Looking Through the Mist (Old Version)
Summary
Terumi Mei was hesitant to let the girl go. She had seen the effect war had on her, and if there was one thing she could hope for it was to give Nara Riko a chance to heal and strengthen herself after the war before sending her back. To do that, however, she would have to keep her in Kiri longer, and there was no way she could justify that. Not unless the girl had a Genin team and was tied to the village indefinitely, anyway. And while Riko divides her time between missions and her team, the Mizukage may just be able to give the girl an advantage against the threats that are growing all around them.

Rewrite in Progress

So, based on some crit in the comments (thank you, by the way, I always appreciate some feedback if things are hard to follow or getting in the way of the story), and the fact that circumstances have changed in such a way as to make this story no longer enjoyable, I am following in Silenceia's footsteps (thank you for your advice!) and rewriting this story. I've been working on it here and there the last couple weeks, and have about five chapters, but I think I'm going to give it a bit more time before it comes out, just because classes are really running me ragged.

Some major changes:

- no more Korean/Korean culture elements/Korean names. This was a big one that people had issues with, and one of the things that gets in the way of me writing it, as I'm not taking Korean anymore and it's hard to get into the mood to work with a language that I'm not actively studying when I have so many assignments to do and other stories to write.

- The plot. There's going to be a much more Kiri-centric plot. That's not to say Konoha won't show up on occasion, given they're another Hidden Village, and even in Silenceia's story there was an alliance starting to form. But Riko/Ren's adventures will be far more centered around Kirigakure and her team(s) there.

Those are the two major ones, but if you have any questions, I'm on tumblr @putmymusiconshuffleidareyou and I try to respond to comments if I get the chance, but sometimes I forget.

Release: I'll try to get it out later this month, but don't be surprised if it doesn't come out until after finals in May.
