DANDY'S WORLD SHIP ONESHOT COLLECTION!!

Tick….. Tock….. Tick…. Tock….

The steady ticking never failed to taunt Cosmo in the early hours of the morning–2AM to be exact. He hadn't had a wink of sleep in a sleep due to other toons asking him for favors. Which, of course, he couldn't say no to. He lifted his hands up to his face, flexing his fingers and feeling the stiffness in his joints. With an eye roll, he dropped his hands back down and turned in bed to try and get comfortable.

A grumble. Left side doesn't feel good. He flipped himself over to his opposing side along with stuffing one arm underneath the pillow his head rested on top of. A quiet, deep whine of disapproval. Right side wouldn't do either. He begrudgingly flopped onto his back and stared up at the ceiling again. Maybe he should try counting pebbles again?

He slowly forced his eyes to shut. One pebble.. Two pebbles… 3 Pebbles- Ok this wasn't working either. He sat upright with his head in his hands and let out a frustrated groan.

“Cos…? You ok, dude?” A voice full of sleep made the cake roll toon flinch and stare at the source of the noise. The familiar strawberry toon perked his head up from the sleeping bag that was on the floor right by Cosmo’s bed. He rubbed his eye with a yawn as he stared up at Cosmo quizzically. 

Oh yeah, Sprout wanted to sleepover tonight. 

“O-Oh!- Yeah, I guess.” 

The taller of the two narrowed his eyes at the other. He definitely wasn't buying that obvious lie.

“Can’t sleep?” Sprout pushed the covers of his sleeping back off of himself as he looked at Cosmo properly.

Cosmo was hesitant before he sighed and nodded in defeat. “I just can't get comfortable, I don't know.”

Wordlessly, the strawberry toon stood up and lightly pushed Cosmo over in his bed. Not by much, just enough for Sprout to fit himself in next to him. It was awkward due to Cosmo’s bed DEFINITELY not being meant for a toon as tall as Sprout, but with a scrunch of his legs, he made it work.

“What are you?-” He was cut off with a light squeak. He felt himself get tugged to lay back down, but this time with Sprout right next to him. He blinked in bewilderment at the sudden and rather forward action. He reluctantly glanced at the strawberry toon and silently pleaded with his eyes in question to why Sprout was doing this.

A mumble came from the strawberry toon as he shuffled Cosmo right against his chest.

“I’ll help ya.” He muttered once more, exhaling a breath as he closed his eyes and rested against Cosmo in bed.

Help me??? How would THIS help me- 

His racing thoughts were cut off as he felt the warmth of Sprout’s body temperature coming off from him. He was like some damn heater, how is he so warm?? Cosmo thought for a moment before he brought an arm around Sprout’s torso and nestled into his touch. If Cosmo listened close enough he could also hear Sprout’s gentle heartbeat. When he realized what the noise was, he couldn't help but blush at the thought of Sprout being so calm right now as he held Cosmo. Was he really this comfortable around him?- 

He could hear Sprout’s quiet breaths slowly morph into nearly silent snores. The pastry toon raised his head just a bit to look up at the strawberry toon’s face. He was somehow already back to sleep again. Cosmo took note of how messy Sprout’s leaves looked at the moment–sticking out of place in several spots and even having some loose, thin vines in-between a few leaves.

A smile grew on Cosmo’s face as he took in his appearance. Cute. 

The pastry toon was soon blessed with a yawn, sleep finally ready to claim him. His eyelids fluttered closed as he

joined Sprout in the realm of sleep.
