The first day back!
Me and Valentina were riding in the same winged boat and we were chatting away. Mostly about what we think the freshmen were gonna look like and act like. We also hope that they aren’t nearly as bad as I was last year and that we will have a peaceful school year for once. Once we docked we grabbed our suitcases and both me and Valentina had only brought one. I look around excited and also not to be back at unicorn academy.
“Oh look the strays could afford to go to this school, what a surprise” the voice caught both my and Valentina's attention. It sounded exactly like jack and who was with him you might ask? The twins who are standing behind Amy. I am super surprised to see them here and so is Valentina. But I can ask questions later because I am not about to let him get away with bullying the twin, especially not in front of me and the rest of the freshmen.
“Come on Valentina, I have something to take care of. you wanna come with?” I asked her.
“I'll come with but I am not getting my hands dirty on the first day back Mendoza” she responded and we walked over to them. After our suitcases were taken care of. I stand in front of them and Valentina stands to the side of me.
“Oh you gotta be kidding me you're here too?” Jack said, rolling his eyes.
“Hi again jack unless you wanna get your nose broken just like Noah, get your ass away from my friends” I said and the rest of the freshmen were surprised two Sophomores were protecting some freshmen.
“Ugh fine you strays are lucky” jack said directing the comment at the twins
“That also means no nicknames jack” I said, tired of his attitude. That's when I noticed the rest of the sapphire dorm watching us. Well that's fun.
“Fine fine I'm going jeez” Jack said as he walked away.
“Finally you three okay?” i turned and asked my friends
“So this is where you transferred huh?” Amy asked, “and yes we’re okay” she quickly added
“Good, and yes I go to school here and now you three do as well. I guess you're a late transfer Amy? I asked her considering she is older than me
“I suppose maybe I'll get into your dorm!” she says excitedly
“Well i hope not I've had enough of you four over the summer i think i can only handle one of you over the school year as well” Valentina cut in and stated.
“Aww come on admit it Val you love us! We’re so much fun, how could you not?" said Saige while Valentina rolled her eyes and smiled. The rest of the sapphire dorm walks up to us.
“Sophia!” ava says excitedly and rushes to hug me
“Hi ava good to see you too” i responded “ good to see you guys to”
“Who are these soph?” Zach asked who had stepped to my side studying the sapphire dorm. The others who know how much I hate that nickname because I never responded to it last year are expecting me to ignore his question.
“These are my dorm mates Zach together with me and Val were the sapphire dorm” i answered plainly, “ anyways we should get going Ms. primrose expects all freshmen and sophomores to meet in the main hall right about now”
“Sophia's right! Zach Saige and Amy let's get going, don't want to be late on your first day now would we?” Valentina cut in
“Yeah yeah don’t rush us Val!” Saige said rolling her eyes as she and the others followed after us
“Woah Valentina calling Sophia by her first name that's a miracle!” Isabel said teasingly
“I wonder when we get to see our unicorns again. I miss playing pranks with storm!” Rory said pouting
“We'll probably see them after the orientation Rory” Layla informed. Me, Valentina and the twins are laughing and Amy is shaking her head. Saige had told a weird joke that Amy found concerning but we found it hilarious.
“Oh come on, that was funny Amy!” i said
“concerning is what that was” Amy replied
“Sure it was, you just have no sense of humor!” Saige said as we walked into the main hall laughing and giggling. That's when Ms. Primrose clears her throat signaling us to shut up.
“Welcome to unicorn academy freshmen and welcome back sophomores!” Ms. Primrose says, “due to some issues with behavior with freshmen last year we have decided to pair the sophomores' dorms with their freshmen counterparts. So sophomores get with your dorm mates while the freshmen are given their dorms”
Me and Valentina stand over by Isabel, Layla, ava, and Rory while we wait to see who we are going to spend the next school year with
“Be honest we definitely caused the new rule” i said
“We? There is no we Sophia that was all you” Valentina responded
“Honestly that’s fair anyways how was your guys summer?” i asked the others
“Oh it was great! I spent all of it with my family!” Ava said, sounding so happy.
“Yeah same here but i also was training with my coach over the summer” Isabel said right after ava finished
“Yeah i spent a lot of time reading but i also won a math competition with first place” Layla responded
“Oh that's amazing Layla I didn't know you did competitions?” Isabel asks
“Thanks i usually don’t but my mom convinced me it would be a good way to test my skills” Layla answered
“That's fun i played a lot of pranks on my family to make up for lost time” Rory said
“Ever use a fake gun?” I asked jokingly. Since the first time my friends and I got arrested it involved a gun. It kinda became a running joke. me and Valentina laugh while the others have no idea what's so funny.
“Uh, what's so funny you two?” Ava asked. The others found it strange that me and Valentina were getting along this well on the first day back, even though the last school year ended quite rocky.
“Oh nothing, just an inside joke” I responded. Then the freshmen were given their new dorms and guess what Saige and Zach and Amy all got sapphire dorm! So that means we get to spend this school year together! But Jack also got sapphire dorm so that's a whole set of difficulties. I guess they just put problem children with problem children.
“I guess you're stuck with us, this school isn’t that great?” i asked them
“Yeah, that's amazing! We get to spend this school year all together” said Saige, hugging me. I hugged her back as well.
“Great i hope you know I'm probably the one who caused that rule to be put in motion” i respond
“Would not expect anything less from this group honestly” Amy said
“Great I'm stuck with the strays for the entire school year” jack said
“Jack I will still do the same thing I did to Noah to you so stop with the insults and learn to get along or this is gonna be a rough year for you guys” i said, “ i mean me and Valentina didn’t get along at first but were besties now!”
“That's debatable!” Valentina said. The entirety of our group starts laughing expect for jack who doesn’t get it.
