Vi stepped on the breaks as a police car blocked the exit in front of her, the familiar ringing of siren stopped as soon as someone from the driver’s seat stepped out and she patiently drummed her fingers on her door handle until a finger tapped against the glass
Vi smiled as she rolled down the window and greeted the officer “Sorry, I couldn’t control the pedals, they’re really sensitive” She added a laugh on the last part to make it convincing and handed over her driver’s license and some documents
The officer slightly took a step back, took out a pad of speeding tickets, and started jotting down something, Vi took her time to appreciate the view and check out the details “2nd time this week huh Miss” She took a look at the license ID “Lanes” She handed over a copy of the ticket, and passed Vi a pen “Fast car, I assume”
Vi grips her wheel as she takes note of the prominent cheekbones and the bluest eyes she's ever seen “Yeah, it’s also very gas efficient”
“Really?”
“Yeah, if I were to ride it all night it could last until morning”
The officer raised her brow amusingly “Be careful out there, Miss” She cautiously arranged Vi’s documents and handed them back to her “I believe you’ve already read the instructions on your ticket?”
“It’s kind of long but, yeah” Vi said boldly, the 3rd time she’s been very bold. The officer only chuckled breathlessly “Have a good day Miss Lanes” and proceeded to walk to her car
“You too, officer” Vi said as she watched her go “You too”

“You need to get those pedals checked Miss Lanes, we can’t have these piling up in the courtroom" said the officer who probably already memorized all of her information and was now seamlessly filling out her ticket, in anyone’s books, a cop knowing everything about you isn’t good, but in Vi’s books, she doesn’t read
Caitlyn eyed her, tore up her ticket, and handed it to her as Vi signed with her own pen
“I pay every time I get one of these it’s fine” Vi fitted the tickets on the corner top of the dashboard along with the other tickets she’s gotten over the past few weeks
“It says here on your record, that you’ve never been caught speeding before August 22nd of this year” The 1st one was an accident, Vi wasn’t too sure about the rest
“Well I don’t, my sister usually sits in the front seat”
“Right” The officer contorted her face into what seemed to be a neutral expression, or she was trying for one “Goodbye Miss Lanes”
Vi smiled at her and closed the windows

“I haven’t seen you in a while Miss Lanes” The officer continued with their usual routine
“I went broke trying to pay for all the tickets” Vi admitted shamelessly, no shame, no game, at least that’s what Mylo said, he’s never gotten laid.
“You could’ve gotten your car fixed, I’ve seen the amount, It’s not pretty”
“Not as pretty as you” The officer paused before handing her the ticket and Vi paled at the horrid realization that she might have said it out loud “I meant it’s not as big as your ass” Vi had to mentally slap herself for that one then she visibly cringes
She groaned loudly and slumped her head against the wheel “Just arrest me for drunk driving”
“Are you drunk?”
“No just tired, my sister accidentally drank motor oil. I had to stay up all night with her in the emergency room”
“How did that even happen?” Vi looked at the pen in Caitlyn’s hand and noticed it wasn’t moving
“I’m a mechanic and she’s currently in mechanical engineering” Vi runs her hands around her steering wheel
“She’s doing good in her studies then?” The pen clicked and was now being kept in the back pocket
“Too good I’d say”
“I’ll see you soon then, Miss Lanes” Ticket in hand, Vi didn’t even notice the officer was gone until a horn behind her started blaring and an idiot started screaming for her to get out of the way
She flipped her ticket to the backside and saw a number roughly scribbled on the surface along with a name
“Caitlyn Kiramman” Vi clicked her tongue and laughed exasperatingly
Maybe Mylo was right, even if it was only this once
