Chapter 54
Hancock has been wandering around this godforsaken beach for the past hour trying to find Luffy. He knew that Luffy’s Grand Fleet was big but he didn’t realize just how big until he saw the sheer amount of ships docked on the horizon. It was like a floating city. A cacophony of laughter, clanging swords and the smell of grilling meat filled the air.
As he made his way through the throngs of people he stumbled across Zoro, Robin, and Nami chuckling over something. Hancock approached them, his heart racing as he tried to play it cool. “Excuse me, have you seen Luffy?” He asked, trying not to let his desperation show.
In unison the three stopped their conversation and looked up at him before looking at each other, smirks playing on their faces. “Yeah, but she’s a bit… busy right now.” Nami said, her eyes gleaming with amusement.
“Busy?” Hancock's heart sank a bit. He had been so looking forward to seeing Luffy again. “Doing what?”
“She’s getting cozy.” Zoro said with a knowing smile.
Hancock raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. “What do you mean?”
“Oh my God.” Nami huffed a laugh. “You know you’re the emperor of Amazon Lily, and supposed to be the most gorgeous man in the world, so, I feel like you of all people should get what we’re hinting at.”
Hancock blinked, his mind racing with scenarios, none of them particularly pleasant. “I don’t know what you mean, but I need to find her.” He said, trying to keep the irritation out of his voice.
“Well, you’re not gonna find her because she’s busy getting cozy with someone.” Zoro leaned back, arms folded across his chest, his smirk growing. “And not the cuddling type of cozy, if you catch my drift.”
Hancock's face fell, his stomach doing a flip. "What are you talking about?" he demanded, his voice a mix of confusion and irritation.
“Oh my God, she’s having sex. She’s getting cozy with someone, you know, doing the devil‘s tango?” Nami rolled her eyes, still grinning. “You’re so clueless sometimes, Hancock. You really need to get out more.”
The revelation hit Hancock like a punch in the gut. His heart felt like it was being squeezed in a vice grip as he processed the words. Luffy, with someone else? The thought was unbearable, sending a jolt of jealousy and anger through his veins. He didn’t know how to react, his emotions a tumultuous storm inside.
“Who? Who is she with?” Hancock’s voice was strained, his eyes searching the trio for an answer.
Nami waved him off. “Calm down, calm down, she’s just fucking one of her division commanders.”
Hancock's eyes widened in shock and betrayal. "One of her own?" His heart raced as he tried to figure out who it could be. "Which one?"
“Does it matter?” Zoro asked, rolling his one good eye. “Let the girl be, she’s just have some fun and relieving some pent up stress.”
The idea of Luffy, the person he had sworn his undying loyalty to, engaging in such an intimate act with one of her division commanders was too much for Hancock to handle. He felt his cheeks burn with a mix of embarrassment and anger.
