The day has finally approached. The deadline for Keatings book report, and Knox had completed it just in time. And by that he meant he spent 2 hours that morning typing out the final details before emailing it to Keating.
What he didn't expect though, was to be sat in Keatings class with his head on the desk, and his hands resting on top of his head. The lamps in Keatings class had begun to flicker rapidly, triggering a migraine. And Knox didn't have any migraine relief tablets with him.
Behind him he could hear Charlie murmuring to Neil and Todd about about something to do with the movie playing on screen, or the fact that Cameron and Stick had started sitting next to eachother in all shared classes.
As it was the last class of the half term in Keatings class, they had voted on a movie to watch. Which somehow ended with them all watching LaLa Land.
But the noise of the movie only blared in his ears, making the pounding headache seat through the left side of his head. He whimpered quietly, praying for the class for end soon.
Charlie looked infront of him, noticing Knox's unusual silence. He drowned, getting up to crouch beside Knox.
"Knox, baby. What's wrong?"
Knox shook his head, covering his ears as he whispered.
"Migraine... Everythings so loud..."
Charlie nodded a bit in understanding.
"Okay. Give me a minute, I need to ask captain something. Drink some water from my bottle, okay?"
He handed Knox a water bottle, kissing his head before walking to Keating. He signaled to the office behind his classroom before walking in there, Keating following behind.
"Captain, Knox has a migraine. Is there any way you can sign me and him out of classes for the rest of the day? He can't stay in class, and I need to look after him because he won't remember his meds. Please?" He begged.
Keating looked at Charlie, and then at Knox, only now noticing how out of character the young man seemed.
"Very well. You collect yours and Mr Overstreet's bags and you can go. I'll sign you out for the day and email your teachers and explanation. If you need anything, email me, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can."
Charlie smiled, nodding to Keating before starting to head out to Knox, before he stopped in his tracks at Keatings next words.
"Congratulations on your Distinction grade paper, Mr Dalton. It was very thorough in explanation and feelings."
Charlie paused, looking at Keating as a wide grin spread across his face.
"Thank you Captain!"
He rushed out, going to Knox, kneeling beside his desk.
"Come on, baby. Were going back to our dorm. You can lay in bed, take your meds, and have a nice long sleep. Okay?"
Knox whined a bit, nodding as he slowly got up, clutching Charlie's water bottle as he took small sips. He quietly walked out of the room alongside Charlie, who had now given Knox his sunglasses to avoid further irritation to his eyes.
Once the door to their dorm was unlocked, Knox quickly kicked his shoes off, handed Charlie his bottle back, and made a beeline to his bedroom, changing into a set of pyjama shorts and shirt, grabbing his medication before running across the hallway to Charlie's dorm, and burrowing in his bed.
Charlie smiled softly, setting their bags down by the door, locking it again as he walked to the kitchen, grabbing some crackers and refilling his bottle before going to his bedroom, seeing Knox sat waiting for him.
Knox had always been very independent, but since meeting Charlie back at Welton, Charlie had always helped him whenever he got his migraines.
Charlie helped Knox eat some crackers so his stomach wasn't empty, and handed him 2 tablets and the waterbottle, watching Knox take the medicine. He lay down next to Knox, holding him close as Knox slowly fell asleep in his arms, his head resting against Charlie's chest, listening to the steady heartbeat.
He would always be greatful for everything Charlie does for him.
It made him love him even more each time.
