Chapter 19
he found her in the garden in the pavilion
“Go away,” she told him
“It must be difficult but it is for the best,” Alastor says
“What do you know you’re a sinner” she sniffed he walked over and sat down
“I’d like to tell you a story, “ he says in an unfiltered voice
she looks at him
“Please tell me it’s not some sappy life lesson” she groans
“Just watch and listen dear,” Alastor says the shadows take form
once there was a woman who fell in love with a man above her station and a man who was in Love or in Lust with the thrill of what was forbidden but mistook it for love I don’t know, they married and soon after they were with child a son
(The silhouette of a child appeared)
for a time they were happy but soon the whispers must have gotten to the man and his thrill turned to resentment and on the boy's fifth birthday the man changed in the child's eyes he became a different person he yelled and said cruel words he would scream at the child at his wife the boy got a job at only ten hoping if he was useful his father would go back to the father he knew
(the child's shadow departs to a store)
not knowing it was far too late (the man slapped the woman) the demon teen flinched
he learned much from the people who employed him they became a second family and he saw what a loving couple looked like and what should be done to trash
while he was gone the abuse got worse and his mother hid it
(the child became taller )
one day the boy came home to his father beating his mother both half dressed her clothes ripped bruises old and new adorned her flesh
(the man's form shifted it became a beast)
the boy no longer saw the Father he once cared for he saw a monster trash so he made a choice
(a knife appeared in the boy's hand)
and he killed the monster (the boy stabbed it)
(the shadows excepted the boy disappeared)
the boy closed his heart though he had seen his second family's love good and true he was afraid that monster shared his blood he refused to love and become like him even the thought of sex disturbed him so a different kind of monster
(a large enrich monster appeared and took the boy's hand and disappeared )
the boy became one that killed ones like the one who was once his father to feed the monster he made a contract with and the one in his blood
(the last shadow disappeared)
“Your and his stories are not alike but how he wished they had just split up so that he had not had to make that choice to kill the father he once loved you were hopefully saved that choice dear though they hate each other they care for you,” Alastor says cupping her face using his thumb to wipe away her tears
“Do you regret it?” she asks
“No but I regret having to make that choice though your parents are apart you have both dear and I can tell at a glance just how much your father Treasures you, “ he says his smile softened
She smiles he removes his hands from her face “That was pretty cool the shadow thing how did you do that” Octavia asks
“Shadow Voodoo I learned from my second mother she and my second father are down here my birth mother is up in heaven, “ he says
“And your da the monster” she asks
“Down here or killed by Exorcist I don’t rightly know I haven’t bothered to look for him as far as I am concerned I have one father and his name is Lin, “ Alastor says
“But I saw you kiss him Adam don’t you love him?” she asks
“I - I have feelings I’d like to know what it’s like before- but I can’t say for sure it’s Love but I like it being wanted and needed by someone as broken as me if not more so” She looks at him “it’s Hell dear we are all broken in some way “ He says “we just look for ways to fill the gaps and cracks”
she thinks about it “You’re right thanks for talking to me” Octavia says
“Not a problem dear and remember if your parents find someone new it doesn’t mean they love you any less,” Alastor says she hugs him he hugs her back not that he would know both his Respective Mothers never chose another after their husband's deaths
“Can you teach me some Shadow Voodoo? “ she asks they pull back
“Not today you could call the Hazbin hotel and set up a time for lessons, “ Alastor says as he walks her back to the ballroom
Ryuu was trying to attack Diablo being held back by Azrael
the lights flicker
“What happened” Alastors voice echoed
“It was watered down,” Diablo says
“He did it,” Kalm says pointing at the older
Alastor walked over “What did you do?” he demanded
“It was two drops of Bezel juice in his Brandy, “ the sin son says the humans face was red in anger his eyes glowing he had claws
“He is lucky Aeshma's mark hasn’t been removed it kept him from Mutating fully,” Azrael says “Please relax because you are marked It should wear off and this is as far as you change” he assured
“How long” Ryuu growled his canines elongated into fangs
“A month but they will only appear when you are enraged so calm down and they will fade,” Azrael says Ryuu breathes trying to calm himself the angel sits him in his seat “Now for you” The angel makes a sandal appears in his hand the other angels flinch as he slaps it against his hand
“The fuck” Diablo says the Angel proceeds to bend him over his knee and paddles him with the footwear
In the end, Ryuu returned to normal a servant brought him a new untainted drink he smiled
“You got a damn power up and I can’t even have one drink,” Keijo says
“I don’t start striping when I drin,k” Ryuu says
“One time after many drinks I just want one it’s been a long two days,” Keijo says groaning
Ryuu stared him down “If you get drunk I’m asking the angel to borrow his sandals, “ he says
“ I actually expect that,” Keijo says Diablo was let up and rubbed his ass
“In private that would have been a turn-on,” the Sin son muttered Ryuu looked at the server
“One drink no Bezel juice, “ he says
“Whiskey on the rocks, “ Keijo says
“If you said it was on the rock I would have said yes earlier, “ Ryuu says sipping his drink
“You’re mean,” Keijo says pouting
“Ow,” Diablo says sitting down “How did my brother find you”
“You know what I’d like to know that too, what are his pass times up there” Keijo asks
“Watching people panic in natural disasters, eating weird food, going to Casinos winning watching others lose, going to K-pop concerts - “ Ryuu spit takes at that
Keijo starts laughing slowly then speeds up and gets louder pointing at Ryuu almost in tears the man cringed
“He met him at a K-pop concert,” Diablo says Ryuu blushed a bit
“No no get my Guitar case it has my tablet it’s way better than that,” Keijo says hysterical
“Don’t you dare” Ryuu snapped Diablo whistled his shadow beast popped out with the case and opened it pulling out the tablet Ryuu grabbed at it the shadow beast blocked him Virgil grabbed it laughing and typing he pulled up a music video
Ryuu groans “It was more than ten years ago,” he says
Diablo looked confused, and then Virgil pointed to one of the guys he looked at Ryuu then the screen then back at the man and started laughing
“You were a teen K-pop star” he blurted out
“It was for three years and I regret it,” Ryuu says Diablo looked again
“That scar on your forehead have something to do with why you quit” he asks
“I wear it with pride,” Ryuu says narrowing his eyes
“I got a video for that to likely why your brother went after Tennin,” Keijo says pulling it up and showing the group at a birthday party at a high-end hotel

gunmen were shouting with guns and knives they grabbed the birthday girl everyone stood back Until six-year-old Tennin ran in playing, one of the men pistol-whipped him, and he fell to the ground with a thud
Ryuu walked like a zombie to his brother people were yelling at him his eyes were shaking the gun man waved his gun at him he just walked past him and fell to his knees saying his brother's name saying to wake up the masked man squeezed his shoulder.
Ryuu whipped around and yanked the gun out of his hand throwing it into a guard's hand he grabbed the knife out of the guy's boot and threw it into the leg of the guy holding the girl hostage the girl screamed and ran to her mother.
the teen Ryuu was attacked he fought back he grabbed a wooden training sword and attacked until all but two were able to move one made the mistake of grabbing his brother he looked deranges with blood covering his face Tennin bit the guy and ran Ryuu jumped on him and just started punching him the guard took care of the other able intruder
Diablo paused and pointed at a spectator “There that's one of Aeshmas human disguises “ he says
“They had to pull him off him guy was in a coma for a week with the violence and the face scar he got kicked out didn’t help the guy he beat bloody had connections so he moved to the States with his family luckily he had dual citizenship from his mother and was born in the states moved to their summer house next door to my mom's house,” Keijo says
“Well that explains it he was turned on by your display,” Diablo says
“I got a payout from the girl's father to restart my life for saving her used it to go to college and invest in stock then used that money to fund the business now I’m my own boss what did I really lose “ Ryuu says
“Well your parents died while in Korea any way so either way they would have been at that party so nothing except you might have been there too and shared their fate,” Keijo says
“You are cold,” Virgil says
“My parents and I didn’t get along after I blew my shot at fame not that we were ever close at least I got Tennin out of those classes before he had to go through what I went through, “ Ryuu says
“Korea is crazy with their idol training,” Nathaniel says to Kalm who nods
“I’m worried about Shima coming after me I may have said something that helped Satan decide his punishment”
Ryuu looks over at him the teen walks over and whispers in his ear the man's eyes widen he smiles
“Kei I want to adopt your brother,” Ryuu says Keijo downs his drink and grabs Nathaniel
“No you have your own Nat is my brother, “ he says pouting
