edit for those not familiar with homestuck:
the troll society has a caste system based on blood colour. the hemospectrum runs rust-bronze-gold-lime-olive-jade-teal-blue-indigo-purple-fuchsia. the colour of the blood is also visible in the eyes and tears of an adult troll; there are certain powers/abilities that may come with certain castes and the life expectancy gets longer the higher up the spectrum a troll is. low-bloods have lifespans close to those of humans while high-bloods might live for hundreds of years. the only exceptional caste is the ruling caste fuchsia that may live for millennia (but there are only ever a few individuals fighting for the title of ruler). in the comic the low-bloods serve the high-bloods and are at the mercy of their whims whereas canonically in an alternate version of their society the longer-living castes served the shorter-lived ones.

anyway, this is a handy-dandy visual of the characters signs - necro-cav pairs starting with lyctors by order of ascension and then the new batch in house order. didnt repeat the 9th so that sad little lime sign in the corner is ortus lmao

a basic rundown:
- slurry logic so no actual siblings (may apply moirail-logic instead)
- ectobiological descendants do exist but theres 12 (+12) trolls in hs and 9 (+9) + 8(8) tlt main chars so some of them i made so called true zodiacs while others are from the extended zodiac
- for extra angst potential, not all descendants got the same aptitude (or lack thereof) as their ascendants. im pretending its about more than just genetic code. please come join me in my sandbox
- gideon is a red-blood mutant after john
- harrow is a fuchsia-blood (soul amalgamation) but bears a strong likeness to anastasia
- 9th house has much less ornate face paint
- 9th house wears silver in place of blood-colours
- 8th has mime paint though LMAO
- 8th house wears pearlescent white robes
- only 4th house are young enough to have both candycorn horns AND grey pupils
- harrow and silas have adult horns but still grey pupils
- nona has harrow's fuchsia eyes (but harrow imagines her fuchsia eyes in her nova au)
- limebloods do exist
- fuchsiabloods do not:
-- alectos monstrous fuchsia and johns mutated alecto-given red get switched when john fashions her a body
-- john was limeblood-born, turned red when necromantic abilities showed
-- alecto held gl'bgl'-like scream-powers which john also inherited
- john has alecto wear his sign while he himself creates a new sign for himself
-- but he has it stitched fairly small and not part of an elaborate outfit cause hes Just Some Guy! :-) so kindly, wow!
- lyctors keep their blood (except for john) but get their cavs eyes upon ascension
- ianthe's horn was mutilated to mirror coronas but returned to its true shape during ascension. i like to imagine that whenever she desperately misses corona she intentionally mutilates it on the mithraeum again and again only to have it return to normal every time :)
- trolls escaping homeworld took the world (earth) that shouldve been john&co's prize for their session:
-- john's scream destroyed all of Alternia but couldn't reach the escapees once they entered through the portal to Earth
-- traversing the furthest ring/river to hunt for BoB (Blood of Beforus)
-- humans do exist and BoB trolls co-habitate with humans
-- new rho is on Earth
- didnt want to give them all troll-length names but a lot of them fit well in the tlt canon (eg harrow & gideon) anyway or with very little adjustments (eg abigyl, ortuus). i just felt like ive already done far too much with the castes, signs, and horns
