Location: combat room
*Sophia pov*
After breakfast ended, Megan immediately brought me to the combat room to train. We've been here since 9 AM, and it's now 12 PM.
The entire time she's been showing me how to work with small knifes. The position your body needs to be in, and the looseness of the wrist when turning it around.
I practice the scenarios with a practice knife over and over, and practice the movements on a mannequin. I move my hand in a slicing motion, when I'm startled by Megan clapping her hands.
"Okay. Now let's really get started. You'll be sparring against me for 2 minutes using what I just learned you and what Dani learned you yesterday. If you get one hit on me with the practice knife, the lesson ends here. If I get a hit, you'll push up 20 times with me on your back, understood?"
I'm shocked with the punishment I'll be getting, but decide to motivate myself with not wanting to do the push ups.
"I understand."
Megan leads me to the sparring ring in the middle of the combat room, and picks up a practice knife on the way. Once we're inside the ring, I hear the sound of a bell.
Megan looks me dead in the eye and grips her knife tighter.
"Start."
She swings at me with the knife and I manage to dodge by backing away. I then thrust my knife in the direction of her stomach but she blocks the attack, turns me around, and holds the knife against my neck.
"Dead. In 10 seconds. That's a new record for the shortest time anyone has lasted in this ring."
I blush, and stand up with Megan her help.
"Am I really that bad?" I ask Megan. Megan shakes her head.
"No. You're not. You're a beginner. Everyone has got to start somewhere and this is where you start. Now let's try again, you still have 1 minute left."
"Okay."
I get back in position, and make sure to pay extra attention to Megan's movements. This time when she swings I dodge again.
I thrust my knife in the direction of her stomach and she blocks it again, but this time when she tries to turn me around I let her and turn further than she intended.
Because of this I end up behind her and manage to hold the knife against her throat. Just then the bell of the timer rings. I take the knife off Megan's throat, and she gives me an approving nod.
"Very good. You're a quick learner. You'll still have to do the push ups at the next training."
"Thank you." I say gratefully.
My arms already hurt from practicing the swings, push ups would not help.
When I turn around to leave, I see Manon. She's leaning against a wall and has a smirk plastered on her face.
"How about sparring with me?"

*Author pov*
After Manon finished a meeting with Yoonchae she decided to go and see how Sophia's doing with her weapon training. She was secretly hoping that she could get the chance to carry Sophia again.
When she arrived at the combat room, she saw Sophia and Megan sparring. Sophia was doing very well. She dodged Megan her attacks, and managed to place her knife against Megan's throat. It was clear to Manon that Megan was holding back.
That's why she decides to grab the opportunity to truly see what Sophia can do.
"How about sparring with me?" She asks her.
Sophia is shocked at Manon her proposal. In her mind she knows that this might be a bad idea, but her competitive spirit just can't refuse a challenge like this. So she does the same thing every competitive person would do: she accepts the challenge.
"Sure." She says as nonchalantly as she can.
Manon walks up into the ring and takes Megan's practice knife. She stands opposite Sophia and looks her straight in the eye. She can tell she's nervous, so she gives her a encouraging smile and gets into fighting position.
"You have 90 seconds. Go."
After Megan says that, the match begins. At first they circle around each other looking for weaknesses, until someone attacks and the other dodges.
The game of cat and mouse continues for a while, until the attacks start getting more aggressive and harder to dodge.
When Sophia attacks again Manon dodges and Sophia loses her balance for a split second. And that split second was enough for Manon to sweep her off her feet.
Sophia falls onto her back, and Manon places her knife against Sophia's throat and lies over her the moment Sophia's back makes contact with the floor.
"You okay?" She asks Sophia.
"Yeah. That was really good." She responds.
"Thanks. You're pretty good for a beginner."
"Thanks."
They stare into each others eyes. Sophia shifts her gaze at Manon her lips. She blushes, and Manon bites her lips. Their faces inch closer together until their-
Until someone clears their throat.
"You guys not in the combat room please. No distractions, remember?" Megan says annoyed.
Honestly she wouldn't mind if it was anywhere else, but this room is the only place she can be to lose herself in the training without flashback of people doing weird things.
Manon sends a glare her way and sighs. Rules are rules. She gets off Sophia and helps her stand up. She then grabs her hand and walks her out of the room after putting the knifes away and greeting Megan who greets them with an apologetic smile.
They walk to Sophia's room. Once inside Manon sits on the bed and waits for Sophia as she showers. She wonders what was going through Sophia's mind during their moment in the ring.
Did she also feel that connection? That desire? She continues to think about it, until Sophia walks out of the bathroom dressed in a bathrobe.
Sophia sees Manon on the bed thinking and wonders what she's thinking about. Is Manon also attracted to her? Or is she only doing such things because she has to marry her?
Sophia is so caught up in her thoughts she doesn't notice Manon standing behind her, until she wraps her arms around Sophia's waist.
"What ya doing?" Manon asks.
"Picking out my clothes for the shopping date and wondering when we got so close."
"Just wear something that's easy to take off."
Sophia blushes at her words. She wonders how Manon can say things like that so easily. Manon chuckles at Sophia's reaction and plants a small kiss on the back of her neck. Sophia gasps.
"What was that?!" She exclaims.
"You shouldn't have such dirty thoughts this early in our relationship. I just said that because you will have to change a lot when fitting clothes."
"Okay." Sophia says softly.
She chooses a light denim skirt along with a blue crop top, and sends Manon out of her room. She wears the clothes and walks out of the room.
But instead of standing at the door, Manon is nowhere to be seen. Sophia looks around. 'Now would be a good time to look around right?' Sophia thinks.
After confirming no one is around she decides to look around to see if she can find something suspicious.
She walks in the opposite direction of the stairs, careful not to let out a sound. She realizes she's walking through a long hallway with no doors on either side.
She stops and looks back to check if Manon shows up before continuing. For a while there's no change, but then Sophia sees a big metal door.
She stops. It's unusually quiet. She slowly takes another step, and just then a bloodcurdling scream sounds from behind the door.
Sophia completely freezes. Through her mind theories flash of what could be happening behind that door. All her senses tell her to turn around and run back to her room, but she can't bring herself to move.
After what felt like an eternity, she finally manages to move her muscles. She turns around fast to run to her room but comes face to face with someone.
"What are you doing here?"
