“So Deku, are you ready for your first time on the talk show after..the incident?” Ochako asked as she and Himiko were standing backstage with Izuku, who last week was struck with bad news.
One For All was fading.
The news spread fast, very fast even. So fast even Himiko theorized it was the work of Curious, who was still out there with Skeptic.
Anyhow, today Izuku had to address everything on a talk show.
“Good evening, Deku. Glad to have you.” A tanned woman with massive white teeth said, shaking the young hero’s hand but not looking at him. Instead, she looked straight into the camera. “How are the ladies? Have they left you already?”
“….Really, this is how you want to start this interview. Hey Deku, have your girlfriends cheated on you yet?” Izuku mumbled dryly, causing the host to laugh out loud.
“Come on, Deku. You can’t blame them.”
“What makes you say that?”
“I mean, you’ll be quirkless soon. So I just assumed you’re already preparing yourself for all your friends and family to abandon you.”
“…How DARE you?” Whatever ‘fun’ atmosphere the host tried to have (despite only her laughing), it got destroyed once Izuku stood up with a glare. “How dare you imply my allies, my friends who have been with me through hell and back, when I was too far up my own ass, would abandon me for such shallow reasons as me losing my quirk?”
“Now now, isn’t it true that you haven’t seen each other a lot recently.”
“Yes, because we are fucking adults with jobs. Some of us even have two. We can’t all be like you, sitting here like a pampered up prostitute, annoying the crap out of everyone.” Izuku ranted as from off stage, Ochako and Himiko threw themselves at Izuku, hugging him in an attempt to calm him down.
“Calm down, Izu. Tell them about the badass suit!” Himiko called out while Ochako kissed Izuku’s freckles, which was the easiest way to calm him down.
“Right..thanks sweetie.” Izuku sighed before sitting down again. “So it’s true that my quirk is slowly fading. But don’t worry, Shield and Hatsume industries are building a special suit to replicate my quirk.”
“So the rumors are true. Is it also true that Dynamight is funding the whole thing?”
“….No, it’s a group effort.”
“But it has to have been Dynamight’s plan, right. Afterall, he is also a quirkless hero with gadgets.”
“No, it was All Might’s plan. It’s similar to what he used to fight All For One years ago.”
“So that villain that Dynamight defeated.”
“…No! The first time it was All Might, the second time my wonderful girlfriends with Phantom thief, Real steel, Battle fist and Mustard. And the last time was me, Uravity, Shoto, Ingenium and Froppy. Yes, Dynamight helped the second time, but it was a team effort.”
“But isn’t it true that he fought that dangerous villain for you?”
“By that logic, so did Grape Juice. And I know he’s my friend, but I like to keep it to that.”
“Come on, don’t you have a special place in your heart for Dynamight? Perhaps when Miss Uravity runs off with her villain.”
“Oh fuck, she’s one of those fans.” Ochako mumbled, remembering that there was a sizable group of people who rather have her boyfriend hook up with his ex childhood friend. And you know, it can be in good fun. She has read romance novels, she knows enemies to lovers. Hell, she and Izuku went through it with Himiko. But a small part of that group really wants them to be together, going as far as go on forum to tell people Uravity is a golddigger, a closeted lesbian (because bisexual isn’t a thing), or that Izuku is secretly cheating on her with Katsuki. And once Himiko was discovered, they only used her to prove why she was unworthy of Izuku.
Because apparently supporting and loving him makes her less deserving of love than some guy who bullied him relentlessly and only apologized after years. And yes, Katsuki fought a dangerous villain to protect Izuku, but Ochako did the same with the same villain..twice even.
“*sigh* No, I’m not in a relationship with Dynamight. After years, we’re slowly patching things up, but that’s it.”
“So you two are growing closer. Perhaps you can join his agency once you get his suit.” At that point, Izuku realized he was talking to a wall. So he just grabbed the mic before turning to the camera.
“In summary. My quirk is fading, but all my ex classmates are helping me build a suit to get me back to my full capacity. And I don’t know why I still have to explain this, but I’m not dating Dynamight. I even wanted to propose to my girlfriends tonight, but she ruined the mood.”
“Screw that, I want to be a Midoriya now!” Himiko immediately cried out, jumping into Izuku to look for the ring. At the same time, someone backstage gave Ochako a paper, which she then gave to the host.
“See you in court, Miss.” The brunette said before pulling her boy/girlfriend off stage, where by that time, Izuku had gotten text from all his old classmates that they would never abandon him, especially not when he had no quirk anymore.
Though to his surprise, Katsuki was the second one to say it. The first was Tenya, because of course he’s the first.
