Chapter 8
Over the past few months, Louise had found out a lot about herself and the family she was apart from. Even with getting to know them, Louise hadn’t had the courage to tell them she was expecting. In truth, hardly anyone knew that she was expecting as her and Guy had agreed to keep it hidden until the wedding.
Being in the bedroom, where she spent the first few weeks, Louise was sound asleep, although she seemed to be twitching and battling with the covers.
Standing by the side of the marquee, with the music playing, happy people was around her. Louise couldn’t help but feel guilty as the days before the wedding, they had lost a friend and other friends had been injured. Looking towards the happy couple, Bill and Fleur, Louise smiled softly, noticing that Matthew was there out of the corner of her eye. She was about to make her way towards him, when a silver light appeared, freezing her to the spot, fearing the news it may bring.
“The Ministry has fallen. The Minister of Magic is dead. They are coming.”
Processing the news, Louise eyes widened in despair, quickly moving through the crowd of people who was all panicking and apparting to their safe environments. In all the commotion, she didn’t have time to say farewell to anyone. Reaching Hermione and Ron, she noticed the looks of panic. When Harry finally reached the group, they all took Hermione’s hand, apparting away, not knowing when they would see their friends or family again.
Her eyes shot open, noticing that the room was still dark. Sitting up, she ran a hand through her hair, looking at the alarm clock to see that it was 2o’clock. That was way too early for her to wake up, as for Louise, there was only one 2 o’clock and that was two in the afternoon. Laying back down, Louise pulled the covers tightly around her as she drifted of to sleep again.
“Louise,” Ginny said, nudging her friend, “Come on. Stop being lazy. It’s your wedding day,” Ginny continued, nudging Louise again, hoping that she would wake up.
Opening one eye slightly, Louise glanced at Ginny, “What time is it?” she asked, sleepily, pulling the duvet over her head, struggling to keep her eyes open.
“Louise,” Ginny said louder, rolling her eyes, “You need to get ready. There’s only two hours to go until you set of.”
Taking hold of the duvet, Ginny pulled it of Louise with her grumbling in annoyance.
“Alright, I’m awake,” Louise said annoyed, sitting up, “There was no need to do that,” She said, attempting to take hold of the duvet.
“There was every need,” Ginny started saying, “because if it wasn’t me, it would have been Harry with a jug of water.”
“Well then, I’m grateful it was you and not Harry,” she said quietly, glancing around the room with her gaze falling on the wedding dress, she would be wearing in a few hours.
Watching Ginny, leave the bedroom, Louise got up, putting her dressing gown on, leaving the duvet on the floor where Ginny had left it. Heading downstairs, she could hear the many voices of the Weasley family, smiling to herself. It all seemed so unreal as for the past few years, Louise hadn’t expected that she would be getting married, let alone expecting a child. Entering the living room, she saw her friends and family who was all excited while preparing for the day ahead. Knowing that today was going to be one of the happiest days in her life, it didn’t stop all the nerves from coming. Allowing her gaze to fall on Harry, Louise felt proud of him aswell as being emotional. The memory of Bill and Fleur’s wedding came flooding back, with Louise realising that it had been the last time she had seen Harry in a suit, along with it being the first and last wedding she had attended.
“Louise,” Molly called, bringing Louise out of her thoughts.
Making her way over to Molly, Louise smiled weakly, taking a seat at the breakfast bar.
“Would you like some breakfast?” Molly asked.
“No thank you. I don’t think I would be able to keep it down,” Louise replied.
“Try to eat something,” Harry said, standing next to Louise, taking her hand, “Everything will be fine,” he continued, hoping that it would reassure her.
“I know. I’m just nervous and worried that something could go wrong,” She said quietly, knowing that they were foolish thoughts, wondering if every bride had them on their wedding day.
“It’s normal to feel nervous. I did when I married Arthur,” Molly commented, hoping it would reassure Louise, “But the only thing you need to worry about is you.” Molly stated, taking in the young girl.
Even though, Louise had been trying to keep the pregnancy a secret, she had been unsuccessful in keeping it from Molly, who had guessed when the morning sickness had started and Louise had confirmed it when the wedding dress needed little alterations to be done in order to accommodate the newly formed bump.
“But now it’s time for hair and make-up,” Molly stated, ushering Louise into the living room.
Following Molly into the living room, Louise sighed softly, knowing what Molly was trying to do, unfortunately it had no effect. Sitting in the chair, Louise looked in the mirror and was alarmed with how she looked. She had black rings under her eyes from not have plenty of sleep the last few days. The main worry for Louise was if any of the Mikaelson’s would turn up or whether the day would go without any problems. While, she was having her hair and make up done, Louise was tried to clear her thoughts and think of happy memories. Despite doing that, some of her memories came rushing back and now she wished he could be there with her, walking her down the aisle to the man she loved.
Being lost in her thoughts, Louise hadn’t noticed that the hair and make-up was complete. When she felt someone touching her shoulder, she realised it was time to put the wedding dress on. Standing up, Louise was about to make her way upstairs when everyone stopped and watched the door. With the door opening, revealing a young girl, Louise’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Hope,” She blurted out, keeping her gaze on the female.
“Surprise,” Hope said, making her way towards Louise.
“What are you doing here?” Louise asked curiously, glancing at the female who was a cousin to her.
“Isn’t it obvious,” Hope replied, looking across at Ginny, “Here for your wedding and I’m one of the three bridesmaids,” Hope explained.
“One of the three?” Louise repeated, glancing at Ginny, “You said there would only be two,” Louise carried on, returning her gaze to Hope, “You should get ready.”
“And you too,” Harry interrupted, “Nice to see you again Hope.”
Rolling her eyes at Harry’s words, Louise turned to go upstairs. Reaching the bedroom, she glanced at the wedding dress, Louise sat on the bed, closing her eyes for a moment.
“I can’t do this,” she said quietly, “There’s people missing.”
“Like Freya?” Hope asked, “And you can do it Louise.”
“Yes and the rest of the Mikaelson’s.”
“I’m sure that they will find out and be there,” Hope said, trying to not to worry Louise too much.
“Think about Guy and the baby,” Ginny commented, unaware that Hope didn’t know about the pregnancy.
“Baby?” Hope asked surprised.
“I’m expecting,” She said, standing up and walking over to the dress, “I am doing the right thing, aren’t I?”
“Of course you are,” Ginny replied, “Let’s stop being foolish and enjoy the day ahead.”
With the three girls being upstairs, Harry was starting to wonder what was taking them so long. Since Louise had gone upstairs, Snow, David and Emma had all arrived. Glancing at the clock, Harry’s eyes widened in shock, noticing what the time was.
“Louise, it’s time,” Harry called upstairs.
“One minute,” Ginny called, placing the veil and tiara on Louise.
Glancing in the mirror for one final time, Louise smiled weakly, taking in how she looked. This was it and for Louise, there was no turning back. Walking out of the bedroom and down the stairs, Louise was greeted with the Weasley’s and her family. It had made perfect sense for the Weasley’s to see her in the wedding dress first as Louise considered them as family.
“Louise,” Molly started, grinning broadly, “You look beautiful.”
“Thank you,” She said.
“However, we will see you there,” Molly said, kissing Louise on the cheek.
With the Weasley family leaving, Louise was left with her family both biological and adopted.
“You do look beautiful,” David said agreeing with Molly, taking her hands in his, “I shouldn’t have been against this. I’ve seen how much you love him and that he also loves you.”
Hearing the words, Louise was taken aback with what David had said, but that didn’t stop the tears leaking out of her eyes.
“Thank you,” She said quietly, hugging him.
Pulling away from the hug, a small frown appeared on her face. Hearing clattering noises which got louder, Louise walked into the kitchen. Glancing out of the window, she saw two beautiful white horses, pulling a very elegant carriage. With the presentation of the carriage, she knew instantly that it would have been fit for a princess. Now Louise knew that she was a princess, especially if they found themselves in the Enchanted Forest, although she felt like one in Storybrooke, which was now part of the United Realms.
“Oh Guy, you shouldn’t have,” Louise whispered to herself.
“Actually it was us,” Snow corrected Louise, standing behind her, “Call it a wedding present.”
Blushing, Louise couldn’t believe that anyone would have done this for her, let alone her parents.
“You shouldn’t have,” She said glancing at Snow, “Thank you.”
“Not one to interrupt but its time to go,” Harry commented, glancing at Louise.
Little had changed in Louise’s life since moving to Storybrooke, but the one thing which had changed was her relationship with her biological parents. The relationship which had developed, now left Louise in two minds on who was giving her away at the alter. It had always been Harry but she was wondering if her father would do it.
“You can change your mind,” Harry said, noticing that Louise was in a world of her own.
Knowing exactly what Harry was on about, she took his hand, “I have,” She whispered, “You are my brother, my sweet younger pain-in-the-ass brother but would you mind if my father gave me away?” She asked, glancing back towards David, “And I’m certain, that he will allow you to do the speech.”
Being surprised in what Louise was saying, David looked at her surprised, “Are you sure?” He asked as he had never contemplated that Louise would change her mind.
“I will do the speech and I don’t mind. It’s his duty as your father,” Harry explained, glancing at David.
“Yes I am sure,” She replied, keeping her gaze on David, “You are my father, my family.”
“I think we should get going before people wonder where you are and to also stop Guy from worrying that you are not coming,” Harry said sternly.
With Harry’s words, Louise laughed to herself, making there way outside. Feeling the cool breeze on her skin, she noticed her hand were wet with sweat. A sure sign that she was nervous, even though she had told everyone she was fine.
Sitting down in the carriage, Louise looked to Harry, while David followed Louise onto the carriage.
“Look after her,” Harry said, closing the carriage door.
“And mum, make sure you keep him out of trouble,” Louise said cheekily, as the carriage started to move.
For Guy of Gisborne, it had been a long night as he hadn’t been able to relax much. The Sheriff hadn’t helped, with him insisting for Guy to finish later than he normally would do. Making his way to the Royal Castle, Guy sighed nervously, wondering what would happen and whether Louise would actually turn up and become Lady Gisborne. When Louise had explained who she was, he knew that it wasn’t going to be a small wedding, even though they would have preferred it. As the carriage slowed down, he immediately understood what Louise meant. With the carriage coming to a standstill, Guy left the carriage, glancing around, allowing a small smile to appear. With how the castle was decorated, he knew that he wouldn’t have been able to do it any better. The castle was decorated with red and gold banners, along with red and yellow roses at the entrance.
With it getting increasingly closer to the start of the wedding, Guy was getting more and more anxious, worrying if Louise was well. Even though Louise hadn’t complained, he had noticed that she was more tired, then she had been. Seeing Lady Marian entering the castle, Guy smiled softly towards her. However, he hadn’t been expecting the Sheriff to attend and nodded his head towards him.
“Don’t worry, she’ll be coming,” Lady Marian said quietly.
“I know, I just worry about her,” Guy said, knowing that Marian would know the reason why, especially since he had confided to her about Louise and the thought of parenthood.
“Don’t. Just enjoy today. It’s yours and Louise’s.” Marian pointed out.
With the start of the ceremony, getting ever closer, the hall was almost full, apart from the first few rows of seats which had been reserved for Louise’s family, along with the Weasley’s. Seeing the family taking there places, Guy knew that it wouldn’t be long until Louise was here.
The room was filled with excitement, happiness but Guy was nervous. Realising that the room was now quieter, he looked behind to see Harry walking down the aisle. Where was Louise? Had she got cold feet?
The journey to the castle seemed to have been one of the longest journey’s Louise had. During the journey, she had admitted to herself that she was scared and nervous. With the sound of bells getting louder, Louise knew that they must be close. Glancing out of the carriage, Louise saw the castle ahead and was shocked at how well it looked and especially with how it had been decorated. She knew that she had made the right decision by allowing her friends and family to decorate the venue. Picking up the bouquet of flowers, yellow and red roses, Louise glanced to David as the carriage came to a stop.
“Louise,” David called softly, offering his hand.
Taking his hand, Louise got out of the carriage, knowing immediately that she had made the right choices for her. Seeing Hope, Ginny and Emma, Louise smiled towards them but could tell that Ginny was confused about something. She would have thought that Harry had would of told her about the change, but it was obvious, he hadn’t.
“Is…”
“Louise, stop worrying,” Ginny said sternly, “But everything is fine. He’s here and waiting for his bride,” Ginny continued in a reassuring tone of voice with Hope adjusting the dress, while Emma placed the veil over her face.
Linking her arms with David’s, Louise smiled nervously, “Let’s get it started,” She said quietly, watching the bridesmaids enter. With the room getting closer, her nerves was becoming to come back as the feelings of butterflies was present in the stomach. Stopping, Louise took a deep breath, in a bid of leaving the nerves behind.
“Louise,” David said concerned.
“I can’t do this,” Louise whispered, unlinking her arm from David’s, “Not after last year.”
Hearing the words, Ginny and Hope glanced at each other as they knew what exactly she had meant.
“You can Louise,” Ginny said, reassuring, “It’s not like the last time.”
“We won’t let anything bad happen,” Hope commented, taking Louise’s hand, “Just enjoy today.”
Listening to what they were saying, Louise knew that they were right. Putting a smile back on her face, she linked her arms with David.
“I know. I cant leave him waiting any longer,” She said quietly, as she felt David gently squeezing her hand.
Allowing Ginny, Hope and Emma to enter the room, she began to follow them once they were about a quarter way down the aisle.
Entering the hall, she glanced round the room to see how it had been decorated and she was pleased with what they had done. Focusing her attention on the front, her gaze immediately fell on Guy who was dressed in black leather. She hadn’t expected anything less. Stopping at the side of Guy, she unlinked her arm from David’s before passing the bouquet to Ginny.
Turning her attention to Guy, she smiled slightly, “I asked him. It seemed right.” She whispered.
The wedding seemed to go quickly and before she could realise it, it was time for the vows. Listening to Guy’s vows, Louise couldn’t help but smile as she knew that Guy would stand by her no matter what. He definitely would love and cherish her, stay with her in sickness and health, for richer and poorer. As the ring was placed on her finger, she knew that she would have to make the same vows which she had no trouble in doing apart from the fact, that the baby had decided to wake up and was being very active. To Louise, it was like the baby wanted to be a part of the day in which their parents were sharing. Finishing the vows, she gently placed the ring on Guy’s finger.
“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride,” the vicar said.
With that, Guy lifted the veil to reveal Louise’s face, allowing it to fall over the tiara, down her back. Feeling the touch of Guy’s hands on her face, Louise closed her eyes for a second as they kissed each other passionately. While they was kissing, there was a round of applause, along with some cheering mainly from the bride’s side of the congregation.
Pulling away, Louise had hoped, it could have lasted, “Lady Gisborne,” Guy whispered in her ear as he took her hand in his.
Being called Lady Gisborne, seemed to be weird for Louise, but it didn’t matter- well not today. Letting her fingers intertwine in Guy’s, they both made their way out.
When they was out in the grounds of the castle, Louise felt like she could breathe again and could begin to enjoy the day.
“We did it,” She whispered, turning to Guy.
“Yes we did,” he said, glancing down.
Realising where his gaze had gone, Louise looked down, placing a hand on her bump, “I know. I was surprised.” She said quietly.
With the sounds of the guests chatter getting louder, Louise removed her hand from her bump. Glancing towards the doors, she saw the Sheriff coming out, she allowed her gaze to stay on him, only to be given a disapproving look back.
“Don’t worry about him,” Guy whispered, realising who Louise was looking at.
“I’m not,” She replied, looking at Guy, well not today,” She said with a smile as she kissed him on the cheek.
“Louise,” Harry called out, approaching the couple, “Congratulations and welcome to the family Guy.” Harry said happily, “Although it is time for the photos.”
