Overworked
3rd Year
Pansy:
It was a warm day and during divination she noticed that Granger had never came in, she didn’t want to think about Granger and if she had gotten hurt,or sick or some other ill reason why she couldn’t attend class. Sure she noticed that Granger has been overworking as to why she’s caught her in the library after hours,how Granger studies at breakfast,lunch, and dinner. She’s also gotten into the habit of almost falling asleep in class.
Pansy tried to brush it off and continued to look into her divination book with Crabbe sitting beside her.
After Divination,Pansy,Daphne,Astoria and some other Slytherin girls Pansy didn’t care to learn names gossiped about the new DADA teacher and whether or not if he was better looking than Gilderoy Lockhart, short answer: Yes.
The girls slowly separated into other classes and Pansy had astronomy after with Granger.
Pansy saw Hermione Granger, and held herself back from asking where she had been. It didn’t work because right after Astronomy Pansy nudged Granger,
”Well, Granger surprised you missed Divination. Didn’t know you had breaking the rules in you.” Pansy teased with a haunting grin,
Hermione Granger gave her a confused than a terrified look and said,
”Uh- I’ve got to go, see you around Parkinson!”Granger bolted out of Astronomy rather quick.
Pansy just stood there confused.
Why hadn’t Granger paid mind to her when she was clearly making fun of her?
Hermione:
Oh No
Was Hermione’s first thought, she had overworked herself to hard that she missed Divination! Well, who actually cares about that but still it would impact her grade. When Hermione Made it to Gryffindor’s Common Room she saw everyone having a good time, that stressed her cause she looked like the only one who had trouble!
The twins were building some crafty experiment and Lee Jordan watched in awe showing off his two best friends, Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil were holding hands while talking about “mysteries” and “conspiracies” and what not, Neville and Ginny were studying Herbology together(Though Ginny didn’t seem to get it).
Hermione ran into Harry and
Harry Annoying Potter asked her,
”why weren’t you at Divination?” He said with too much worry that made Hermione’s stomach ache
. She looked around and sighed then finally she admitted,
”W-Well, I’ve been working myself too hard I suppose,” Harry listened,”and might’ve forgotten to attend Divination.”
Harry nodded incredulously his arms crossed. Hermione had told the truth! Except the part where she had a time turner…
Hermione scoffed and walked away. While in the girls dorm room she thought about Parkinson teasings. It wasn’t necessarily that bad-the teasing towards Hermione, but Hermione found it strange that Parkinson was collectively agreed upon as Slytherin’s most Ruthless Girl,but her assaults to Hermione were extremely tame from the way she bullied Neville and others(including other Slytherins).
Parkinson often made sneaky remarks about Hermione’s behavior like an insufferable know-it-all.But compared to Neville where Parkinson had convinced every single slytherin(except 1st years because apparently to her they weren’t skilled enough)to make howlers to Neville hexed with a petrified spell(Neville had to visit Madame Pomfrey for a couple of days).
Pansy:
She didn’t know what had happened,well she did but she didn’t understand it?Oh well,it’ll probably be another thing that’ll fly by in a matter of seconds.
It was not.
Pansy thought about her encounter with Granger for DAYS! Yes, Pansy didn’t give a flying pig about Granger(which is a lie), however the fact that Granger simply ignored Pansy in a way she did not before(she would often scowl and make snide remarks back).It pained Pansy to think about it.
Today was a Saturday so Pansy got to stay in bed,but Daphne had dragged Pansy out of bed along with her twin sister Astoria.
“Pansy, y’know you can’t stay in bed all day.” Astoria said sternly while holding one finger up,
”I know,I know!” Pansy groaned.
When Pansy had gotten dressed the three girls made their way to the library to study for an upcoming transfiguration test.
While Daphne and Astoria were readying the supplies Pansy spot a bushy haired girl sitting in the corner with multiple books stacked. The book was also a transfiguration book that was thick and chunky.
Granger’s bushy hair seemed more untouched than anything, her eye bags were heavy and her face was a reddish tint.Pansy admired her from afar while Daphne and Astoria were doing most work.
“Er-Pansy!” Daphne exclaimed,
“Wha-!”
“Focus!”
“…”
“Alright,alright!”
Astoria groaned and smacked them both with a pencil. It had been 45 minutes and Pansy had decided to pack up and leave. When she got to the dorms she saw Blaise and Draco saving her a spot at a back table.
Hermione:
For some reason she couldn’t keep her eyes of Parkinson at the library. It was odd because Hermione hadn’t felt that way about anyone before. No.No way I fancy Parkinson!
Hermione thought rather furiously.Hermione just sighed as she put her books in her bag and left to the dorms.
In the common room she noticed Ron and Seamus Finnigan going at it in Wizards Chess while Harry was hyping Ron up. Hermione scoffed at how uncaring the boys were at their studies and sped walked to the girls dorm. In her dorm she lied down on her bed thinking of upcoming questions and answers for the test.odd enough Parkinson kept slipping through her mind every now and then(It was her WHOLE thought process).
Parkinson had medium black hair that glistened throughout the night, her eyes were meaningful emerald green, and her face was bright with lightened freckles covering the middles of her face. Her beauty was incomparable to that of a Veela.
”Oh,oh.” Hermione exhaled,
”Merlin!I fancy Parkinson!”Hermione groaned loudly.
Luckily she was the only one in the girls dorm because everyone was in the commons room.
“No, I don’t. I just like the way she looks perhaps,”She sighed,
”rather romantic way I saw her.”Hermione grumbled and thought more about it.
She later came to the conclusion that she might fancy Parkinson, but she’ll never tell her-or acknowledge those feelings.
Pansy:
The next day was Sunday and Pansy had the thought to walk around the halls for a little bit. for some peculiar reason she went up to the owlery, Before she walked in she saw an average sized girl with her bushy hair in a bun and a letter in her hands. Pansy blushed red, she had never seen Granger with her hair in a bun.It was endearing to say the least.
When Granger had attached a note to an owl Pansy immediately ran and hid under the staircase.Her heart thumped to every two steps Hermione skipped off the stairs. Once Hermione had left Pansy got out from under the stairs and groaned, how can someone so stern and insufferable and yet so utterly polite and gorgeous?wait,Had Pansy been thinking about Granger this way?
