Norway X Reader - Sunday Mornings
It has been a week since you had died. Everyone was effected, but Lukas was the most. The night he found you fading in your bathtub kept haunting his dreams and thoughts every moment. He kept thinking about what would have happened if he had just broke into the bathroom first thing. If he had gotten there sooner. If he hadn’t wasted time getting you flowers on the way to your house. What would have happened? Would you still be alive?
He was a total mess. He couldn’t sleep or eat. Everything made him nauseous. He sat around in his room, not doing anything, not moving. Just thinking and helping himself sink farther into his own depression. Nobody could do anything to help Lukas. Nobody but you.
Your funeral had been today. Lukas had attended of course, but he had stayed silent. He didn’t go up to give a eulogy and nobody pressured him to. Everyone that attended knew of the huge crush he had on you. Knew that he loved you with all of his being. Knew how much of a toll this was on him. Knew to give him some room. But he was getting a bit out of hand.
It has been almost a month since your death and he has only gotten worse. He began to drink like Matthias and left his room for the sole purpose of retrieving liquor. He was smelly, gross and nothing like his normal self. He didn’t pester Emil about being his brother anymore, didn’t choke Matthias when he was being stupid. All he did was look at them and walk right back up to his room. His friends were worried about him, but they didn’t know what to do. So they decided to give him an intervention.
They went up to his room a week later after they had planned everything out. When they tried to get into his room, it was locked so Berwald kicked it down. And they were met with the sight of Lukas lying on his bed, not breathing. Tino freaked out and ran to call an ambulance while Berwald tried to get a shocked Emil and Matthias out of the room.
After a while, the paramedics came to their house and took Lukas to the hospital. He got his stomach pumped and they tried everything they could to bring him back. An hour passed and the four males were waiting for a status update. Matthias was the first to see the doctor coming and he shot up and out of his chair. The other three got up slowly, Tino seeing the look in the doctors eye first. The doctor shook his head and time stopped.
Emil started bawling and clung to Matthias who was struck with shock. Tino and Berwald hugged each other and Matthias clung back to Emil and started to cry. The doctor and nurses looked on with sad eyes, seeing this was unfortunately a common event. All four males were crying, Matthias and Emil clinging to each other on the floor. When they settled down, the doctor led them to Lukas’ room to see him before they sent him away. Emil immediately flung himself at his older brother, repeatedly saying sorry for all the things he did to upset Lukas. They all said their respective apologies and soon had to leave the room. Emil had cried himself to sleep so Matthias was carrying him to the car.
As this was all happening, Lukas watched from above. He had no idea where he was, but he knew how he got there and was hoping that he would get to see you. Soon, he was moving really fast but it wasn’t him that was moving. He was watching his memories go by. It started with his birth and ended with that last swig of the bottle. He saw every moment he had held precious. Every moment he had with you. He smiled at those.
After that was all done, he noticed that he wasn’t in the hospital parking lot anymore. He was in a lush, green field. And he wasn’t alone. Oh no. He saw the only thing he had wanted to see for a month. You.
There you were, all dressed up in a nice light blue dress in front of a two-story cabin. You had on a sad smile, happy to see him, but not happy that it was because of him killing himself. You held out your arms and he came barreling into them, not a care in the world because he could finally hold you again. When you raised your head and looked at Lukas, he looked back at you and you could see a conflict going on in his head. Before you could question it, he kissed you.
You were shocked at first but soon melted into the kiss. After the kiss ended, you led him by the hand into the cabin. You showed him around and he noticed that there were exactly six rooms. He deduced that it was for his friends and brother when they died and came here. But for now it was only him and you. And you could be together at last.
