The Three (4) Mustard Tiers (that's what they're called, right?)
Summary
I love the idea of Semi, Minsu, Thanos, and Namgyu being a chaotic friend group. Plus, I love the rare pair of Junhee and Semi, their vibes just fit together so well. Some angst because everyone's still in debt, but don't take anything too seriously.
Note
So for the romanization of Korean names there are a lot of different ways (Se-mi, Se Mi, etc.) I chose to write them together (Semi) because that's what's common in K-pop fandom and that's the fandom space I occupy (deadass just watched Squid Game for my boy TOP).

Spin The Fucking Bottle

It had been almost a week since Seollal and Semi had started emailing people about planning the wedding. She didn’t understand why someone else couldn’t just do it, well, she had tried to get Subong to do it before quickly realizing it was a bad idea after he tried to get a neon purple hanbok. (It had even clashed with his hair. Where did he even find something like that?) It was just another thing that she had to deal with, but the wedding planning antics meant Subong was at least acting like he felt better.

Semi sat down on the couch and Junhee curled up against her, something about the pregnancy making her more cuddly. Semi didn’t mind, and it allowed her to live out the delusion of a relationship a little more. Gyeongsu had come over again, and him and Minsu were excitedly discussing the cliff-hanger the drama had just ended on.

The apartment door swung open and Subong and Namgyu stumbled in, giggling amongst themselves. Namgyu’s eyes met Gyeongsu and he froze. Namgyu started to try to turn to leave but Subong was dragging him over towards the couch already, completely ignorant to Namgyu’s struggles.

”Gyeongsuuu! My boy!” Subong tackled Gyeongsu into a hug that half-flung Namgyu onto the couch next to Minsu.

Gyeongsu smiled at Subong and patted his back. “What’s up, dude?”

Subong flopped onto the couch, pinning Namgyu down before he could stand up and scurry off. Semi suppressed a chuckle as she watched Namgyu’s eyes widen like scared rabbit’s. Subong shoved himself into Minsu and Gyeongsu’s conversation, while Namgyu tried to slowly inch away, failing when Subong wrapped his arm over Namgyu’s shoulder, preventing him from getting away. Semi chuckled at Namgyu’s struggles and he shot a glare at her. Junhee and Minsu exchanged glances.

Junhee cleared her throat. “Since we’re all together, why don’t we play a game?”

Semi looked at Namgyu again, a scheming glint in her eyes. “Yeah, that’s a great idea. We should play Truth or Dare.”

Subong nodded his head excitedly. “Good idea, señorita.” He hopped up and wandered over to the kitchen. Semi raised her eyebrows as she watched him grab a stack of cups and a bottle of soju. He sat down on the floor and patted for everyone to come over. Gyeongsu happily sat down with Minsu following him, a confused look on his face. Semi sighed and helped Junhee sit down in the circle, she looked over at Namgyu and smacked his ankle, he glared but sat down anyway. Semi glanced back over at Subong who had poured the contents of the bottle into the cups and given everyone one.

Semi gave Subong a look and took the cup that had been in front of Junhee and poured it into her own. “Pregnant women can’t drink.”

”Why not?” Subong asked. He paused before snapping his fingers. “Because babies can’t drink.”

Junhee laughed and smiled at Subong. “Yeah, they can’t.”

Subong nodded before placing the empty bottle in the middle of the circle. “Imma go first.” He flicked the bottle and it spun to face Junhee. “Truth or Dare, señorita?” He smiled.

Junhee leaned against Semi and paused to think for a moment. “Truth.”

Subong nodded and made a face while he tried to come up with something. He clapped his hands. “Most epic thing you’ve done at work without getting caught.” He asked Junhee.

Junhee tilted her head in thought, a strand of her hair falling onto her face causing her to blow on it gently in a cute gesture that made Semi’s heart melt like the protagonist of a cheesy romance drama.

Junhee smiled. “Semi and I made an army of paper cranes out of receipt paper one shift.”

Semi’s face warmed, that was what Junhee considered as her “most epic” moment at work? Namgyu looked at Semi and cackled. “You really don’t do anything at your job.

Semi kicked his shin. “You don’t either so shut-up.”

Junhee looked at Semi and interrupted before Namgyu could retort. “Could you spin the bottle for me? It’s kind of hard to uh…” She looked down.

Semi smiled slightly. “Yeah, of course.” She reached over and spun the bottle. The bottle landed on Namgyu.

Junhee looked over at him. “Truth or Dare?”

Namgyu muttered something about Semi cheating before answering Junhee. “Dare. I’m not a pussy.”

Semi snorted.

Junhee scrunched her nose in thought. “Hmm.” She smiled mischievously. “Profess your undying love to Subong like you’re the lead in a romance drama.”

Namgyu glared at Semi. “Bitch.” He muttered under his breath.

Semi rolled her eyes. It had been too funny to not tell Junhee.

Namgyu turned to face Subong who was looking at Junhee with a very confused expression that had Gyeongsu giggling under his breath. Namgyu took a deep breath and stared Subong in the eyes.

”Move closer.” Semi goaded.

Namgyu shot her a glare and slid half a centimeter closer. Semi snorted.

Namgyu pulled out his phone and typed something in while everyone stared at him intently. He looked back at Subong before glancing down at his phone. “I like you. Whether you’re a man or-” He started to read in a monotone voice.

Minsu looked at him in confusion. “Wait. Isn’t that from Coffee Prince?”

Semi burst out laughing. “That’s honestly sappier than anything you could’ve come up with.”

Namgyu shot her a glare; his face tinted pink. “Shut-up, it’s my mom’s favorite, okay?”

Subong giggled at Namgyu and patted him on the back. “You’re funny, man.” Then Subong grabbed the bottle. “Who’s next?”

Namgyu put his phone away. “Me.” He spun the bottle while giving Semi a death stare. The bottle faced Semi and Namgyu started cackling. “Truth or Dare?”

Semi rolled her eyes. “Dare.” It would be slightly less embarrassing, probably. She took a huge sip of her soju.

Namgyu looked at her with a self-satisfied grin. “I dare you to confess your love to Junhee.”

Semi’s face warmed up, and not from the alcohol, shit. She should’ve seen that one coming. She turned and gazed into Junhee’s big brown eyes that made her chest feel warm. She inhaled and pictured someone else in front of her, she was not going to let Namgyu have the last laugh. She cupped Junhee’s face. “Ever since we met, I’ve felt a deep connection to you. Your laughter makes my heart soar and my head dizzy. Whenever you smile I feel like I’m being touched by an angel. I love you and I’ll love you forever.” She let go of Junhee’s face and shot a satisfied smirk at Namgyu; she should become an actress. In her triumph, Semi missed Junhee’s whispered response as Junhee leaned her head against Semi’s shoulder.

Namgyu sulked. “Gay.”

Semi snickered as she leaned over to spin the bottle. It landed on Minsu; Semi looked up at him, he was staring at her. Semi cleared her throat. “Uh, Truth or Dare?”

”Uhm, truth.” Minsu replied.

Semi paused, all of the ones that came to mind would probably be too overwhelming for Minsu at the moment as he looked like his brain was about to short-circuit from the back-to-back “love” confessions. “What’s your favorite part of living with us?” Semi asked. Interesting enough, but hopefully not too much.

Minsu looked down and rubbed the back of his neck. “You’re all really unique—not like weird, that’s not what I mean—but I’m glad I met you. I never ask first for anything, but I’m glad I asked you that day, Semi noona.” Minsu blushed and stared intently at the floor.

Subong wrapped Minsu in a hug. “Minsu, my boy.” He patted Minsu’s shoulder and pulled away. “I’m happy you asked Semi too, you living with us’s been awesome, for real.”

Minsu chuckled awkwardly. “Uh—thank you.” He reached out to spin the bottle. “Uhm, let’s see who’s next.” The bottle landed on Namgyu.

Gyeongsu snorted. “It’s like that bottle’s allergic to me or something.”

Minsu looked at Namgyu. “Uhm, Truth or Dare?”

Namgyu huffed. “Dare, obviously.”

Semi chuckled. “Because that went so well for you last time.” She murmured.

Namgyu shot her a glare before turning back to Minsu. “So, whatcha got for me? Lay it on.”

”Uhm, uh—like every post on Thanos’s Instagram?” Minsu glanced over at Semi for approval.

Subong slung his arm over Namgyu’s shoulder. “That’s easy, you’ve already done that, right man?”

Namgyu glared at Semi again like it was somehow her fault. “No.” He muttered. “I’ve only liked the ones since after we met in 2020.”

Subong nodded. “Oh yeah, that makes sense.”

Semi chuckled. “Have fun scrolling through and liking over a thousand posts.” She smirked at Namgyu. “Hope your phone dies.”

Namgyu huffed and pulled his phone out to start scrolling. An insult muttered under his breath.

”I think we should let Gyeongsu go next because he hasn’t had a turn yet.” Junhee suggested.

Minsu nodded. “Yeah, I think he should get a turn.”

Subong nodded and turned to Gyeongsu. “Truth or Dare, my boy?”

”Dare, of course.” Gyeongsu replied, crossing his arms to look cool and nonchalant.

”Drink a mix of everything in the fridge.” Subong hopped up and went towards the kitchen, gesturing to Gyeongsu to come along. Everyone (except Namgyu who was still scrolling) watched with morbid fascination as Subong mixed beer, Sprite, kimchi juice, lychee soju, tea, and milk together in a cup. He presented it to Gyeongsu with a cheerful smile on his face.

Gyeongsu accepted it and started chugging, trying to hide the grimace on his face. His eyes watered. He finished the drink and set it down on the counter with a little more force than necessary. Subong cheered and patted Gyeongsu on the back as they made their way back to the circle. Gyeongsu looked like he was trying not to throw up as he spun the bottle. It landed on Semi. He looked over at her. “Truth or Dare?” He croaked.

”Truth.” Semi decided.

Gyeongsu nodded. “What’s the weirdest place you’ve woken up?”

Finally, a normal question. “The janitor’s closet at the aquarium.” Semi replied.

Subong giggled. “I remember that, fucking crazy. Still can’t believe you did that, señorita.”

Gyeongsu stared at Semi. “Wait, what happened?”

Semi reached over to spin the bottle. “You’re only supposed to ask one question.” The bottle landed on Minsu again. It was probably for the best that she kept getting him. “Truth or Dare?”

”Uh, dare.” Minsu replied.

Semi raised an eyebrow but Minsu didn’t change his answer. “Sketch a picture of your fav person in 30 secs and let us guess who it is. I’ll get some paper.” Semi walked over to her room to grab paper and Junhee followed her.

”Did you mean what you said back there?” Junhee asked as Semi rummaged around for a pen and some paper.

Semi grabbed a pen and tested it. “Huh? Oh, don’t worry—We’re just friends, I didn’t mean to make you feel weird or anything.” She awkwardly chuckled; she hoped that Junhee wouldn’t feel uncomfortable sharing a bed after what Semi had said.

”Oh, okay.” Junhee replied, he voice tapering off at the end.

Semi turned around with the pen and paper, Junhee’s eyes were glossy. “Wait, I don’t mean it like that. I care about you a lot, but don’t feel uncomfortable or anything—Namgyu’s just a dick.”

Junhee blinked and a tear rolled down her cheek. “Don’t worry, you’ve never made me feel uncomfortable.”

Semi smiled softly and walked over to wipe Junhee’s face. “You’re a good friend, thank you, Junhee.”

Junhee chuckled and gave Semi a side hug. “I love you.”

Semi’s chest tightened, and her face felt warm; she was suddenly grateful for the dim lighting. She patted Junhee’s head. “Thank you.”

Junhee looked up at Semi. “I’m kind of tired. Can we just go to bed?”

Semi nodded. “Yeah, that’s fine. I’m just gonna give these to the guys real quick.”

Junhee nodded. “Okay.”

Semi smiled at Junhee as she walked away. Too bad Junhee wasn’t into girls.
