Chapter 2
“Goddamnit!” Kid swore as he stopped dead in his tracks, just a couple feet away from the hot spring. “I swear wherever the fuck I go you two are always somewhere fucking near!” He was dressed in a flashy, blue yukata that didn’t quite match his usual attire, but the scowl on his face was unmistakable.
Law raised an eyebrow at him, sinking further into the water of the Hot spring. While Luffy didn’t pay either of them any mind as he stacked rocks on top of each other in a tower, his back turned away from Kid.
“You’re more than welcome to join us, Eustass-ya.” Law spoke up calmly, his tone mocking. “But maybe you’d prefer a different section of the spring?” He suggested with a smirk.
Kid rolled his eyes. “Fuck off, I’ve had enough of your shit for one day.” He kicked off his sandals and strode into the hot spring. The water bubbled around him, steaming in the cool Wano evening.
Luffy, still oblivious to the tension, kept stacking her rocks. The water felt heavenly on her skin, especially after the long journey they had been on. She was so focused on her little game that she barely registered Kid’s arrival, not even bothering to turn around.
Law eyed Kid from his spot not be Luffy but close, maybe 5 feet away from her, his smirk widening as the latter submerged himself in the hot spring.
Kid glared at him, his eyes narrowing as he took a seat on the rocks at the edge of the spring. "What's got you in such a good mood?" he asked, his voice gruff and suspicious.
Law chuckled, turning his head slightly to look at Luffy. “You Know, Strawhat-ya, I don’t think Eustass-ya knows.” He said, his voice filled with amusement.
Luffy stopped stacking rocks midway, her hands in the air holding a rock as she turn to face Law, giving Kid a full view of her Side profile, and her… tits. “Huh? Doesn’t know wh—.”
Luffy was cut off by Kid spitting curses, and the sound of water slashing around, then the sound of a hand slapping over someone’s face. “You’re a fucking chick!” He exclaimed, his eyes wide with shock beneath his hand, and his face turning a deep shade of red that matched the his hair.
Law laughed, a deep, hearty sound that echoed through the serene hot spring area. "Oh, Lord, have mercy" he said, his eyes gleaming with mischief. Luffy looked at him, then at her own chest, and finally back at Kid. She shrugged and resumed stacking her rocks, unfazed by the revelation.
"What the actual fuck, Luffy!" Kid yelled, his hand still covering his eyes. "How the hell could you hide something like this?" He slammed his hand down on the rock beside him, sending a spray of water into the air.
“I wasn’t hiding anything, nobody asked.” Luffy said matter-of-factly. She placed the rock atop her tower, watching it wobble before stabilizing. The water glistened on her bare shoulders, back and the curves of her body as she continue to stack the rocks.
Kid’s hand remained over his eyes, his breath coming out in huffs as he processed the revelation. “But, you’re always dressed like… like a guy that, and you act like a guys!” He stuttered, his face growing even redder.
Law snorted with laughter, the sound bouncing off the rocks surrounding the spring. "Is it really such a surprise, Eustass-ya? She's a pirate, after all. What do you expect?" He leaned back, his arms folded behind his head, watching the scene unfold with a glint of amusement in his eyes.
Kid splattered for a second. “You know! How long have you known?” He accused, pointing a finger at Law, and glaring at him through the gap between his hand and face.
“Since Marineford.” Law replied coolly, not missing a beat. His smug expression was clear as day.
Kid’s jaw dropped, his hand sliding down his face as he stared at Law in disbelief. “Marineford?! You’ve known for that long and you never said anything?!”
Luffy huffed, turning her full attention to Kid now. “What’s the big deal, jaggy? It’s not like I’ve been hiding in a closet with a bag over my head. If you’d just paid attention, you would’ve seen it sooner.”
Kid’s hand slowly dropped from his eyes, his gaze flickering over Luffy’s form. Her curves were more pronounced than he had ever noticed before, and her skin was a smooth caramel color in the flickering light of the torches that surrounded the spring. The shock was written all over his face, but his anger was starting to dissipate, replaced by embarrassment with the fact he was sharing a hot spring with a girl.
“It’s not that big of a deal, really.” Luffy said with a casual shrug, turning back to her rock tower.
Kid’s mind raced. He had been fighting alongside this... this... girl? For how long? He knew that damn strawhat for almost three years, so three years, well, technically only one because the Strawhat crew went MIA for two years. But still, a whole year and he hadn’t noticed. It was like someone had slapped him upside the head with a wet fish.
Law laughed at Kid’s expression. “She’s a cute girl isn’t she?” He teased, watching the redhead’s reaction with an amused smirk.
Kid’s eyes snapped to Law. “Fuck you! This isn’t funny!” He shouted, his voice echoing off the rocky walls of the hot spring enclosure.
Law’s smirk grew even wider. “Oh, but it is, Eustass-ya. It truly is. You’re always so caught up in your own shit, you miss the obvious. It’s quite entertaining, really.”
Kid shot Law a glare that could have boiled water, his cheeks flaming redder than the sunset. “Keep it up and I’ll show you what’s entertaining,” he threatened, though his voice lacked conviction. His mind was a whirlwind of confusion and embarrassment.
Luffy was still ignoring them, but softly said to herself. “Yeah, I’m a cute girl.”
Law laughed again, and Kids face lit up again like it was on fire. “Yes, yes, you’re a very cute girl Strawhat-ya.” Law said, his tone mocking but with a hint of something else.
Luffy powdered and huffed, splashing water at Law. “If you’re gonna say I’m a cute girl then don’t say it like you’re mocking me.”
“My apologies, I didn’t mean it like that.” Law replied, his smirk not fading. “But you are a cute girl, Luffy-swan, whether you like it or not. And it’s not often that someone as dense as you keep a secret like this from the world. It’s quite the feat, really.”
The only response he got returned was Luffy sticking her tongue out at him before turning her attention back to the rocks she was stacking.
Kid couldn't believe it. He had been so sure that Luffy was a guy, and now he felt like the biggest fool. But as he looked at her again, he had to admit she was indeed pretty. Her hair was a mess of wild black curls that framed her face, and her eyes, those fierce, sparkling eyes, were like nothing he had ever seen before. They were the kind of eyes that could make you feel like you were the only person in the world that mattered.
The silence between them grew thick, only broken by the occasional splash of water as Luffy continued her rock stacking. Until the sound of footsteps grew closer.
Luffy looked up from her rocks, bracing herself on the edge of the wall and pushing herself up so she could see who was coming.
Kid’s face flushed a darker shade of red as Luffy lifted her entire body besides her legs from the knees down out of the water, giving him a full view of her toned back and the ass. He hastily averted his gaze, trying to ignore the way his heart was racing in his chest.
“Zoro! Sanji, Chopper! You guy finally decided to join us?” Luffy called out, her voice cheerful and carefree as the footsteps grew closer. She didn’t bother to cover herself up, not even a bit of modesty crossing her mind.
“Yeah, Luff, Heard someone yelling and we’d come see.” Zoro drawled, his one visible eye scanning the area before landing on the two other captains. Sanji and Chopper followed closely behind him.
“Don’t worry about it, it was just jaggy.” Luffy said, lowering herself back into the water and continuing her rock stacking as if nothing had happened.
Sanji, the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates, couldn’t help but let his eyes wander over Luffy’s exposed form before quickly averting them as she re-submerged herself. His heart skipped a beat, noticing the way the water clung to her curves. He cleared his throat and tried to compose himself. “Is everything okay here?” He asked, a hint of curiosity in his voice.
Law chuckled, his eyes cutting towards the approaching trio. “Nha, Eustass-ya just didn’t know Strawhat-ya was a girl, that’s all.” He said casually, not bothering to hide his amusement.
Kid’s face went from red to a deep purple. “I knew that, I just—.”
“Knew what, Eustass?” Sanji smirked, crossing his arms and leaning against the side of the hot spring. “That our captain is as pretty as a peach?”
Kid’s face went from purple to a shade that could only be described as beetroot. “I—I didn’t know she was a girl!” He sputtered, splashing water as he tried to defend himself.
Zoro, ever the stoic swordsman, raised an eyebrow and drawled, “So, what’s the big deal?” He dropped his towel from his waist and stepped into the hot spring.
Chopper, the adorable reindeer-human hybrid doctor of the Straw Hats, couldn’t help but giggle a little as he watched the scene unfold. He had known Luffy’s secret for a long time now, and he found the reactions of others quite amusing.
"Is it really such a surprise, Eustass?" Zoro asked, his voice calm and unbothered as he sat down in the hot spring across from Luffy. His green hair was plastered to his face from the heat of the water. "Luffy's always been Luffy to us."
Kid looked from one Straw Hat to the other, his anger and embarrassment now mixed with confusion. "But how could you all not... I don't know, do something about it?"
“Do something about it?” Sanji questioned, dropping his towel and sliding into the hot spring a few feet away from Luffy, Chopper following closely behind.
Chopper giggled again, his cheeks puffing up. “It’s not like it matters to us, Eustass-san. Luffy’s our captain, and she’s a girl, so what? We’re all pirates here.” He said, his voice squeaking slightly from his giggle fit.
Kid sputtered in the water, trying to come up with a response. He had always known the Straw Hats were an unusual bunch, but this was something else entirely. He looked at Luffy, who had now moved onto floating her rocks instead of stacking them. She was grinning from ear to ear, clearly enjoying the chaos she had unintentionally caused.
"Well, I guess it doesn't change anything," Kid said finally, though his voice was tight with frustration. "You're still the same annoying pirate you've always been."
Luffy chuckled, her eyes lighting up with mischief. "Thanks, jaggy," she teased, flicking water at him playfully. "But if it bothers you so much, I can start wearing dresses, I don’t mind.”
Kid spluttered again, his cheeks burning even hotter. "Don't you dare!" he exclaimed, his voice a mix of outrage and something else he couldn’t quite place.
“A dress, huh?” Law mused, watching the exchange with a knowing smile. “That might actually be worth seeing.”
Sanji smirked, leaning back in the water with his arms folded behind his head. “Yeah, Luffy-Swan, that would be a sight to behold. But only if you promise to wear one that shows off those lovely curves of yours properly.” His eyes gleamed with a mix of humor and genuine interest.
“Keep it in your pants pervy-cook.” Zoro retorted, his eye never leaving the horizon as he sat in the hot spring, his skin steaming slightly from the heat. Despite his calm exterior, he couldn’t help but smirk at the thought of Luffy in a dress.
“Sure, I’ll wear a dress, I’ve got plenty.” Luffy said with a cheeky grin.
Kid’s eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets at the thought. “Why do you even have dresses?” He demanded, his voice a bit too high.
“Because I’m a girl, and I like dresses.” Luffy said matter of factly, her grin never leaving her face. She flicked water at Kid, causing him to flinch and cough as it hit his face. “You can borrow one if you want, jaggy. Maybe it’ll bring out your softer side?”
Sanji’s smirk grew wider as he watched the exchange, while Zoro rolled his eyes and focused on the horizon again. Chopper couldn’t hold in his giggles any longer, and soon the entire spring was filled with the sound of their laughter.
Kid’s face was a kaleidoscope of emotions as he sat in the water, feeling more and more out of place with every passing second. He had always seen Luffy as a rival, a fellow pirate to be respected and feared, but now... she was a girl. And not just any girl, but a girl who could kick his ass without breaking a sweat.
“I can’t believe it,” he mumbled under his breath, shaking his head in disbelief.
Luffy’s grin grew even wider as she watched Kid squirm. “What’s the matter, jaggy? You never seen a girl before?”
Kid’s face grew hotter if that was even possible. “It’s not that, it’s just—it’s just you’re not what I expected!”
Sanji chuckled, his gaze lingering on Luffy’s form as she played in the water. “Well, we’re all full of surprises, aren’t we?” He winked at her, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
Luffy shrugged and splashed water at Sanji. “It’s no big deal. You’re still you, and I’m still me. We’re all pirates here, so who cares about what’s under the clothes?”
Chopper’s giggles grew louder, turning into full-blown laughter as he watched the interaction. Sanji and Zoro couldn’t help but join in, their chuckles echoing through the night air. Law just leaned back, a knowing smile playing on his lips, enjoying the moment.
Eventually, after what felt like an eternity, but was really maybe an hour and a half they got out of the Hot spring and went back to their respective ships to get dressed.
And Luffy kept her promise.
She put on a dress.
The dress was made out of a fine silk and mesh spaghetti strap mini dress, the dress was a skin tight fine silk dress showing off her curbs and clinging to her body in the best way. The dress had Tiger print mesh over it, the Tiger print cutting diagonal to show off half of the black part of the dress underneath while the other half it the Tiger print, with The Tiger print going further down in the black part of the dress making a little flowy tail that fluttered in the wind. The dress was short, stopping right at her mid thigh. She had black and Orange kitten heels to match her dress, with bangle bracelets, rings, and a necklace. She was still wearing her iconic straw hat, but it didn’t make her outfit any less feminine. She even put on makeup. A gradient of glittery dark brown to a glittery burnt orange eyeshadow on her lids, eyeliner, mascara, light blush, and a nude lipstick with lipgloss over top of it.
Luffy looked like she just stepped off the pages of a pirate magazine.
Luffy leaned over the rail of her ship, The thousand Sunny slightly, to look over to kids ship, the Victoria punk, spotting kid and his Crewmate and yelling. “See, I told you I was a cute girl!”
Kid couldn’t help but look over, his jaw dropping as he took in the sight of Luffy in her tiger print dress. She looked like a fiery goddess that had just stepped off the pages of a pirate magazine. He felt his heart stutter in his chest and his cheeks burn hotter than ever before.
“Fuck me, you’re actually hot!” He exclaimed without thinking, his hand shooting up to cover his mouth. He had never seen Luffy like this before, and it was messing with his head in ways he didn’t know how to handle.
Luffy just grinned at him, waving her hand in the air. “What? You said you wanted to see it, so here it is!” She said, spinning around so the kid pirates could see all sides of her. The wind picked up, making the skirt of her dress flutter around her.
Kid’s crew was just as shocked as he was. Killer, Heat, Wire, and Gig all had their eyes wide open as they stared at the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates in a dress. They had never seen Luffy dressed up like this before. The dress hugged her body perfectly, showcasing her toned abs and muscular legs, while the Tiger print mesh gave just enough of a peek of her curves to make them blush.
"I can't believe it," one of the Kid Pirates whispered, while another whistled in appreciation.
Kid's eyes were glued to Luffy, his brain short-circuiting with the realization that the fearless pirate he had always seen in baggy shirts and shorts was indeed a girl, and a very attractive one at that. He couldn't tear his gaze away from her, even though he desperately wanted to. Her laughter was like a siren's call, making him feel a strange mix of annoyed and intrigued.
"You've got to be kidding me," he mumbled under his breath, his hand still over his mouth. His mind was racing with all the times they'd been together, the battles they'd fought, the adventures they'd shared, and he had never noticed. It was like seeing the world in a whole new light, and it was dizzying.
“You like it, jaggy?” Luffy asked carefreely, still spinning around as she looked down at herself.
Kid’s cheeks were on fire, and he couldn’t formulate a coherent response. The dress was... distracting, to say the least. It clung to her in a way that made it impossible not to notice every curve, every muscle. And those shoes... they made her legs look even longer and more tempting than before. He cleared his throat, trying to push the thoughts away. “It’s... different. That’s all I’m saying,” he finally managed to croak out.
Luffy powdered and huffed, turning her attention to Law’s submarine, The Polar Tang, which Law and his crew were lounging on the of it. “Do you like my dress, Traffy?” She asked, Law.
Law looked over at her, his expression unreadable for a moment before he broke out into a wide smile. “You look absolutely radiant, Strawhat-ya.” He said, his voice smooth like silk.
Luffy beamed at the compliment. “Thanks, Traffy! I knew you had good taste!”
Law’s smile grew even more smug as he leaned against the railing of his submarine. “It’s nothing special, just stating the obvious, really.”
Sanji, who had joined Luffy on the deck of the Thousand Sunny, let out a dramatic sigh. “It’s not just different, it’s... it’s like the sun has come out to play on the ocean after a storm, revealing hidden treasures beneath the waves.”
Chopper, who had been quietly watching the exchange, couldn’t hold back his laughter anymore. “Sanji, you’re such a poet when it comes to complimenting girls!”
Sanji shot Chopper a glare, his cheeks slightly pink. “What? It’s the truth! Luffy’s always been a treasure, but in that dress, she’s like... a whole treasure island!”
Luffy chuckled and gave Sanji a playful push. “You’re such a flirt, Sanji!”
Sanji grinned unabashedly. “I’m just stating the facts, Captain!”
On the Victoria Punk, Kid couldn’t tear his eyes away from Luffy. He felt a strange mix of emotions—shock, confusion, and something else that was definitely not anger. The way the dress accentuated her form... He had to admit, she looked incredible. But why did it bother him so much? He had always seen Luffy as a fellow pirate, a rival, a friend even. Now, he was seeing her in a way that was making his thoughts spiral into uncharted waters.
Zoro, noticing Kid’s reaction, smirked. "Looks like you've finally realized what you've been sailing alongside for all these years, Kid."
Kid's face grew even redder. "Shut up, Zoro," he grumbled, his eyes still glued to Luffy. Despite his embarrassment, he couldn't help but admire her. "It's just... I didn't expect it."
Luffy, noticing his discomfort, decided to let him off the hook. She waved at him one last time before turning to her crew. "Alright, let's get going. We've got a world to conquer!"
The Straw Hat Pirates cheered and dispersed to their duties, leaving Luffy standing on the deck of the Thousand Sunny, looking like a glamorous pirate queen. Sanji couldn't help but give her one last admiring look before he dashed off to the kitchen, his mind racing with thoughts of what he would cook for their victory feast.
Kid, still aboard the Victoria Punk, watched as the Thousand Sunny began to pull away, his thoughts a jumble of disbelief and something... new. He had always respected Luffy as a pirate, but now, seeing her in a dress, he couldn't deny that she was also a beautiful girl. He felt a strange tightness in his chest, and he didn't know whether it was anger, jealousy, or something else entirely.
“Bye-bye, Jaggy! Jaggy’s crew! Traffy! Traffy’s crew!” Luffy called out, waving energetically as the Thousand Sunny began to set sail. The Heart Pirates on the Polar Tang waved back, their laughter mixing with the splashing water.
Kid couldn’t tear his eyes away from Luffy’s retreating form. Her dress fluttered in the breeze like a fiery flag, leaving a trail of bewilderment and burgeoning attraction in its wake. He felt like he was seeing her for the first time. “What the hell just happened?” He murmured to himself, rubbing the back of his neck.
Killer, Kid's right-hand man, approached him, a knowing smirk playing on his lips. "Looks like you've been hit by Cupid's arrow, Captain," he said, nudging Kid's side.
Kid scoffed, trying to brush off the comment. "Don't be ridiculous, Killer. It's just a dress. It doesn't change who she is." But even as he said the words, he couldn't deny the way his heart had stumbled at the sight of her.
Meanwhile, on the Thousand Sunny, Luffy was oblivious to the effect she had on Kid. She was busy basking in the glow of her crew's approval and teasing. Nami sailed the ship with a knowing smile, enjoying the rare sight of Luffy dressed up. "You know, Luffy, you clean up pretty well when you put your mind to it," she said, a hint of mischief in her eyes.
"Thanks, Nami," Luffy said, flipping her hat to the side with a playful smile. "But I'm still going to wear whatever I want, dresses or not."
Nami rolled her eyes. "I know, I know. You're a free spirit, Luffy. But it's nice to see you embrace your feminine side."
Sanji, who had been quietly watching from the kitchen doorway, chimed in. "Indeed. It adds another layer of mystery to the legend of the Straw Hat Pirates."
