Alessia was in love with Ella Toone .
Or at least she was for a while.
Her best friend had been there during the ups and downs of her life, so it wasn't really that hard to feel love for her.
But this happening only left her heartbroken.
Because she did muster up the courage to tell her.

Flashback:
They were at a lionesses camp, and everyone had decided to blow a bit of steam off and have a glass of wine that may or turned into many glasses of different types of alcohols.
A glass had given less the courage to try
And convey her feelings to the brunette.
"El," alessia whispered
"What?" A tipsy tooney answered
"I love you," alessia whispered again but barely audible.
"Yeah, I love you too idiot" Ella's reply was slightly sarcastic
"No, I mean I love love you" alessia mumbled anxiously
"No you don't less I have a boyfriend and I'm sure you'll have one soon but you're just going through a phase I promise" ella said with quite a harsh vehemence in her voice.
And that was that.
Ella never brought it up the next day and completely ignored alessia. The one time she did slightly mention it.

Their friendship had been slightly ruined because of this but only from Ella's part because she would ignore texts alessia has sent her for days and then only reply with one word.
She barely even reacted when it was announced that alessia was going to be transferred.
Alessia could swear that she saw a face of relief from her so-called best friend.
On her last day at Man United, the midfielder gave her a slight side hug and murmured good luck but then went off with some other players.
Other than that it had been radio silent.
No calls or texts.
Honestly, alessia could have done with just a reassuring touch from her best friend, but she never did.
"Hey, leah, thank you for letting me stay here until i get a flat sorted" the striker said to the blonde.
"It's no problem less it was getting a little lonely anyway" leah replied, smiling at alessia.
Leah led alessia across a little hallway and stopped outside a pristine white door.
"This will be your room sorry its not much but" leah started opening the door.
"It's perfect, thank you le" alessia smiled warmly at leah
"I'll help you settle in, and then I was wondering if you wanted to go out for dinner" leah asked looking at alessia.
"Asking me out already Williamson you move quickly don't you" alessia replied winking.
Poor leah stood her face burning red for a good minute before countering the woman in front of her.
" Ahh, maybe you'll have to wait and see won't you russo" leah smirked turning her feet and walking out the door
Now it was alessias turn to go red.
Yet she quickly recovered and started unpacking her things.
Once she finished she went down to the kitchen to the sight of leah making cups of tea.
"Tea less" she offered without even looking.
"Ooh yes please le" alessia replied looking around the cosy but mostly unused kitchen.
"Do you know what I've always wanted to get to know you better" leah said out of the blue.
"Yeah me too leah" alessia agreed smiling at the old women who was handing her the mug of tea.
"What about truth or dare" leah thought out loud.
"I mean I'm up for it but isn't it a bit twelve year old ish" less asked
"Who cares anymore its not like anyone will know" leah countered.
"Okay then" alessia answered nodding
"Really" replied looking at the other blonde.
"Yeah" alessia smiled.
"Truth or dare alessia " leah asked after taking a long sip of tea.
"Truth" alessia commented back trying to keep in the sort of safe option.
"Why arsenal" leah said gently.
" it just made sense I mean as much as I loved man united it just wasn't working anymore and I already knew people on the team so coming here just felt right" alessia answered purposely keeping the tooney bit out of it.
"Truth or dare Williamson" alessia asked the woman infront of her who was sipping tea.
"I think I'll live Dangerously and pick dare" Leah replied
" Okay then text the arsenal groupchat and tell them that alessia is the best" alessia teasingly said.
"I'm only joking don't do that" she added quickly.
"No ill do it I wouldn't be lying anyway" leah answered picking up her phone and sending that text to the groupchat instantly getting replies that agreed with the statement.
"Truth or dare alessia" leah asked softly
"I'll go for another truth" alessia smiled at the other women.
"What's your deepest secret" leah paused in the middle of saying.
"Oh um I don't know if I can say it" alessia murmured a tear glintering in the corner of her eye
"Okay it's fine then" leah replied a tad bit disappointed.
"I made my best friend hate me" Alessia barely whispered a sole tear running down her face.
"What" leah exclaimed.
"I told her I loved her and she turned to me and said she was straight and that I was too and I should find a boyfriend " alessia finished heartbroken.
Leah was furious. What type of person would point blank miss an opportunity to be loved by one of the nicest people.
"Now she doesn't talk to me and she knew I had to be transferred and didn't even bother to tell me" Alessia further explained.
"I can't fucking believe her" leah whispered with a slight vehemence behind her tone.
"Lessi if anyone ruined the friendship its her you were honest and that's a key foundation of friendship but she was a bitch and that was just wrong" leah reassured the woman infront of her.
"When was this like when did you say something" leah continued
"After the euros le" alessia sobbed silently.
"I don't think I was in love with her though looking back I think it was easy to convince myself I was because she was my support for a long time so it made sense but it just spiralled from there" alessia spoke calmly
"Yeah I understand less but it's still not right the way she spoke to you, you're feelings are valid too not just hers" leah replied a bit annoyed.
"I know I know" alessia answered a stray tear streaking her cheek
"I hate the way she probably made you feel less" leah spoke as she put her arm around the younger girl.
" if it was me I wouldn't of said no in the first place" leah continued softly smiling.
"What" alessia replied looking up at leah.
"I said that your funny, gorgeous and possibly the nicest person I've ever met so she'd be an absolute fool to turn you down" leah repeated adding on some extra information.
"You really think that" alessia asked quietly.
"Of course I do less like come on your amazing" leah confidently confirmed.
"Thank you so are you though leah" alessia mustered up trying to at least take a little chance.
The defender simply smiled at her and suggested they go out for dinner.
Both of them easily felt at comfort around each other.
There was no awkwardness at all, it was almost like the missing part of a jigsaw puzzle they both needed.
It didn't take long for leah's stomach to flutter when she was near or in proximity of the striker and it also didn't take long for alessia's heart to race when the defender came into view.
Alessia was settling in well at arsenal and compared to how it had been at the end of her time at united she was doing amazing.
Everything was still silent from her "best friends" side even though she sent more texts to check up on her but it began to bother her less because for the first time in what felt like forever she was happy with where she is in life.
Though her one problem was the massive crush that she developed on the woman she lived with.
Possibly fueled by the fact that she had a crush on the england captain when she was in youth groups.
Alessia was too scared to do anything about it to be honest because she didn't want leah to feel like it's her because it's not tooney because it isn't alessia genuinely likes her.
It slipped out.
She accidentally said something whilst they were having a hot drink before bed.
And instead of saying either what tooney did or just politely declining her leah Williamson did not.
Leah gently pushed the strand of blonde hair lingering near the front of alessias eye.
Then slowly leant in and kissed the other woman softly.
"I like you alessia god maybe even love, I can't give you the world but I can give you my love" leah started.
"Sorry that got too cheesy too fast" leah cringed at her own previous words.
"What im trying to say Is I love you and I think I always will" leah said putting her hand in the strikers.
"I love you too leah" alessia spoke wrapping her arms around leah pulling her closer to her.
"And I think I always will" alessia finished as leah softly Pecked her lips staring awingly at alessia.
"Will you be my girlfriend alessia russo" leah asked nobly in alessia's embrace.
"Of course I'll be your girlfriend, Williamson," alessia replied happily holding leah.
