"My love"
Quick note: everything in italics and bold are thoughts and can be heard by those present, sort of like a voice-over.
Part 1
"Does this mean Jinx is now mutated with Shimmer?" Caitlyn asked trying to understand the scene they just saw.
"I think so." Ekko answered absentmindedly, still thinking about the small figure beside Jinx. "I never knew the shimmer had that kind of variant."
"I just want to know who hit her like that, she looked dead," Mylo said tactlessly.
Ekko wanted to know too, who was able to get close enough to the threat that was Jinx and nearly kill her. He knew that many people wanted to kill Jinx but he also knew that there were more people who were scared of her, no one dared to challenge her, you wouldn't get out of that alive.
"Silco seemed really worried about her," Powder said, playing with her hands.
Little Ekko beside her nodded. "He looked terrified."
Vander sighed, ruffling his hair. "It's her father, he's obviously worried."
All the teenagers and children looked at him in surprise.
"You're her father," the teenage Vi said, frowning.
Vander shook his head, feeling his heart twist a little. "I'm dead in her reality, Silco is her father now."
Adult Vi looked at him, not pleased with what he was saying. Jinx surely hadn't forgotten Vander, right? No, she couldn't have...
Before they could continue talking the projector turned on again.
"Is there more?" Mylo asked lazily.
"If we're going to see Jinx's life then we're going to be here for a long time." Adult Vi said as she leaned back on the couch, she could only hope that nothing bad would happen in this scene.
Mylo grunted in disappointment as he crossed his arms.
The scene begins with Jinx in front of a full-length mirror with her shirt lifted up and showing her belly.
Ekko perked up at that, were they going to show them Jinx's pregnancy? Maybe he could see his child, he could see everything he missed.
The sight of Jinx reminded adult Vi that her baby sister was going to have a baby now, well, she already had one and she didn't even know. The child was maybe 3 or 4 years old and she didn't know them.
"It's small." Jinx said, touching her belly, which had a slight curve.
Silco, who was sitting on the couch in Jinx's place and watching her intently, replied, "The doctor said that since you're so skinny, your belly might not grow as much."
Jinx with her blue hair tied in a half ponytail that reached her thighs growled in displeasure. She turned around to sit next to Silco, pushing the Mylo doll off the couch. "You stay down, you misbehaved."
"T-that's me?" Mylo asked in surprise, everyone present was confused, why did Jinx have a doll of her older brother there?
"She talks to him like he's alive." Caitlyn said looking at Jinx warily, she knew something was wrong with her but this...
"What did he do now?" Silco asked, putting his arm around his daughter's shoulders.
"And he takes it as a normal thing, she must do that often." Adult Vi replied to Caitlyn.
Ekko pursed his lips, he knew she did that, talking to inanimate objects as if they were alive. When he heard her do that for the first time he told himself that that was the limit of the love he had for her and after that... he slept with her...
"He was screaming and being so annoying last night, he doesn't deserve the couch." Jinx said, snuggling into her dad's arms.
Silco sighed and hugged her tightly. "You and I still have to talk, you know that right?"
Jinx made a noise with her mouth and pulled away from him a little. "I don't know what you want to talk about."
"Don't play dumb, we'll talk about your pregnancy," Silco said, playing with her daughter's hair.
Vander felt envy rise inside him, he should be there with Jinx, but he was dead to her and Silco was alive, his best friend, his brother...
"There's nothing to talk about, I'll keep the baby."
Jinx shrugged, it had been three days since they had seen the doctor Silco had brought for her from Piltover, they had only confirmed what she already knew. A waste of time, if you ask her.
The teenage Vi whistled in amazement. "How much money does Silco have? How can he afford a piltie doctor?"
"Believe me, he has a lot of money, he basically owns half the city and has dealings with a lot of people in Piltover and beyond." Ekko said in an annoyed tone, so much money and most of it was from selling shimmer both as a drug and as a medicine. He did not allow any kind of shimmer to enter the sanctuary unless it was a matter of life or death.
Vander was surprised by Ekko's words, when he led the city he didn't have that kind of money but not even close, but Silco was always a better negotiator than him. The good thing? Silco could pamper his little girl as she deserved in a way that he couldn't.
Apparently she was two months pregnant, it fit with the time she had been away from Ekko, it's not like she had fucked someone else, the mere thought made her nauseous.
All the teenagers made a face of disgust upon hearing the words of the one who for them was their little sister.
Ekko couldn't help but feel happy at her words, since he had slept with her he hadn't done it with anyone else, he couldn't, it was either her or no one. He was glad that Jinx thought a little like him.
As Silco had said, she had options and she thought them through carefully. The best option would be to abort the fetus and that would be it, save them a shitty life. All night long she tossed and turned, thinking, looking at her barely curved belly, until she came to a conclusion: this could be a second chance. A second chance to do things right, to expand their family, to take care of this little human being and give them all the love they need.
Powder smiled softly, her counterpart would have a baby with the adult Ekko, she could only hope that something similar would happen to her in the future. Janna knows how much in love she was with Ekko, she knew he was in love with her, everyone knew it, but she didn't want a relationship yet, they were little. She just wanted them to remain children. Just a little more.
A tiny human made of Ekko and her... She could only imagine them perfect. Because that's how it would be, there was no way in the universe that Ekko and her wouldn't create a perfect baby.
Ekko nodded, a baby of theirs could only turn out perfect. He was so eager to see the baby, his son or daughter, what would it be called? What would it look like? What would it sound like?
"Are you sure?" Silco asked, pulling away from the hug to look at her. "It's a lot of responsibility, Jinx."
"I know." Jinx rolled her eyes and put her feet up on the couch.
Silco sighed at her response. "This is a human being who will depend 100% on you, are you sure?"
Jinx looked at him in exasperation as she crossed her arms. "I already told you I'm sure, sheesh."
The man raised his eyebrows and nodded. "Okay, then you'll stay here until you give birth."
The blue-haired girl looked at him in surprise. "What? You can't do that."
"Yes I can. It would be very dangerous for you if someone knew about your pregnancy, you are vulnerable in this state." Silco said, crossing his legs.
Adult Vi couldn't believe she agreed with Silco but he was right, she couldn't defend herself much in her state.
Jinx got up from the couch and started pacing back and forth listening to Silco's words.
"But I don't want to be here alone." She said with a pout.
Silco looked at her warmly. "You won't be alone, I'll come to see you every day, Sevika will come too."
When Sevika was mentioned, the adult Vi grunted in displeasure. She hated that woman.
At the mention of Sevika Jinx rolled her eyes. "That grumpy ogre she must be happy not to have to watch me."
The adult Vi let out a small laugh when she saw that her sister didn't like Sevika very much either.
The man gave a small laugh and nodded. "Indeed she is."
"I don't want to talk about that idiot," Jinx said, waving her hands as if shooing away flies. "I want to talk to you about the plans."
Jinx's blue eyes glowed with manic energy before she ran off to retrieve several sheets of paper from her desk, picked them up, and ran to hand them to Silco.
"That's my whole plan. I read the whole book that the dear doctor gave me and according to what I read, many pregnant women make plans for their entire pregnancy, so that's what I did." Jinx smiled proudly, putting her hands on her hips as she watched Silco read the pages.
Vander smiled tenderly at how proud his daughter looked.
"What is this?" Silco pointed to a drawing on one of the pages.
"That, dear dad, is a gun," Jinx nodded with a smile.
"For the baby?"
"Who else is it going to be for?" Jinx asked, looking at him confused.
Everyone jumped at that.
"She... Surely she's not going to give a gun to a baby right?" Caitlyn asked with a little fear.
Ekko didn't know what to say to that, he wanted to believe that Jinx wouldn't give a real gun to her own baby, maybe to someone else's but his own... he hoped not.
"You're not going to give a gun to a baby."
"Thanks, finally someone with some common sense," Mylo said, not realizing he was bothering Ekko.
"It won't be a real gun, it'll be a toy gun, silly." Jinx told him with a giggle.
Everyone sighed in relief. Ekko felt an anvil being lifted off his back, one less thing to worry about for now.
Silco sighed in relief, but he would try to change Jinx's mind later.
"These are the plans for the crib." Jinx pointed to one of the sheets. "I made them last night."
Silco examined the plans, they were very well done like all the ones his daughter made, but there was one small problem. "Where will this go?"
"You're a bit inquisitive today, aren't you?" the blue-haired girl asked, shaking her head. "It will be attached to my bed, one of the rails can be removed and it will fit perfectly."
Ekko stretched a little to get a better look at the plans. "They're well done, maybe I'd change a few things."
"What things?" little Ekko asked curiously.
"Maybe add something to the legs of the crib to improve mobility for when Jinx wants the crib to be separated from her bed or wants to move it to another location."
"Your bed didn't take up the whole room?" Silco asked.
"I broke the wall, I thought it would fall on me for a moment but it didn't and I joined the empty room next door to mine, now it's much bigger." Jinx told him with a big smile.
"A piece of concrete almost fell on her head?" Benzo asked speechlessly.
Silco looked at her for a moment, she was going to give him a heart attack one day. "Next time you're going to do something like that, let me know."
Jinx shrugged it off, she was fine although a rock almost fell on her head but the key word here is ALMOST.
Ekko shook his head, she would give him a heart attack too.
"Anyway, I need fabric." The blue-haired girl smiled adorably at her father, as she always did when she wanted something.
Vander smiled softly knowing that smile, Powder used it a lot on him and most of the time it worked.
Silco didn't look at her because he already knew her tricks, anyway he would get her almost everything she asked for.
"What do you need fabric for?"
Jinx shuffled through the pages haphazardly, searching for one in particular. "Here." She handed it to Silco.
He inspected the page carefully, they were designs of baby clothes, blankets and stuffed animals.
"I don't want the baby to wear strangers' things, everything they'll have I'll make." Jinx smiled, bringing a hand to her barely visible belly.
Ekko smiled with warmth in his heart, seeing this new side of Jinx so... Motherly was a hug to his soul. He didn't realize he needed to see Jinx like this until he came to this strange place.
"Felicia was the same way with you guys," Vander said, pointing at the two Vi's and Powder. "She took care of everything about you, from clothes to hair."
The two Vi and Powder smiled softly, their mother was always a sensitive subject so they hardly ever talked about her.
Silco briefly looked at the little 11-year-old girl he had adopted years ago. His little girl had grown a lot, hadn't she? He couldn't help but feel proud of how prepared she was to have the baby.
It seemed like yesterday when she was running with her little braids to his office with dirty hands and proudly showing the ceramic mug she had made for him, it had holes in it and you could barely get anything out of it, but it was perfect because her daughter had made it.
Ekko felt like an idiot, he hadn't believed Jinx when she said how much Silco loved her and how good he was to her, and here he was trying to do everything to make her happy. None of this justified the things Jinx had done but maybe he owed her an apology.
Adult Vi didn't know what to think, she tried to convince herself that Jinx was being manipulated by Silco but with everything she saw she didn't know what to say or do. She could never forgive Silco, he ruined her life but he was Jinx/Powder's father...
"I'll get you the fabric," Silco said, handing the page back to her.
Jinx squealed in delight and tugged at his suit gently. "I want purple, pink, blue, green, black, orange too, oh red!"
Silco would get her fabrics in all colors if possible.
"Why does she need so many colors?" Mylo asked, relaxing, seeing that it wouldn't be a bad scene like the others.
One month later
"Will they show us each month of the pregnancy?" Claggor asked.
"Apparently." The curious teenage Vi replied, she wanted to see her niece or nephew.
Jinx was at her desk with her welding goggles on, appearing to be making a mobile for the baby's crib. When she finished she took off her welding goggles and stepped back a little, her belly was now more visible but still small, she took the mobile and turned it on.
The mobile was small firelights made of metal and glass in pink, blue, purple and green that spun to soft music.
"Ow it's beautiful." Caitlyn said with a small smile. "I had one like that but I had butterflies."
"Powder had one too, with animals I think," Adult Vi replied, touched by the effort Jinx was putting into everything related to the baby.
Firelights eh? Ekko thought with a smile. She tried to add him to their baby's life somehow.
"They're going to love it," Jinx smiled softly, she placed the mobile gently on the desk, later she would take it to her room where she would start building the crib.
"it's horrible" A voice whispered behind her.
Those present, who had been relaxed until now, tensed up.
Jinx's body tensed as she clenched her fists tightly. "It's beautiful."
"Yes, it's beautiful." Powder whispered, squeezing her hands.
"Lie, you know it's a lie," the voice whispered again.
"Who is saying these things to her?" the teenage Vi asked angrily.
Jinx gritted her teeth together, "My baby will love it, I know it."
"Of course our baby will love that," Ekko whispered.
"You're going to kill them." A faceless figure whispered in her ear causing Jinx to stumble away.
"Who the fuck is saying these things?" Adult Vi asked even more angrily. Her little sister was pregnant and didn't need this shit.
"Enough!" Jinx shouted, pulling out her gun and pointing it at the figure who now had a face and was a twisted version of Mylo.
"What?" Mylo asked, disturbed by how he looked in the projection. "W-why?"
Powder stared at the projection not knowing how to react, her hallucinations with Mylo had apparently never stopped, he would always be tormenting her.
"You know it's true, little sister," the twisted Mylo said.
Jinx fired, causing the bullet to go through the figure's head and into the wall. "Leave me alone!"
Mylo was startled and his heart raced in fear, his little sister had really shot him in the head, she was hallucinating but still... What the fuck?
Did Jinx really see him in this twisted way, so... evil? What had he done to her to make her like this?
He knew that sometimes he could go too far with Powder but it wasn't that bad, they were just games and she was a crybaby, she didn't really understand.
"The truth hurts you." The twisted Mylo whispered in her ear, now joined by an equally twisted Vi.
Adult Vi was startled, her heart aching. She now understood why Jinx had asked if she was real... Vi was part of her little sister's hallucinations, and not in a good way.
Jinx fell to the ground on all fours and curled up, protecting her belly. "Please stop."
Ekko felt helpless, he wanted to help her, hug her and tell her that everything was going to be okay, he wanted to be there for her but he could only sit here and watch the love of his life suffer.
White and colored flashes in the shape of people surrounded her, darkening the room. All their voices mixed together. They looked like lions on their prey.
Vander knew that Powder suffered from something similar but he never thought it was so serious, maybe that was why Powder hadn't told him anything. He promised himself that he would talk to Powder and find a solution.
Jinx cried and screamed covering her belly, "Leave me alone!"
The sound of the music on the mobile drowned out the voices, the flashes soon disappeared. Jinx laid down on the floor, sighing in relief.
A collective sigh echoed through the room as Jinx's attack ended.
"I hope you're ready for this madness." Jinx said, caressing her belly. Without realizing it, she fell asleep, the attack had exhausted her.
"Her back is going to hurt," Caitlyn muttered with a grimace.
Loud footsteps woke her up, she didn't get up from the ground she just waited.
"What are you doing lying there?" Sevika asked, pointing at her.
"Ugh, why do we have to see this woman?" Adult Vi asked, crossing her arms.
The blue-haired girl growled, not wanting to talk to her, and got up from the ground without looking at her.
Sevika ruffled her hair and sighed before saying, "Look, neither of us like each other but I have to keep an eye on you so make this easy."
Jinx looked at her for a moment in distaste. "But what if I get your ogre scent?"
The children laughed at that, Jinx was very funny sometimes.
"Then I hope I don't catch your madness," Sevika said, crossing her arms.
"Bitch." The adult Vi insulted her with a frown.
The teenager narrowed her eyes seriously considering shooting her but had to remind herself that she couldn't although the good thing was that she could take advantage of Sevika.
"Since you're here, you might as well be of some use," Jinx said petulantly, pointing at some large pieces of metal off to the side. "Take those to my room."
Sevika raised an eyebrow. "Can't you do it yourself?"
Jinx looked at her like she was stupid. "I know you don't use your head often, lefty, but I'm pregnant and the doctor said not to strain myself."
"Well, that's true," Caitlyn said with a shrug.
Sevika looked at her annoyed, grunting she uncrossed her arms and walked over to the pieces of metal, picked them up and started her way to Jinx's room.
"I honestly didn't think Jinx even had a bed," Ekko commented, looking curiously at Jinx's room in the projection.
"Why?" the teenage Vi asked.
"She always looks like she hasn't slept, I don't know," Ekko shrugged.
Jinx walked behind her to make sure Sevika put everything where she wanted it.
"Not there," Jinx said, watching Sevika set down the pieces of metal.
"Not there either."
"No."
"I don't like it there, move it."
The entire room burst into laughter as Jinx teased Sevika.
Sevika threw everything on the floor and before Jinx could say anything she said angrily, "If you tell me to move it again I'll throw them on you."
Jinx looked at her amused with an evil smile. "You're so bitter, it was just a little joke."
"Yes Sevika, it was just a little joke." Adult Vi laughed, she was really enjoying watching Jinx tease Sevika.
Sevika sat on the floor, breathing slightly labored. "The little joke will come when I hit you on the head, that will be an amazing joke."
Jinx laid down on her bed nonchalantly. "Yeah, sure."
"Sevika isn't going to hurt her right?" Powder asked a little worried.
Ekko shook his head. "They may not get along, but Sevika would never touch a hair on Jinx's head."
Powder sighed in relief, she really liked her counterpart, she hoped to meet her or become even a little like she was, so powerful, so sure of herself, so pretty even.
She closed her eyes as her hands caressed her small belly, even though nothing had happened her body felt tense.
"You know that Silco is looking for the child's father, right?" Sevika said still sitting on the floor causing Jinx to sit on the bed quickly.
Ekko opened his eyes in surprise, she hadn't told him that he was the father? She hadn't told anyone? And Silco had apparently looked for him... And he never knew anything about it.
"What? Why?"
"I told him it's a waste of time, but he believes it's necessary for the father to take care of the child as well."
Jinx growled as she stood up from the bed, ruffling her hair before looking at the older woman. "I told him not to get involved in this"
Ekko felt a pain in his chest, Jinx really hated him right? Why hadn't she told him about the baby? He wouldn't have rejected her, god, he would have even gone with her if it was necessary to see his baby.
"He knows that you know who the father is and he also knows that you won't tell him."
"He doesn't need to know." Jinx said angrily, stomping her foot and leaving the room muttering insults. She reached her desk where she picked up her toolbox and returned to the room.
"Damn nosy parents, doesn't he have anything better to do?" Jinx muttered, slamming the toolbox down hard on the floor. "You!"
"Why doesn't she want Silco to know that you're the father?" the teenage Vi asked confused.
"Maybe because he was going to kill me?" Ekko replied sarcastically.
"He said he wanted you to take responsibility for the baby," Mylo said.
Ekko looked at him like he was stupid. "And you really think that would have happened?"
He knew that if Silco had found out he would have broken his bones AT LEAST.
The blue-haired girl pointed at Sevika who just looked at her bored.
"Help me with this." Jinx ordered, pointing at the pieces of metal. Sevika sighed in resignation and got up from the ground to do what the teenager had ordered.
"What are you going to do with this anyway?"
Jinx pulled out a small saw and turned it on, still angry. "I'm going to build the crib."
"I'm not going to repeat it but Jinx scares me a little bit like that," Mylo commented.
Sevika looked at her, not wanting to get too close to an angry Jinx, that was always dangerous.
"She understands," Mylo pointed out.
Silco arrived at Jinx's place with a bag full of freshly made food, left it on the teenager's desk and headed towards her room. Jinx was asleep in a star position with the blankets falling to the floor, the structure of the crib was already built but it still needed a lot of things, but there would be time to get everything, there were still 6 months left until the baby arrived.
"The crib turned out really nice," Vander said with a smile.
Ekko smiled as he looked at the crib where his son or daughter would sleep, if he closed his eyes he could almost imagine it.
"Jinx." The man called out to her softly, shaking her shoulder.
The blue-haired girl tossed and turned in bed, groaning sleepily. "What do you want?"
Silco smiled warmly. "I brought you lunch, come on up."
Jinx lazily threw off the covers, not wanting to get out of bed but she was hungry. She adjusted the large shirt she wore as pajamas and walked out with her dad to her desk.
"Even if you grow up, you'll never be a morning person, right?" The teenage Vi laughed softly, ruffling Powder's hair.
Powder groaned and pushed her sister's hand away from her hair.
"You and I are going to have a very very very VERY serious talk," Jinx told him, taking her food and without wasting any time, she began to eat.
Silco raised an eyebrow at his words. "And what is this very, very serious talk about?"
"You're looking for the baby's daddy when I told you not to." Jinx said with food in her mouth.
Silco looked at her for a moment as he swallowed his food. "The baby's father should take care of it, it's his responsibility too."
"Dah, I know but I don't want to." Jinx said, looking at him seriously. "It's... complicated but I want to do this alone."
"But I had the right to know." Ekko whispered.
"But you shouldn't."
"Well, that's how I want it," Jinx said, stirring her food a bit. "I don't want him involved in this."
"Why not?" Silco asked, putting his food aside to give his daughter his full attention.
Jinx copied his actions and put down her food as well.
"It was a one-time thing and he doesn't like me anyway," she said, looking down.
Ekko shook his head, that wasn't true but he didn't find it strange that Jinx thought that, he wondered what would have happened if he hadn't ruined that morning.
Silco looked at his daughter who now had sad eyes, it broke his heart that she was like that and he didn't know how to fix it.
"I'm not going to tie him to me like this," Jinx said in barely a whisper.
"What?" Ekko whispered with a broken heart, he felt very helpless and wanted to cry.
The man didn't answer, he just looked at her and went back to eating. He wasn't going to look for the baby's father anymore.
One month later
"How many months is it?" Claggor asked.
"I think 4?" the adult Vi said doubtfully.
"It took you 4 fucking months but there you are." Jinx said looking at her belly in the mirror with a smile, her belly had grown quite a bit. "You're growing so well, my love."
"Oh, her belly grew a lot." The teenage Vi said in surprise. "Is that normal?"
Vander laughed at how surprised his daughter was, "Yeah, that's normal, your mom was the same."
Jinx smiled adoringly as her arms gently hugged her belly.
Even with pain in his heart Ekko couldn't help but smile in adoration as he saw how much Jinx already loved their baby.
This pregnancy thing was going to be so much fun, she had slept the most she had in 16 years and was eating way too much. Silco would get her food from Piltover, as much as she wanted, and she was very happy with that. Before she barely ate, but now all she could think about was that.
And speaking of food, she was very hungry now.
"Felicia always had the weirdest cravings," Benzo said with a laugh.
Vander nodded with a laugh. "Maybe Jinx is like her mom."
Sevika had installed a fridge for her, Jinx had insisted it was unnecessary but she was glad the ogre hadn't listened to her because she loved that thing now.
"Jinx lives like a rich woman practically," Mylo said.
Caitlyn, a truly rich woman, couldn't help but think that they were just basic comforts, nothing luxurious.
Jinx walked over to the fridge with her hair down, wearing a purple crop top and black panties. She opened the fridge and took out the fish she had eaten yesterday and the ice cream.
Most of them made a face of disgust.
"She's not going to eat that, right?" little Ekko asked with disgust.
"I think she will," Vander replied amused. Jinx/Powder always looked more like her mom, Vi was more like her dad.
"You really have much weirder tastes than I do, little flea." Jinx said, eating a piece of fish with ice cream, it was delicious.
"How disgusting!" said little Ekko, sticking out his tongue.
"There's no way in the world that's delicious," Caitlyn said, grimacing at the projection.
"There's a lot to do today, baby." She said as she finished the fish and ice cream, threw everything in the trash and walked to her desk.
"Today I will start making your clothes, you will be the best dressed baby in all of Zaun."
"But can't she buy clothes?" Caitlyn asked curiously. "Instead of making them."
Adult Vi sighed as she put an arm around Caitlyn. "Cupcake, it's kind of a tradition in Zaun to make your children their first clothes, but I think Jinx will make their entire wardrobe."
Jinx pulled out the sewing machine she had repaired yesterday and all the fabric Silco had brought her from Piltover.
"I know it seems like a lot, baby, but one thing you have to learn is that there is never too much." She said, gently poking her belly.
By the end of the day she had piles of clothes ready for the baby, from hats to mittens, she even made them costumes.
"That... That's too much clothing for a baby." Ekko said, a little amused at the large amount of clothing Jinx had made.
"The only thing that worries me is that babies grow fast, most of that won't fit in." Vander said.
"I think you're in for a long time now, huh?" Jinx said with a proud smile. "Everything will look beautiful on you, you'll see."
She took the piles of clothes and carried them to her room where she had made a closet, she had one of her own but she figured the baby needed his own too. She put everything in there without folding the clothes, she just threw them in there.
"She needs to start cleaning up that room." Teenage Vi said, Powder was always messy, orderly chaos most of the time.
Jinx turned and looked at the crib for a moment, it now had a mattress, blankets, and stuffed animals that she had made herself.
"Now it looks ready for a baby to sleep in there," Caitlyn said, smiling.
"You'll sleep here next to your mommy." Jinx said turning on the baby mobile, "I can't wait to have you here."
And Ekko couldn't wait to meet his child.
She had never considered herself the most maternal woman in the world, she never thought she would have children no matter if she wanted them, but here she was, pregnant and she loved it.
One month later
"5 fucking months and I already jinxed it." Jinx said lying on her bed, Silco watching her worriedly.
All the happiness in the room evaporated at the sight of Jinx's anguished face.
"You didn't do that, the doctor said it was just a scare and you should rest."
Jinx rolled her eyes, which were red because she had been crying, the scare had affected her greatly.
She had woken up with a little blood between her legs and she panicked. Silco and Sevika, who had just arrived with food, heard her scream and ran to her. They found her crying loudly, begging all the gods not to take her baby away from her. Sevika went to look for the doctor while Silco stayed to try to calm her down.
Needless to say, he couldn't. She didn't calm down until the doctor told her the baby was fine.
Ekko sighed in relief, their baby was fine.
"This happens to many pregnant people in Piltover," Caitlyn said. "It happened to my mom, she said it scared the shit out of her."
"I'm not moving from this bed, and my back already hurts," Jinx said, feeling her body exhausted. The day had just begun and she already wanted to sleep again.
"Yeah, the doctor said that was normal," Silco said, sitting next to Jinx.
"No shit, I have a ball here." Jinx said with a small smile looking at her belly.
"The baby is growing very well," Vander whispered with warmth in his chest, his grandson or granddaughter was healthy at least.
"Have you thought of a name yet?" Silco asked, gently stroking Jinx's belly.
The blue-haired girl shook her head, that was a lie.
She did have two names in mind, one for a girl and one for a boy. But she didn't want to tell anyone, until the baby was out of her, no one would know.
"What do you think their names are?" Claggor asked curiously.
"You know, Pow?" the teenage Vi asked.
"I think so." Powder replied, there were always two names she had wanted to give her children but she didn't know if Jinx had changed that.
"When the time comes, I'll think of something," she said with a smile.
"Okay, but it's better to be prepared." Silco said with a small smile.
Jinx nodded before closing her eyes for a moment, then she felt it, frowned and waited to see if she felt it again and there it was... Her baby...
"What...?" Adult Vi whispered in confusion.
She opened her eyes and took Silco's hand to place it on the side of her belly and... There it was. "Did you feel it?"
Ekko felt his eyes fill with tears, his baby had moved. This was really happening, he was a father, he just wished he had found out under better circumstances.
Silco opened his eyes in surprise, an involuntary laugh burst out of him and without realizing it his eyes filled with tears. "Yes, I can feel it."
He remembered being in this exact position with Felicia, feeling Jinx move in her belly before anyone else. And now he was here with Jinx feeling her baby move. Life is very strange sometimes.
Vander wiped the tears from his eyes, a part of him was glad that Silco hadn't forgotten about Felicia like she did with him.
The adult Vi's grey eyes filled with tears, she wished she could be there with her sister, feeling her baby move, she had missed so much...
"The baby gave us quite a scare today but I think they're apologizing." Jinx said with a big smile feeling the baby move happily inside her.
"I think so." Silco said, looking lovingly at Jinx who was talking to her belly.
Vander saw his brother, not the big criminal leader, his brother Silco the man who was there for him and Felicia, who fell in love with Felicia and still helped her make Connol fall in love with her. Silco his brother who always loved that baby with blue curls, who was the godfather of that baby... What had happened? Was there some kind of redemption for him?
One month later
"6 months right?" Mylo asked a little lost.
"Yeah, idiot." The teenage Vi gently slapped his head.
"You're all going to get your asses kicked," Jinx said, pointing at the Claggor stuffed animal and the Mylo doll. "You've been very naughty, and that's not allowed in this house anymore."
"She's crazy crazy." Mylo said looking at the very realistic doll of him.
"Don't call her that, you moron," said the adult Vi.
"But she's talking to inanimate objects and you're going to tell me she's not a little bit out of her mind?" Mylo asked, not realizing how much his words affected Powder.
"Shut up," Ekko said in a firm voice.
Jinx remained silent, listening attentively to the responses of the stuffed animal and the doll.
"That's no excuse, Claggor." She yelled, glaring angrily at the stuffed animal. "You're both grounded, back to the box."
Jinx grabbed Claggor the stuffed animal and Mylo the doll and put them in a wooden box with bars that resembled a prison. "You'll stay there until you learn your lesson."
Mylo pointed at the projection wanting to prove his point but didn't say anything because he felt the hard gaze of the adult Ekko on him.
Powder felt empathy for Jinx, she heard her bombs sometimes but could never talk back to them because she knew they would act like idiots.
The blue-haired girl sighed, putting her hands on her hips as she looked at the box with disappointment.
"No wonder Ekko doesn't like you." A distorted voice said behind Jinx causing her to freeze in place.
Ekko suddenly felt angry, he couldn't save Jinx from his own head and that made him feel very bad.
"Does this happen to her often?" Caitlyn asked quietly. There was a mental hospital in Piltover and plenty of doctors, and Jinx needed one urgently.
Jinx gulped as Claggor and Mylo started laughing. She took a deep breath and turned around, there stood a twisted version of Vi.
"I'll never get used to seeing myself like this," murmured the teenage Vi.
"You're crazy." Said the pink-haired girl with white flashes around her. "You'll ruin the baby, like you always do."
"No, that's not true," adult Vi whispered.
Jinx tried to ignore her, her hands were shaking and her eyes filled with tears, she walked to her desk where she had finished a stuffed animal for the baby, she took the stuffed bunny and hugged it.
Ekko's heart ached as he watched Jinx seek comfort in their baby's stuffed animal.
"No matter how much you try to ignore me, you know it's true," the twisted Vi said in her ear. "You'll ruin his life, just like you ruined mine, Powder."
A gasp escaped Jinx's lips. Powder. Powder again and again. Fuck Powder.
Powder was startled upon hearing that, Jinx hated her name but why?
"It's Jinx." She said through clenched teeth, taking out her gun and pointing it at the twisted Vi who was smiling. "Powder is dead just like you."
"What?" Powder whispered feeling lost, Jinx hated her and she couldn't understand that.
And she fired, the bullet made the twisted Vi disappear. Jinx sighed in relief and stroked her belly, she looked at the stuffed bunny for a moment and took it with her to her room.
One month later
"Looks like I ate a watermelon, don't you think?" Jinx asked her dad as she looked at her 7-month-old belly.
"Janna, she's huge," Mylo said in surprise. "That can't be normal."
"You never know when to shut up do you?" Teenage Vi asked sarcastically hitting him again.
"It's normal and they still need to grow more, it seems like they will be a big baby, which is good," Vander said.
"Isn't it going to explode or something?" little Ekko asked naively.
The adult Ekko laughed loudly. "No, her skin will just stretch and when she has the baby she will return to her normal shape."
Little Ekko looked at him in surprise and looked at all the women in the room. "You can all do that?"
All the women nodded.
"I think you look pretty," Silco replied, folding the baby's clothes. He had come early to tidy up the mess in the baby's closet.
"I never thought the day would come when we'd see Silco doing housework for the first time, right Vander?" Benzo said, laughing.
Vander laughed, watching his brother amused at the screening. "He always hated doing housework, he always knew how to avoid it, the bastard."
"I knew that, thanks." Jinx replied with a smile, she hadn't been helping with folding clothes at all.
Ekko let out a small laugh, but it was true, she did look beautiful.
Jinx's room had expanded further when they broke the wall of another room to join it, according to the blue-haired girl they needed a lot of space.
Now there was room for lots of toys, lots of more clothes, and maybe in the future to add a bed for when the baby grew up.
"Jinx's room is the size of the entire bar." Claggor said, surprised by the amount of space Jinx had.
"I don't think she needs that much for a child," Caitlyn said.
"There is never too much space for a child, since they can't go outside, they can play inside and run all over the room." Ekko said as he imagined his child running around the tree, enjoying the sunshine and playing with other children.
"My breasts are bigger too, almost like yours Sevika." Jinx told Sevika who was helping Silco fold clothes.
Most blushed and looked away uncomfortably but Ekko couldn't help but look and notice the big difference.
The older woman looked at her blankly. "Yes, because you have milk."
"That sounds... Gross." Jinx grimaced. "I thought I wouldn't be able to feed the baby because of, well, you know, malnutrition and all that nonsense but here we are."
"That's what happened to Felicia, she couldn't feed either of you, she only used formula," Vander said to his daughters.
That was also the case for many people who breastfed in his community, Ekko thought.
"You've been eating very well these past few months, it's good that you can do so," Silco replied without looking up from his task.
"My lemons are now melons, how cute." Jinx looked pleased at her breasts.
"We don't need to know that," Mylo muttered, looking away. He didn't want to see his little sister like that, he already had enough with what they saw before.
Her mind couldn't help but wander to the night with Ekko. She blushed slightly, ugh.
Ekko felt the heat gush from his body, Janna was really testing him and he didn't think he would survive it...
She just had to ignore that idiot, who kept popping up in her head every now and then. A misfortune and a blessing.
"the worst of blessings," Ekko whispered.
"Why did you make so many clothes?" Sevika asked as she continued folding clothes.
Angry Jinx turned to look at her, she could no longer move as fast as before and that bothered her.
"The baby needs a lot of clothes, stupid."
"I know, but babies grow fast so most of this won't fit when they tries to use it," Sevika said, frowning.
Jinx looked at her for a moment, she hadn't thought about that. Shit.
Those present laughed at that.
"I said so," Vander said, laughing.
"The clothes can be fixed so there's no problem." Ekko said with a smile.
"If that happens, I'll fix the clothes and that's it." She hesitated, crossing her arms.
"You hadn't thought about that, right?" Silco asked, knowing his daughter.
Jinx snorted angrily, why did her dad have to know her so well?
Sevika smiled at her with a sly look making Jinx narrow her eyes angrily.
"She looks very funny when she's angry." Little Ekko laughed.
"That's true." Powder laughed too.
"I'm going to the bathroom, I don't want to see you two anymore." Jinx said as she left the room. She was now walking like a duck, she couldn't bring her legs together anymore and her back hurt a lot. And one thing she hated most about pregnancy was her peanut-sized bladder, she had to go to the bathroom all the time and she hated it.
Ekko couldn't help but laugh a little as he watched Jinx walk, she looked so cute.
"She really is a duck," the adult Vi laughed.
"I can't wait for you to be here so I don't have to deal with those two alone anymore." Jinx said to her belly, feeling the baby move.
One month later
"Just a month away," said the teenage Vi, eager to meet the baby.
"What the fuck is that?" Jinx asked as she watched her dad's workers bring a piece of furniture into her room.
"Nice way to ask," Mylo said with a laugh.
"It's a changing table for the baby." Silco said sitting on her bed watching his workers work.
"A what?"
Jinx looked at him confused, why did she need that thing?
"What is that?" Powder asked little Ekko who shook his head, neither of them knew.
"It's a changing table for babies, you can change their diapers there and you can also store them there, so it will be easier," said Silco before ordering his workers to assemble the furniture.
"Why is that needed? Couldn't you just change diapers anywhere?" Powder asked confused.
"Yes, but it's easier and more comfortable to do it in one of them, in fact I think it's a Piltover piece of furniture," Caitlyn replied.
"This man... Is he really rich or what?" Mylo said, surprised by the amount of money Silco had surely spent on that piece of furniture.
Jinx sat on her bed with her hair disheveled as she watched the furniture being assembled. She didn't like the thought of changing diapers but she had to do it, her precious baby shouldn't be dirty. There was just one small problem.
"But I don't know how to do that." Jinx said with a pout looking at the now assembled piece of furniture.
"I know that, so when the time comes I'll teach you," Silco said, smoothing her hair a little. "I changed your diapers when you were a baby."
"Really?" Powder asked Vander with shining eyes. She really liked Silco, she didn't care if he was bad, he treated her very well.
Vander nodded. "He always took care of you."
Powder smiled softly, she wanted so badly to meet Silco.
Jinx looked at him lovingly, she knew he had been her mother's best friend, he had known her since before she was born and now they were here, father and daughter. Maybe they were always meant to be family.
"Maybe," Vander whispered with a sigh. Maybe they were always meant to end up like this, Vander dead and Silco taking his place.
"I changed your diapers, I carried you many times because for some reason you wouldn't cry with me." Silco said with a soft laugh.
Jinx laughed softly with her eyes filling with tears, her emotions were at 100 lately and she was crying for everything.
"I was there when you took your first steps, so small and clumsy with your little blue curls." Silco stroked her hair with one hand while wiping away a tear with the other. "And now you are such a strong woman, that makes me proud every day."
Powder's eyes filled with tears, she always wanted to hear that someone was proud of her and there was this man, unknown to her, saying those words.
Jinx's lips trembled and she couldn't hold back her tears any longer, she hugged her dad with a little difficulty because of her belly.
"I don't want you to forget that, you make me a very proud father," Silco said, gently rocking his pregnant daughter.
"Vander... He'd be so proud of you too," Silco whispered, placing a kiss on her blue hair. Jinx hugged her dad tighter, she could only hope those words were true.
"Yes, I am," Vander whispered, wiping the tears from his eyes.
