Primrose
Normal, immutable days. That’s what Mizuki always wished for. And yet, she was not satisfied. There was a part of her coming to the surface lately, a part of her that she deeply despised, but could not control.
“Enanan, about your new illustration…” Kanade started talking. “I like it, it conveys the kind of feeling i was thinking of”
“I agree. It’s nice” Mafuyu continued in her usual emotionless voice. Ena was used to it at this point so she didn’t bother getting angry at her. However, there was one thing that bothered her.
“Mizuki, is something wrong?” Hearing her girlfriend’s voice was enough to bring her mind back down to earth.
“What? Why do you ask?”
“Amia, you’ve been spacing out for a while now” Kanade’s voice was clearly worried and for good reason. Mizuki being quiet was one thing, but spacing out enough to make her ignore Ena’s illustrations is something completely different.
“You two need to talk…It’s been too common and is getting bothersome.” Ruthless as usual. Though, Mafuyu was right that Mizuki needed to talk about her issues, but she didn’t want to tell Ena. She just couldn’t, but before she had time to come up with one of her usual excuses, Ena quickly made her move.
“Then Amia, let’s meet up at the usual place, we can go on a date and talk things out during dinner, how does that sound?” Putting her on the spot by making plans in front of the others was a surefire way Ena discovered to invite Mizuki out. Since this pink haired girlfriend of hers was always quick to avoid answering out of nervousness, she used this trick to force an answer out of her.
Mizuki sighs. “Sure, i guess it is true that we should talk…ok, that’s fine by me” Strange. She wasn’t being her usual self. Normally, Mizuki would be ecstatic to go on a date with Ena, but this time, she sounded slightly scared.
The following day, Ena was waiting at the appointed time.
“Maybe I arrived too early? But isn’t Mizuki usually the one who does that?” While waiting, Ena reviewed her plans for this date.
“Enanan~” Mizuki quickly clung to Ena, catching her by surprise. “I’m here, let’s begin our date already” Ena just smiled. At least she was being cheerful.
“Ok, let’s get going silly” Ena giggled and just grabbed Mizuki’s hand and began to lead the way. She could feel her girlfriend’s hand shaking, but she hoped shopping together would calm her down. “Maybe we could buy matching something”. Silence. No teasing or comment or anything? This was getting scary.
After a few hours of shopping, karaoke and walking around, the couple arrived at the restaurant that Ena had planned. So far, things had been going well, but the actual challenge was just about to come.
“So, why have you been so distant lately?” Ena proceeded to ask after ordering some food. “It’s been worrying me. You know you can tell me, i promise i won’t be mad or anything”
“Are you serious? You won’t get mad?”
“Of course I won't. I told you that you don’t need to be afraid around us, remember?”
“Okay” Mizuki takes a deep breath before telling Ena about what was troubling her. “I know this is just me being toxic and possessive, but i don’t like it when you smile around other girls. Knowing other girls get to see you smile just how you smile at me makes me jealous to no end. Before, i could keep these emotions in check, but it has gotten to a point where i don’t even like you feeling so happy when you are praised by Kanade or feeling relief when assured by Mafuyu. I hate that side of myself, but i can’t help it! I want you to look only at me” Mizuki was feeling rather ashamed, but Ena’s reaction was nothing like what she expected. She was blushing heavily but there was no sign of disgust or anything of the sort, instead, she heard the most surprising reaction she could have imagined.
“How can you be so cute? Do you even realize what you just said?” Ena suddenly stood up and walk to be next to Mizuki, she then hugged Mizuki and held her close. “Sure, many will say that kind of attitude is a red flag on a girlfriend, but to have a girlfriend who loves me that much just makes me want you even more” She then approaches her ear and whispers “Should we spend the night together?” Making Mizuki embarrassed but she didn’t refuse. And so, the two of them walked together to Ena’s house.
“I’m home”
“Ena, welcome back…wait,Akiyama!?”
“Evening, lil’ bro”
And so, Akito’s nightmare begins. Meanwhile, the pair of lovers heads to Ena’s room to spend some quality time together, much to Akito’s disgust.
Later, at 25, Ena leaves Mizuki sleeping after having their fun and she connects to Nightcord.
“Ah! Enanan, we were just talking about you” Kanade says in a welcoming tone.
“Yes, we were thinking about how your date with Mizuki went. You connected alone this time?” Mafuyu continued.
“About that…” As Ena starts speaking, a voice can be heard in the background.
“Ah! Ena connected and didn’t tell me!”
“Amia, wel…come? Wait, it doesn’t say that you are connected” Kanade sounded rather confused, and for good reason, Amia wasn’t connected but she was in the call? Then Mafuyu decided to speak up.
“She is probably with Enanan”
“Ding dong! That’s correct! As expected of Yuki” Mizuki was back to her cheerful self, but something else caught Mafuyu and Kanade by surprise.
“Mizuki, just shut up and put on some clothes already!”
“Eh!?” Kanade and Mafuyu said in unison.
Meanwhile, in Empty SEKAI.
“Those two are quite honest, aren’t they?” Luka said to MEIKO “If only someone else could be as honest as them”
“I don’t know what you are implying, but if you just called me to gossip about those two then i’m leaving” Luka just sighs upon hearing MEIKO’s words.
“Guess i should be more direct next time…”
