Lexa's pov
As I walk back into my tent, my thoughts keep wandering back to the conversation with Abby. I know that my mask cracked for a short moment, however, I couldn't help it. She reminded me so much of Clarke in that particular moment and I could see where she's got her temper from.
I can feel a smile tickling at the corners of my lips, begging to break free. I let it. Since I'm on my own anyway, nobody will be able to see it; to spot the commander of the twelve clans, the fierce warrior, smiling like a branwoda.
The smile is wiped from my face as soon as my sight lands on the plans of Maun-de, or rather the surroundings of the mountain as we don't really have much information about the inside.
„I will get you out of there, Clarke. I promise."
I'm sitting in my throne when the voice of Gustus filters through the flaps of my tent.
„Heda, Skaikru ste hir gon chich op yu hashta Maun-de. (the sky people are here to talk to you about the mountain.)"
Good. Let's get this settled and then we will finally take the mountain down. „Teik emo ona. (Let them in.)"
Mere seconds later, the flaps are pulled to the side, revealing Abby and the chancellor. „Abby. Kane."
„Commander." They return my acknowledgment. I observe them. Their body language is tense and they can't completely meet my eyes.
„Do you have an answer for my request?"
„Yes. Although, we do have conditions for our support." I arch my brow, questioning. „First, we want peace, even after Mount Weather. Second, we need a home, the land we currently stay on would be ideal. Third, we need help to adjust to being on earth. Surviving. We need you to show us how to hunt, farm, build homes, and generally live down here."
I think about their conditions for a moment before responding. „I will make sure you will be taught how to survive and I will do my best to ensure peace as long as you honor my laws." They nod, waiting for me to continue. „As far as the land is concerned, I can't make any promises."
Abby opens her mouth to start an argument, but I speak before she gets a chance to. „The land you are currently on belongs to Azgeda, barely but still. If it were Trikru I could have given it to you, albeit it doesn't and therefore it is not my right to do so. Only the Ice queen can. Unfortunately, she is captured in the mountain and only when the attack is over can either she or her successor decide whether to gift you the land or not. If, however, she or her settle."
I can tell that my proposition is thought of. „Alright, I think we have a deal." Kane gives me a smile, though it drops soon when I keep my expression stoic.
„I guess we do. We will start with the planning in two days. My warriors will guide you back to your camp tomorrow at first light and bring you back here at dawn the day after. You have the day to get everything and everyone you need."
They only nod, so I call for Gustus.
„Heda." He bows slightly in respect, waiting for my command.
„Lid emo in bakon gon emo tent en send emo gon sonop kom fai gonas gon emo trap. (Bring them back to their tent and send them at first light with five warriors to their camp.)"
„Sha, Heda." With that he leads the two Skaikru out of my tent.
The day after tomorrow will be the beginning of the end of the Maunon.
Clarke’s pov
Green eyes flash through my mind in between memories of my time in the mountain.
A prick on my skin.
Green eyes.
High pressure water, inflicting bruises.
Brown curls.
Beatings.
And then… nothing.
