Maddie was in the process of making pasta for dinner when you came home. The strong scent of marinara sauce filled your nose. Maddie was focused on making sure the food didn't burn that she didn't notice your teary-eyed figure hovering behind her.
You loved her food, more than her brother (whom you worked with)'s cooking. Buck is an amazing firefighter but that man can not cook for the love of god.
You sniffle softly, wrapping your arms around your girlfriend to hug her from behind. Your head rested on her shoulder. This immediately concerned Maddie, noticing you aren't your usual bubbly self.
How could you be? Everything was getting in your way and you were upset. People walking to slow, everyone bumping into you. Creepy old men staring at you.

Immediately you light up at the suggestion to watch your favorite movie with that silly old bear. "The live action one?" You said getting all excited. Maddie loved seeing you like that, she was happy that she could distract you from your thoughts for a moment. "Mhm, whatever you want babes." Maddie spoke, stirring the pasta.
