Yul thought about what James had said. After he was eliminated, he lost everything. His fans, his career and much more. Were the things he did to Grett wrong? Was it a weakness to apologize to him?
Yul would never, ever apologize to people. People always apologized to him, but now the situation had turned around.
Yul looked at them. Grett was having fun with Gabby and Ellie. All three girls were having a water fight with each other and were having a lot of fun.
Yul sometimes wasn't thinking about what would have happened if he was like them.
Maybe James was right. What could he lose if he apologized to her?
Yul slowly approached towards them. He seemed very nervous. It's like he's going to die of a heart attack right there.
Yul covered his burnt face with his hand. He was biting his lip. It wasn't easy to apologize to someone. Of course, he made fake apologies, but this time... it was supposed to be a real apology... I guess.
Yul went to the girls.
The girls saw Yul coming and their happy faces turned into angry faces at that moment.
All three girls looked at him angrily.
Grett: What do you want, Yul? Or are you going to harass me again?!
Grett angrily asked her ex. She was no longer afraid of him.
Yul took a deep breath and looked at them.
Yul: Grett... could I have a word with you for a second, please?
Ellie raised her eyebrow and looked at Yul. The girls were suspicious. It was the first time Grett had seen Yul so helpless the whole time. It was the first time he had heard her voice like that.
Grett looked at the girls. The girls nodded their approval.
Grett then looked at her toxic ex-lover.
Grett: Okay, but if you say one stupid thing, I'll get back to the others before you finish your speech!
Grett said.
Yul: Okay, but just listen.
Yul told her.
Grett got out of the pool and followed her toxic ex-lover.
Grett was looking at Yul, but she was quite doubtful that he would say anything properly.
Grett: Alright Yul, what were you going to say?
Grett asked, but she knew nothing would come of this conversation.
Yul took a deep breath and said those words.
Yul: I'm sorry...
Grett didn't understand what Yul was saying because Yul had said it in a rather hoarse voice.
Grett: What did you say?
Yul: I'm sorry...
He said it again in a low voice. Grett did not understand again.
Grett: Can you say what you mean in a loud voice? I can't waste any more time with you.
Yul: I'm sorry...
Grett: Say it again.
Yul: I'm sorry...
Grett: Higher.
Yul: I'M SORRY, OKAY?!
Yul said in a louder voice, shouting at his ex-girlfriend.
Grett: You and the apology? Is this another one of your fake apologies?
Grett asked.
Yul: No, it's not, it's a real apology, the apology you deserve after a long time. An apology for the things I've done to you.
Grett: As if I could forgive you with an apology.
Grett rolled an eye.
Yul: I know, but... at least I'm trying. I've never made a real apology in my life. Because I'm telling you this first...
Yul took another deep breath, but he was starting to get a little emotional.
Yul: You put up with a jerk like me for months and months... you don't deserve what I've done to you. I'm not a relationship guy and I am... thing...
Grett: What are you?
Yul: I'm scared, okay?!
Grett: Scared? From what?
Yul: From messing things up again! From ruining everything again! From looking like them again! And again I tell myself that I need to get better, but I can't do it again!
Grett was surprised.
Grett: Ruining things?
Yul: Look, I don't know how to say this, but I'm... actually, I'm bisexual at one point. My parents come from a homophobic family. Also, it didn't please my family that the fans were sending me with men. That's why I fled to my own country, actually, my family forced me to do it, but still...
Grett: Yul... there was nothing wrong with being bisexual. Almost all the people here are like this. Bisexual, Pansexual, Gay, Lesbian, Transgender, Aromantic and many other orientations.
Yul: I know, but even if I acted homophobic, that's how I became... at some point I got tired of insulting myself. Also... i don't trust people easily. Whoever my parents trust, I trust them or try to trust them. I don't trust my managers, but my parents make me do whatever I need to do. In my previous relationships, my family was also involved in this. They didn't interfere with yours because I kept them out of it this time. But I didn't want my parents to ruin this the way they ruined my previous relationships... i think when I've been acting like them for years, it's kind of stuck to me like a mold.
Grett was confused listening to Yul. He couldn't believe it.
Grett: These are... Is it really true? You tried not to be like your parents, but did you end up like them?
Grett asked.
Yul: Yeah, but... it doesn't change any of the things I've done to you... i'm really sorry, Grett. I'm just a stupid k-pop wannabe bitch...
Grett hugged Yul. Normally, Yul hated physical contact, but this time he just stood there.
Grett: It doesn't mean that I completely forgive you, but still... maybe we can start over. As a friend.
Yul smiled.
Yul: I really would like that.
Yul told his ex-girlfriend.
Grett: Well, now that we've closed the old notebooks a little bit, I'm going to go to the other girls. Maybe we'll talk again later.
Yul: I'll see you later, Grett.
Grett waved to her ex and went to the other girls.
Yul had achieved something for the first time in his life.
For once he had made up his own mind to be like himself.
Yul wasn't the worst here anymore.
He was a man who was getting better.

Note: This story is similar to Riya's, but not quite like that. I may have stepped out of Yul's real personality in this story. I hope it wasn't too much of a problem. Actually, I was going to make Yul gay, so he was going to admit that he was gay, but I decided to make him bisexual for Yulgrett's partial potential formation.
