Your mother and father had been followers for the dark lord, after Luka found out his wife Viquie was pregnant they decided that it would be best for their daughter not to be born into a dark life. Luka told the dark lord about there departure but not the reason behind it. Luka was dragged away from his wife and they could never see each other again. You (The reader) are born into a secluded life where no sunlight could reach you.
