Love letters

Piper POV:
It's been a few weeks since I told Drew and Leo about my unrequited crush.
Drew has been.... Uhm.. something..and Leo...is trying his best.
Jason, my ex boyfriend, has been incredibly supportive and is helping me with my feelings.
Anyway, today I came up with an idea.
What if I write love letters?
Jason suggested something similar a few days ago, and today I finally decided to get started on it.
I wasn't sure if Annabeth was going to recognize my handwriting, so I made it sloppy and hard to read. Then I decided that wasn't a good idea since she's already dyslexic.
I changed my handwriting and tried to keep it as tidy and as legible as possible.
I thought it was a bit too obvious, so I just made a lame excuse of putting: *anonymous*.
I gave her some questions and then put it under her cabin door when nobody was looking.
After a few hours, I actually ended up getting a response!
She answered my questions and asked for my name.
I wrote back a response for her almost immediately.
"My name is Page Harvey."
Nobody in camp has that name soo...
"It's my pen name. I like to remain anonymous."
Got it.
I finished the letter and waited until the next day to give it to her.
First thing in the morning I got out of bed and rolled it under her cabin door, then I ran off back into my cabin.
This went on for a few weeks. We would send each other letters back and forth.
It actually seemed like she wouldn't figure anything out.
But I was wrong.
Very wrong.
One day, as I was writing my response, I got called outside by Leo.
I left my letter sitting on the table as I went outside.
When I came back, it wasn't there anymore.
I searched everywhere for it.
The worst part is, both my response and the test letter was there.
A few days ago I wanted to come out and tell Annabeth. But I didn't, I wrote my name and everything on it. I decided I would one day, so I kept it.
Now it was missing.
I wanted to ask Drew, but I realized she was literally on a school trip IN WISCONSIN.
Okay .
Don't panic .
What if Annabeth found your letter?
.
What if she hates you now?
.
Did I just ruin everything?
.
I decided to write Annabeth a letter apologizing that I lost her letter and the response to it.
I wrote the entire response again and I was ready to go out the cabin door and give Annabeth the response.
But I saw someone at my door.
It was Annabeth.

Annabeth POV:
I've recently noticed that Piper is glancing at me. A lot. Percy also pointed that out.
One day, we were training and I could tell she was staring at me. Despite not being present with her mind at all, she still fought pretty well. When Percy kissed me, I couldn't help but see a hint of jealousy in her gaze for a moment, before returning back to fighting.
After we finished, I decided to go and compliment her. She freaked out a bit, I could tell by her body language. But she smiled and I walked off, Percy then clung his arm into mine.
I started getting these letters under my cabin door one night.
The person "Anonymous", was funny and reminded me of Piper somehow.
After a few weeks of responding back and forth to each other, it suddenly stopped for a bit too much one day.
I walk outside, waiting to find the envelope.
I then close the door and wait.
After nothing happens 10 minutes, I walked outside again.
I noticed two envelopes flying out the window while Piper was talking to Leo about something.
I sneaked and took them. Then waited until Piper and Leo left.
I started reading the smudged envelope.
It was a love confession.
From Piper.
Even if she tried to change her handwriting, I still recognized it as Piper's.
Piper has always seemed... amazing to me. She can read my emotions very well and we get along easily. I can tell that she's a bit jealous of my relationship with Percy though, I always know what she's feeling.
I love her charmspeak and how she rarely uses it because she doesn't want to manipulate others.
I love how I can confide my secrets in her. She's insanely trustworthy.
And...
Honestly, she's my best friend.
That's the problem.
Best friend.
I'm not romantically attracted to her. She is gorgeous, I can say that, even though she tries to hide it.
I just can't find it in me to reciprocate the feelings.
So, with a heavy heart, I finish reading the response to the letter I sent and put them back just like how they were.
I walked up to the cabin door and knocked.
"Hey, Piper. I found these outside. Are they yours? I didn't read them."
"Oh! That's where they were... Uhm, thank you, Annabeth..!" She quickly took the envelopes. "Do you want to come inside or..?"
"No thanks, I have some stuff to do. I appreciate your humble request."
Piper giggled a bit at that.
"Alright, uhm..bye.!"
"Bye."
I smiled at her and I could see her cheeks getting a little pink. Then she closed the door.
Something clicked.
It all makes sense now.
How she acts around me.
