"So this is Beni huh?"
EKKO
Ekko could only stare in shock at the little white-haired baby, ever since he had arrived at this place he had only received surprise after surprise. It got to the point where he thought he could faint at any moment, there were so many things he didn't know and that hadn't happened yet, it was all very confusing. There were a lot of things that needed to be changed about the future, but for now the only things he didn't want to change were the two children in front of him.
Isha with her bright brown eyes and the mysterious Beni who was his son all along, looking at him with his tearful two-tone eyes. Two beautiful children, the children he had only seen in those dreams from which he woke up only to cry because he believed they would never exist. He had to talk to Jinx very urgently, he had completely given up on her and that was very stupid, that woman despite everything loved him and he loved her so painfully. He just wanted a chance to talk to her, to apologize, for her to apologize back (which seems unlikely), to get over the pain together and move forward together, that's what he wanted.
But there was a deep fear inside in a corner of his head that was simmering. They still didn't know what had happened to Jinx, how she had killed Silco and Caitlyn's mother, who had beaten Jinx to near death. And perhaps the most important question right now, why did Beni have a hextech gemstone in his little hands?
The dark-skinned baby had a soft onesie that resembled a rather adorable dinosaur, covering him completely. Ekko's heart melted as he watched Isha hug his little brother so lovingly.
Ekko, with soft steps so as not to scare the poor baby further, approached and crouched in front of them, causing Isha to smile at him.
"So this is Beni huh?" He asked his daughter to which she nodded enthusiastically. The baby babbled adorably, his little hands playing with the gemstone.
Why the hell did he have that? Jinx gave it to him? He doubted it, she wouldn't leave something so dangerous at their disposal, she wouldn't put them in danger.
Ekko pointed at the gemstone and asked Isha. "Do you know what that is?"
Isha nodded, unwrapping her arms from Beni so she could speak. "It's a stone with magic, that's what mommy said."
Ekko nodded, feeling Silco crouch down beside him to gently caress Beni's face.
"And do you know why Beni has it?" The younger man asked his daughter and he could swear her eyes clouded over briefly, before she shrugged.
"I don't remember."
"Was Beni dressed like this the last time you saw him?" Ekko asked Isha with concern in his chest.
Isha nodded, adjusting her helmet. "We were with Mom and he, in... in..." She paused, trying to remember, Ekko noticed her eyes clouding over again. "I don't remember."
"Do you remember the day before that, Isha?" Silco asked her softly. Isha pulled the gemstone from Beni's fingers.
"We went with Mom, Beni and... and... Someone else I think, to the tunnel with lights." Isha said looking at her grandfather, who looked at her confused, the tunnel with lights... could it be his and Vander's hiding place? Maybe Jinx had found it, but why had she gone there?
Ekko translated everything Isha said.
The adult Vi and Vander approached the children, little Beni babbled, stretching his arms out to his grandfather Vander.
The older man with a smile picked up the baby and wrapped him in his arms, the adult Vi leaned on his shoulder to look at the baby. The baby reached out his hands to touch his grandfather's beard making him laugh softly.
"He's beautiful," whispered the adult Vi, staring enthralled at her nephew. "He looks just like Powder when she was a baby."
"Of course, he's her son." The teenage Vi said rolling her eyes, she was upset her adult counterpart was hogging the baby and she wanted to meet him too. Who knows? Maybe in her timeline Isha and Beni will one day exist, although when Powder and Ekko were adults, they didn't need a teenage pregnancy like Jinx.
The adult Vi ignored her counterpart's comment, reaching out a finger to her nephew who took it with his hands wet with drool, but she didn't care. He was perfect.
"I want to see my grandson too," Benzo said with a small laugh as he approached Vander who gently handed him the baby.
Ekko felt something heal inside him every time he saw his father with Isha and now also with Beni, it was something he only saw in his most fantastic dreams but here it was in front of him. It was real.
Benzo rocked the baby who seemed to be trying to laugh, making him laugh. "We have the same name, grandson."
Yeah, that made a lot of sense now too. Isha for Jinx's mom, Beni for his dad. He couldn't help but wonder what their third child's name would be. He was already thinking about having another child when only what he believed were hours had passed since he found out he was a father. But he always wanted many children with his blue girl, they would have as many as she really wanted but many children that looked like her or him would be beautiful.
He had no doubt that Jinx was the best mother, she balanced her life in the best way between being the loose cannon of Zaun and an incredible mother to her little girl. He still didn't know the whole life of his daughter or his son but they looked well fed, without wounds, without fears except for Isha's nightmares and how protective she was.
He wanted to be a good father, he knew that maybe he was doing a good job since he met Isha but that was for a few hours, it hadn't been days or even months. He still had a lot to learn, he would try to be the best father possible, like the one he had and the ones Jinx had.
He was brought out of his thoughts when he felt Isha gently tugging at his pant leg. "What's wrong, bunny?"
"I have more like this." Isha said, showing the hextech gemstone that Beni had brought.
Why did she have more? It was dangerous, that and the fact that she couldn't remember much of her last time with her mom was worrying.
"Can you show them to me?" Ekko asked, to which Isha nodded and went to get her backpack, he would take the gemstone and put it in a safe place, although he didn't really know how they worked.
Isha returned with her backpack and took out two more gemstones, now there were three. Three of the most powerful stones in Piltover and Zaun. And her daughter and son had them, they were with Jinx before... Jinx obviously had the gemstones, what was she using them for?!
While everyone was busy with Beni, Ekko was having a crisis over the damn hextech gemstone.
"Isha are you sure you don't remember anything else?" Ekko asked her again, he had to get some answer.
Isha thought for a moment before answering. "There was a wolf and a man, mommy called him a fortune cookie."
That left him even more confused. A wolf? There were no wolves in Piltover, let alone Zaun. And a fortune cookie, which was actually a man...
What was going on?
