rest of you, your jobs are tbd.” Chris looked at Remus confused,

“What’s tbd?” The slap to the back of his head echoed through Enid’s room, as Remus massaged his temples exhausted, you would never guess that Chris was the second eldest.

“To be determined idiot. Alright let's go, Enid do you remember the secret knock?” She nodded, of course she did, he spent an hour this morning teaching it to her, “Good, I will knock when the coast is clear okay?”

They were idiots, adorable idiots, but idiots nonetheless.

When all seven of them were out of her room Remus dragged them into his and Chris’ room hand outstretched expectantly, “Alright you know what to do.” There were several pained groans as money was slapped into Remus’ hand, and then thrust into Nik’s chest.

“You buy whatever her hands touch, am I understood? We don’t want the Addams’ thinking we can’t provide for the littlest wolf when her or she arrives alright? And she isn't to carry a single bag, just in case.” Nik nodded diligently, as if this were the most important moment of his life.

“So you realised that Enid was your lifelong Parole Officer when you kissed Tyler?” Wednesday hummed uncharacteristically tired,

“Among other things, yes.” Lilith nodded circling that moment on the timeline she’d drawn,

“Okay and after that did you experience anything like these feelings you’ve been having now?” Wednesday clenched her jaw,

“Perhaps when I didn’t know if Enid had prevailed in her battle against the Hyde.” Lilith let out a relieved sigh,

“Finally we’re getting somewhere, so these feelings, there’s every chance that they are connected to Enid? That she’s the reason you’ve been having them?” Wednesday nodded,

“That is a potential answer yes, but that would have to mean that Enid is also connected to me in some way, and that can’t be true she’s with Ajax.” If Lilith could slam Wednesday’s head into the table repeatedly she would, but House wouldn’t appreciate that.

“She’s on the family portrait Wednesday! That has to mean something!” She ducked a throwing knife that was thrown in her direction,

“And she shifted because you were in danger, you're not stupid Wednesday and I know you know that, that means something.” Wednesday shook her head,

“This means nothing without tangible evidence.” Lilith bit her tongue, the evidence was in the room behind her, sewn into fabric, it was irrefutable and the tapestry had never been wrong, ever, Lilith wasn’t sure that was even possible.
