Forget-Me-Nots

Lucifer is currently in front of his daughter's hotel, wondering if he should call the thing off and create some excuse as why he wasn't able to come but before he could actually put his plan to work, the door swung open, almost swatting Lucifer, fortunately he managed to avoid being knocked to the ground.

Charlie, now realizing that she had almost knocked her father over, rushed to apologize. "I'm so sorry, dad! I wasn't expecting you go be this close to the door! Are you ok? I hope I didn't hurt you!" She pulls her father inside the building to see him properly.

Lucifer, who was quiet until then, snapped back to reality and looked at Charlie with a small, shaky smile. "It's fine, sweetie. I managed to avoid getting knocked to the ground, a door can't win against the King of the Hell!" He said with a chuckle, earning a chuckle from Charlie.

"I'm happy you're ok, dad." She said with a soft smile before she realized all eyes were on them, she cleared her voice and stepped aside so her dad could see the insides of the hotel better. "Dad, I'd to present you... to The Hazbin Hotel! C'mon now! There's some people I'd like you to meet!" She practically dragged him further into the place since Lucifer was practically frozen.

"This is Angel Dust, he's one of the residents and technically our only resident but he's doing very great in our redeeming process!" She gestured to Angel, who stood up and dear father— he was even taller than Charlie! Needless to say Lucifer was impressed.

"Heya short king, ya can call me Angel. It's nice to meet ya." The spider said, lowering himself to be at the same level as Lucifer, for outsiders, it was as if Angel was bowing. Lucifer, still a bit overwhelmed by the sudden interaction he was in, only managed to mutter a shaky and quiet "nice to meet you too".

Without even having the chance to breath, Charlie was already dragging him next to a woman around his height — Thank God for that! — Charlie moved away from him and gently took Vaggie's hand into hers, she turned to Lucifer with a small yet uncertain smile. "Dad, this is Vaggie. She's the hotel's protector and... my girlfriend."

Vaggie smiled shyly at Lucifer, extending her hand out, shaking a bit. Lucifer took a full minute to process what Charlie had just told him and, oh boy, couldn't he be happier! He instantly went to hug Vaggie, squeezing her as if she was a squishy toy. "It's very nice to meet you, Maggie! I'm so happy for you, Charlie!" He said with a wide smile, showing off all his sharp teeth as he took a step back to let Vaggie breath. "Sorry, sometimes I forget my own strength!"

Vaggie, still catching her breath, laughed awkwardly, feeling nervous. "It's alright, sir... At least I know from where Charlie takes her strength and optimism from." She said, looking at Charlie with a expression that Lucifer had seen and felt for a long time, Charlie herself, reciprocated that expression with a matching of her own. He could already tell from  the way they look at each other that their love would be everlasting.

Before he could joke about when would Charlie and Vaggie get married, Charlie remembered she still had people to introduce. She cleared her throat, looking at her father with a shy smile while he just looked back at her with a teasing grin. "Sorry. Where was I? Ah yes! The next person I'd like you to meet is Nifty, she's our cleaner!"

As if on clue, Nifty suddenly appeared, holding Lucifer's leg as if it was a pole. Lucifer hadn't even felt her before she started laughing, he practically jumped when he saw her. "OH FUCK!" He yelled, quickly swinging his leg in the air in hope of getting the little demon off him. Charlie quickly peeled Nifty off her father. "Hehehehe, I scared the bad boy!" Nifty had said and for Lucifer's sake, Charlie decided that was enough interaction between them.

Next on line was Husk, the bar— "WHAT IN THE UNHOLY NAME OF MINE IS THAT?!" Lucifer yelled before Charlie could properly introduce Husk, gesturing to the bar with his cane.

Alastor had just came back from his talk with Rosie, a rather serious one he hasn't managed to escape, unfortunately.

As he approached the hotel, he heard someone yelling what sounded like... "What in the unholy name"? Alastor guessed it was their 'special' guest since the voice was different from anyone in the hotel, though he found the voice oddly familiar. Must be a coincidence. Alastor thought before he melted into his shadows to appear right behind someone.

"Why! It's our dear bar, has it not been good enough for your taste? Now that's just rude coming from a guest!

Lucifer froze as he heard and felt someone behind him.

It can't be.

Lucifer's thoughts were running in a way he never thought they could. It can't be—

His thoughts were cut short by Charlie's voice. "Ah! There you are Alastor!"

Alastor.

Lucifer spun around so fast he could have knocked Alastor down with just the fast moviment of his legs.

The Radio Demon was staring back at him, matching the same expression of shock and... something the King of Hell couldn't decipher.

"Dad, this is Alastor, he's our hotelier! Alastor, this is my dad, Lucifer!" Charlie introduced, not realizing the tension between her father and the sinner. Lucifer just stared at Alastor, his eyes wide with shock and... hurt. What is he doing here? Why did he came back? WHERE did he came back from?  Lucifer was trying very hard to not just start bombarding questions right away.

He was snapped from his thoughts when Alastor spoke with the same voice he had heard many times. "Pleasure to be meeting you, sire, quite a pleasure!" The sinner said, tapping his cane at the ground to catch Lucifer's attention.

The tapping was very silent but to Lucifer it was a loud and clear message:

"Act along."

"It's very nice to meet you too, Alastor." The King replied with a small smile, trying to keep his emotions in check. Charlie was beaming with happiness next to him, happy that her father and her other father figure were getting along.

An uncomfortable silent was set between them, for Lucifer's part, he was still taking the fact that he's not hallucinating and that Alastor was right there. For Alastor's part, he was trying his best to not just melt into his shadows and run away like a coward, like a prey.

He internally cringed at the term before he recomposed himself and Charlie chipped in. "Well, dad... I have... kinda of a big ask for you." She said, nervousness being able to discern from her tone. Vaggie, as the thoughtful partner she is, had placed her hand on Charlie's shoulder, looking at her with a smile, encouraging Charlie to go on.

Charlie took a deep breath. "Dad, I wanted to ask you if you could arrange a meeting with Heaven for me." The room was silent, even Angel had stopped pestering Husk his jokes. The only sound in the air was Alastor's radio, playing a soft yet quiet Jazz.

Lucifer was stunned to say the least but the first thing that came to mind was a "no". He couldn't let Charlie have a meeting with Heaven.

He can't  let Charlie have a meeting with Heaven. "Charlie, you know—"

"Before you say you can't, I know you can, dad! I'm not a little girl anymore! Look at me, I'm centuries years old, centuries!" But all Lucifer could see was his baby Charlie. "That's literal an adult but, you still treat me like I'm a little child!" Charlie explained with a serious expression, showing she wasn't going to back down.

All eyes where on Lucifer now and, no matter what he tried, he knew Charlie wasn't taking "no" as an answer. She grew so much... Exactly like her mother. Lucifer thought as he sighed, he looked at Charlie, directly in her eyes, searching for anything, fear, anxiety but all he found was defiance and bravery. He then smiled and nodded. "Alright, Charlie. I'll try my best."

With that, Charlie pulled him into a tight hug and — dear God, Lucifer could be strong but Charlie?  She could break someone's spine accidentally just because she was very happy. "Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, dad!"

"No problem, Charlie..." Lucifer answered, patting his daughter's back but inside his mind, there was only one thing he was thinking, praying even.

Dear Father, please, for once in my life, let me beg you to protect my daughter from Heaven.

Please don't hurt her.
