Chapter 59
“Are you sure you don’t mind I’m doing this?” Lola asked for her perch in Loki’s palm where she’s sitting, braiding flowers into the hair she can reach of his long blonde hair. The giant looked down at her with a smile that could warm the coldest of winters.
“If it’s you’re doing, Princess, I could never be against it.” Loki’s deep voice rumbled like distant thunder, sending a warm shiver down Lola’s spine. His metallic nose shell caught the light of the setting sun, making his profile look like it was carved by the gods themselves.
Lola blushed at his words, her chubby cheeks turning a deep shade of pink. She had never felt so tiny and yet so significant. Despite his fierce exterior, Loki had the kindest eyes she had ever seen, a stark contrast to the stories she’d heard of his warrior reputation.
“So, tell me about Elbaph,” she said, eager to learn more about the place she would soon call home. Loki’s eyes lit up with excitement. He talked about the towering mountains and the vast, green valleys where the giants lived in harmony with nature, building their wooden houses into the sides of the cliffs. The tales of their battles and feasts filled her with a sense of wonder and a hint of nervousness.
