Chapter 16
“Hey, Kid.” Killer calls out as he walks into the mess hall of the Kid pirates pirate ship The Victoria Punk, a newspaper in one hand and a bounty poster in the other. “I think I may have just found the love of your life.”
Eustass Kid, the captain of the notorious pirate crew, looks up from his plate of half-eaten food, an nonexistent eyebrow quirked in skepticism. “You're full of it, Killer. What've you got there?” He wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, a smear of grease from his meal still on his lip.
“No, I don’t think so.” Killer said, his mouth folded by his blue and white striped mask, and kid could just hear the smirk in his voice. He chuckled as he looked at the bounty post. “No, I think I’m completely right. This chick has a bounty of 90,000,00 berries, and she hasn’t even left the East blue yet.”
The mess hall grew quiet. The clinking of cutlery on plates ceased, the chuckles of the crew members died down. Everyone looked up at Killer, who was holding up the poster with the flamboyant glee of a kid in a candy store. The room was thick with curiosity and confusion, like a fog that clung to the ceiling and refused to dissipate.
The bounty poster was of a young with thick, nape length jet black curly hair, dark brown eyes that were almost black, her skin was so tan It looked like she had been kissed by the sun. And in the bounty poster she was sitting in a chair, A chair that suspiciously looked like Arlong’s thrown at Arlong park. Her legs were crossed, and she was looking off to the side with a slightly melted popsicle in his hand. She was dressed in a dress that was made out of a fine silk and mesh spaghetti strap mini dress, the dress was a skin tight fine silk dress showing off her curbs and clinging to her body. The dress had Tiger print mesh over it, the Tiger print cutting diagonal to show off half of the black part of the dress underneath while the other half it the Tiger print, with The Tiger print going further down in the black part of the dress making a little flowy tail that fluttered in the wind. The dress was short, stopping right at her mid thigh. She had black and Orange kitten heels to match her dress, with bangle bracelets, rings, a necklace, and earrings. She was still wearing her iconic straw hat, but it didn’t make her outfit any less feminine. She even put on makeup. A gradient of glittery dark brown to a glittery burnt orange eyeshadow on her lids, eyeliner, mascara, light blush, and a nude lipstick with lipgloss over top of it.
In the bounty poster on the ground beside her Arlong lay sprawled out, looking like he just went through a meat grinder, then got hit head on by a freight train, then went through the meat grinder again, then was left in the sun to bake. His arm was bent at a disturbing angle and his teeth were knocked out, leaving only a few jagged pieces sticking out from his gums. And his scales looked bruised. The poster read "Wanted. Dead Or Alive: Monkey D. Luffy" and the bounty was written in a large, bold number that could make any pirate's heart flutter with excitement: 90,000,000 berries.
Killer, savoring the moment, looked around the room at his crew mates' stunned expressions, his blue and white striped mask hiding his own grin. “But that’s not all.” He tossed the newspaper down on the table in front of Kid. “She’s barely been a pirate for a month, and she’s already taken down Iron Mace Alvida, Buggy The Pirate, Axe-Hand Morgan, Captain Kuro, Don Krieg, and Arlong. And only got a crew of 4, plus her 5.”
The room buzzed with whispers and murmurs as the crew digested the information. The names of the defeated pirates were familiar to them all; each one a significant player in the East Blue that had met an unexpected end at the hands of this newcomer.
"Fuck me," someone muttered under their breath, "a chick with that kind of power? I'd love to see her in action."
Kid leaned back in his chair, the creaks echoing through the now-silent room. He snatched the newspaper from the table, his eyes scanning over the articles with growing incredulity. "Bullshit. No one's that much of a monster so soon."
Killer raised an eyebrow that was hidden under his mask, “don’t you recognize the Monky D. Name?” He chuckled, knowing full well that the name was a legend itself.
“Huh? Why would I recognize the name?” Kid retorted, his curiosity now fully piqued.
Killer sighed, slipping into the seat in front of him. “You know, Monkey D. Garp, the hero of the marine, the guy that took down the most feared and hated pirate in the world, the guy who took down King of the world Rocks D. Xebec, and you Know Monkey D. Dragon, The leader of the revolutionary Army, and the most wanted criminal in the world.”
The room grew silent again, except for the sound of pages turning as everyone looked at the newspaper Killer had thrown onto the table. The headline read "The New Age of Pirates: Monkey D. Luffy, the Terror of the East Blue."
"What the fuck," Kid muttered as he skimmed through the article. His orange eyes widened with every line. He knew of Garp, the hero of the Marines who took down and killed infamous Xebec, but the name Monkey D. Dragon was one that sent chills down his spine. It was like the name of a legend whispered only in the darkest alleys of the Grand Line.
"So, you're saying she's related to them?" He finally asked, looking up from the paper to meet Killer's gaze.
Killer nodded, the smirk audible in his voice, "Yep, she's Dragon's daughter, and Garp's granddaughter. Can you imagine the potential?"
The room erupted in a flurry of speculations and exclamations, but Kid's mind was racing faster than the words around him. A Monkey D. pirate with that kind of bounty, that kind of lineage? It was like a siren's call to the ambitious pirate within him. His eyes narrowed, and he felt a thrill of competition.
